Sui and Tang tombs in Henan region are concentrated on Anyang and Luoyang respectively.Pottery Figurines with kandys(an outfit drapes on the shoulders with two empty sleeves hanging down the both sides, some with strips or ribbons tied under the jaw)are mostly male while a few are female. The same type of kandys were found on figurines from the contemporary neighbouring districts, including Shanxi,Shaanxi and Hebei etc..Based on a detailed data collection and analysis,we find two distinct styles of kandys in Henan, one is Anyang’s“Eastern Wei and Northern Qi”jaw-tied type, and another is Luoyang’s“Northern Wei and Tang”robe with out-turned triangular neckline, demonstrating two separate spaces where different cultures met and diffused.
