In order to increase the feed efficiency,Hainan yellow cattle and crossbred cattle were fed with diets with different addition ratios of dry rice straw and fresh king grass in the experiment, and the feeding effect as well as the effects of the mixed diets on growth performance and serum biochemical indices of Hainan yellow cattle and crossbred cattle were investigated and analysed. The ratio of roughage and concentrate is 1:1,and fresh king grass and dry rice straw were selected as materials of roughage. The addition ratios of dry rice straw are 0%(control group)、10%(10%rice straw group)and 20%(20%rice straw group),respectively.12 Hainan yellow cattle and 12 crossbred cattle with similar age and weight were divided into three groups(n=4),respectively,and fed with above three meals for 60 days. The results showed that after feeding, daily feed intake(ADFI)and average daily gain(ADG)were significantly higher, and feed/gain(F/G)was significantly lower,in addition, the ADG was increased with the increase of the addition of dry rice straw. In the serums of the three treatments, except for total cholesterol(TC),albumin(ALB),glucose(GLU),triglyceride(TG)were affected by cattle species. The addition of dry rice straw could contribute to improving the food intake and daily weight gain.In addition, compared with yellow cattle, the feeding effect of the mixed diets for crossbred cattle was better.
