摘要
“报应”是一个内涵丰富的词语,成词理据在于动词性语素“报”“应”并列,均具备“相当”和“回”的特征;用“报”而非“应”代指双音词是由于二语素义的区别。“报应”表示“相应、相当”的行为,也即这种行为产生或呈现出的效应或结果,具有宗教哲学色彩,早见于中土文献。中古汉译佛经所见“报应”发展出新的内涵并保留至今,成为现代汉语中“报应”的唯一表义。这一哲学术语从中土文献到佛教文献的移用,是促动词义丰富发展的重要原因。
Baoying(报应)is a word with rich connotation.Morphemes Bao(报)and Ying(应)have semantic features in common,such as fair,returnand both are motion.Their differences make only Bao can replace Baoying.When they became a word,it was in the formation of synonymy coordinate dislables.As developing,its meaning has developed because the usage of the word in Buddhist scriptures affects a lot.
