摘要
本文运用比较法考察了中古本土汉语与译经中“内色/外色”的来源与流传过程。考察结果表明,本土汉语中的“内色/外色”是由汉语已有语素组合而成;而译经中的“色”除了有汉语已有的词义外,还有“物质、形式”义,因此除了表示汉语已有的含义外,译经中的“内色/外色”还可以表示“人自身的组成部分/外在客观物质”,这一用法是佛经表示物质概念的用语,因而最终只在民国以前的本土佛论文献中使用。研究这一现象对汉语史和辞书修订有重要意义。它表示受外来因素的影响,译经中出现的一些新词新义与本土固有词语形成了同形异义关系,这一现象值得引起关注。
This paper uses a comparative approach to examine the origin and transmission of“Nei Se/Wai Se”in ancient Chinese and translated Buddhist scriptures.It argues that the“Nei Se/Wai Se”in the native Chinese is a combination of existing Chinese morphemes,while the“Se”in the translated scriptures has the meaning of“substance,form”in addition to the existing meanings.Therefore,in addition to the existing meaning in Chinese,the term“Nei Se/Wai Se”in the translated Buddhist sutras can also mean“part of man's self/external objective substance”.This is a term used in Buddhist scriptures to express the concept of substance and was used only in the local Buddhist literature before the time of the People's Republic of China.The study of this phenomenon is of great significance for the history of the Chinese language and the revision of dictionaries.It indicates that some new words and meanings appearing in the translation of the scriptures have formed homomorphic and heterogeneous relationships with native words due to the influence of foreign factors,and this phenomenon deserves attention.
