摘要
恐惧管理健康模型认为,接收到死亡信息暴露后,个体关于健康的防御行为会产生两种结果:健康行为导向的结果和逃避威胁导向的结果。聚焦于食品选择这一往往难以兼顾美味和健康的行为,本文采用实验法检验了死亡信息暴露对健康食品选择的影响及其机制。研究结果表明,可控性死亡信息暴露会增加消费者对健康食品的选择,不可控性死亡信息暴露会减少消费者对健康食品的选择。健康动机在可控性死亡信息暴露促进健康食品选择中起中介作用,逃避动机在不可控性死亡信息暴露减少健康食品选择中起中介作用。
The Terror Management Health Model considers that when someone is exposedto death-related information,the individual’s defensive behavior about health will result in two outcomes:the health behavior-oriented outcome and the threat avoidance-oriented outcome.Focusing on food choice,which is often difficult to balance tastiness and healthiness,this paper examines the effect of death-related information exposure on healthy food choicesand its mediation mechanism using experimental methods.The results show that exposure to controllable death-related information increases consumers’ choices of healthy food,and exposure to uncontrollable death-related information decreases consumers’ choices of healthy food.Health motivation plays a mediating role in the influence of controllable death-related information exposure on healthy food choiceand avoidance motivation plays a mediating role in the influence of uncontrollable death-related information exposure on healthy food choice.
