摘要
宝石学是地质材料衍生的应用型本科专业,主要研究宝石的性质合成、鉴定分级、优化处理、勘探开采、研究开发、加工设计、评估营销等,专业定位为地质学、材料学与加工贸易交叉的理工科专业.然而,由于材料类本科教学质量国家标准中缺少专业核心课程示例,某些院校开设宝石学专业招收理工科学生,却通过产品设计专业课程来培养珠宝首饰设计人才,致使专业定位不准,培养目标和专业方向不符.因此,我们依据专业特点与材料类本科教学质量国家标准初步探讨了宝石学专业的核心课程,建议有关部门规范宝石学专业培养目标与课程设置,避免由于专业定位不准导致毕业生学无所长,同时也为其他交叉学科的专业定位与本科教学质量国家标准制订提供有益借鉴.
Gemology is an applied undergraduate major derived from geology and materials,which mainly studies the nature and synthesis,identification and grading,optimization and processing,exploration and mining,research and development,processing and design,evaluation and marketing of jewelry etc.Gemology is positioned as a major of science and engineering at the intersection of geology,material science and processing trade.Gemology is a special major of materials but the examples of core courses are missing from National Standards for Undergraduate Teaching Quality(NSUTQ).Therefore,some colleges set up gemology but recruit science students to train jewelry design talents by offering professional courses in product design,which results in inaccurate professional positioning and discrepancies between training goals and professional directions.The professional courses of gemology are preliminarily discussed according to the characteristics of discipline and NSUTQ for materials.The relevant departments are advised to standardize the training objectives and curriculum settings of gemology to avoid the inaccurate professional positioning resulting in graduates have no expertise.At the same time,it also provides a useful reference for the professional positioning of other interdisciplinary subjects and the formulation of NSUTQ.
