Yin-kuang(Yinguang印光,1861-1940),whose formal name was Shêng-liang(Shengliang圣量)and who used to style himself as Ch’ang-ts’ankuei-sêng(Chang Cankui Seng常惭愧僧,or a monk who is constantly aware of his misdeeds),was a modern master of the Chinese Pure Land School.He was a native of the Ko-yang District(Heyang Xian郃阳县),Shensi(Shaanxi Province),and his family surnamed Chao(Zhao赵).
