唐代西州佛教管理研究二题

Two Topics on the Research of Buddhist Management in Xizhou during the Tang Dynasty

摘要 唐平高昌之后不久,对高昌僧团进行了整顿,对此学界多有论述[1]。本文利用二重证据法,拟对唐初西州"度僧"及官寺的相关问题进行探讨。不当之处,敬请方家指正。一、唐初西州"度僧"问题唐初为控制僧尼人数、增加赋役,推行试经度僧制度。考核合格者才能获得僧籍,成为合法僧尼。贞观九年(635)的《度僧于天下诏》提供了相关信息:其天下诸州有寺之处,宜令度人为僧尼,总数以三千为限。其州有大小、地有华夷,当处所度多少,委有司量定。务须精诚德业,无问年之幼长。其往因减省还俗及私度白首之徒,若行业可称,通在取限。必无人可取,亦任其阙数,若官人简练不精,宜录附殿失。[2] Shorthy after pacified Gaochang,the Tang Dynasty rectified the religious order for maintaining social stability.The paper discussed two topics on Buddhist management in Xizhou under Tang.In early Tang Dynasty,the Emperor cleaned up Gaochang Sangha by standardizing the teaching material of Buddhist scriptures,lowering the threshold of Buddhist scriptures’ test and maintaining the hearts and minds of the Gaochang people.In early Tang Dynasty,the Emperor promulgated holy decrees four times,Xizhou was no exception.Xizhou official temples’ setup should belong to the selection of a new address to reestablish.The official temples undertaked some special functions.There was no difference between official temples and ordinary temples in economy.
