摘要
根据金圣文的观点,儒家公共理性这一概念可以起到一箭双雕的作用:既有助于表述现代儒家文化圈(如韩国)的政治民主化进程,又可以起到理论规范的作用,从而指导儒家文化圈国家发挥更好的社会与政治功能。然而我认为,金圣文对儒学公共理性的论述过于薄弱、抽象,与韩国文化之根所表现出的价值与实践背离太远。因此,他需要更明晰地阐述其理论并纳入新的概念,如陈明所推崇的"公民宗教"。在文章的最后,通过并置公民宗教与公共理性的概念,将使我们有机会更好地理解儒学公民宗教及其潜在的相关性,这种相关性不仅仅与韩国有关,而且与中国大陆和中国台湾有关。
According to Sungmoon Kim,the concept"Confucian Public Reason"is useful in two aspects.First,it can help explain the political democratizations within the Confucian Cultural Circle(e.g.South Korea).Second,as a theoretical term with regulatory implications,it can guide countries within the Confucian Cultural Circle to better their societal and political functions.The author criticizes Sungmoon Kim’s arguments on Confucian Public Reason for their lack of depth and oversimplification,which are a far cry from the values and practices as demonstrated in Korea’s Cultural Roots.Therefore,the author suggests that Sungmoon Kim should further clarify his theory and incorporate such new concepts like"Civil Religion"as advocated by Chen Ming.Lastly,the author juxtaposes"Civil Religion"with"Public Reason"so that we can better understand Confucian Civil Religion and its possible implications,which are relevant not only to South Korea but also China's Mainland and Chinese Taiwan.
