摘要
基于2003-2018年中国234个城市的面板数据,利用双重差分模型评估文明城市评选对城市旅游业的影响。研究发现:(1)文明城市评选抑制了城市旅游业发展,经过大量的稳健性检验,该结论仍然显著;(2)机制检验显示,一方面,文明城市评选其并没有促进城市经济增长和产业结构升级,但在一定程度上提高了城市创新水平。另一方面,城市被评为文明城市后,并未提高城市公共服务产品的供给,导致城市公共服务滞后与旅游资源增长速度。(3)异质性结果显示,文明城市评选对中西部、产业结构低和旅游资源缺乏的城市旅游业的抑制作用更加明显。最后基于研究结论,对城市旅游业发展提出相关政策建议。
Based on panel data of 234 cities in China from 2003 to 2018,this paper evaluates the effect of civilized city selection on urban tourism.The study found that:(1)The civilized city selection inhibited urban tourism development,a finding that remained significant after extensive robustness tests.(2)The mechanism test shows that,on the one hand,the civilized city selection its did not promote the city’s economic growth and industrial structure upgrade,but to a certain extent to improve the level of urban innovation.On the other hand,the city was awarded as a civilized city,did not improve the supply of urban public service products,resulting in urban public services lagging behind with the growth rate of tourism resources.(3)The heterogeneity results show that the civilized city selection has a more pronounced inhibitory effect on tourism in cities in the mid-west,with low industrial structure and lack of tourism resources.Finally,based on the findings of the study,relevant policy recommendations are made for the development of urban tourism.
