摘要
通常将《四库全书》开馆的意义看作,或是以征集代禁锢,或是学术总结,或是汉学对宋学的清除。所言有据。但若以《四库全书总目·子部》为考察对象,我们会在上述认识外,还会强烈地感觉到,在辨章学术、考镜源流中,在评定是非、褒贬对错间,四库馆臣们正试图正本清源,努力建构雅正、开放的学术范型。他们重汉学但不废宋学的学术追求,和尚雅正、求实用的学术目的,彰显出康乾时期文人的学术旨趣。
The significance of the opening of Siku Quanshu(also translated as.Complete Library in the Four Branches of Literature or Imperial Collection of Four)is usually viewed as a collection to overcome censorship,an academic summary,or the removal of Songxue(Neo-Confucianism)by Hanxue(Sinology).These claims have their basis.However,if we examine the Siku Zongmu.Zibu,in addition to the aforementioned understanding,we will strongly feel that,in distinguishing academic works and examining their origins,in assessing right and wrong,and in praising or criticizing,the Siku guanchen(officials responsible for Siku Quanshu)were attempting to rectify the fundamentals and construct an elegant and open academic paradigm.They emphasized the pursuit of Hanxue while not disregarding Songxue,and their scholarly interests were characterized by a combination of elegance,practicality,and a quest for truth,reflecting the intellectual pursuits of literati during the Kangxi and Qianlong periods.
