摘要
《夜色温柔》是F.斯科特·菲茨杰拉德的重要作品,语象叙事与《夜色温柔》的创作有着密切关系。本文结合作品的社会历史背景,通过文本细读,分析菲茨杰拉德运用的语象叙事手法,指出他采用这种手法描绘出一幅幅色调各异的生动场景并刻画出了一个个立体饱满、性格各异的人物,为人物的活动、情节的发展、象征的表现和主题的表达提供了适当的氛围和条件。
Tender Is the Night is one of Fitzgerald's important works.There is a close relationship between ekphrasis and the writing of the novel.With the social and historical background in mind,this essay analyzes the approach of ekphrasis employed by Fitzgerald.By close reading of the text,this paper shows how Fitzgerald describes the colorful scenes and portrays vivid and variable characters.All these help to create suitable atmosphere and conditions for the activities of characters,the development of the plot,the representation of the symbols,and the expression of the themes.
