On-road pollutant emission and fuel consumption characteristics of buses in Beijing 被引量:20

On-road emission and fuel consumption (FC) levels for Euro Ⅲ and Ⅳ buses fueled on diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG) were compared, and emission and FC characteristics of buses were analyzed based on approximately 28,700 groups of instantaneous data obtained in Beijing using a portable emissions measurement system (PEMS). The experimental results revealed that NOx and PM emissions from CNG buses were decreased by 72.0% and 82.3% respectively, compared with Euro IV diesel buses. Similarly, these emissions were reduced by 75.2% and 96.3% respectively, compared with Euro III diesel buses. In addition, CO2, CO, HC, NOx, PM emissions and FC of Euro IV diesel buses were reduced by 26.4%, 75.2%, 73.6%, 11.4%, 79.1%, and 26.0%, respectively, relative to Euro Ⅲ diesel buses. The CO2, CO, HC, NOx, PM emissions and FC factors all decreased with bus speed increased, while increased as bus acceleration increased. At the same time, the emission/FC rates as well as the emission/FC factors exhibited a strong positive correlation with the vehicle specific power (VSP). They all were the lowest when VSP 〈 0, and then rapidly increased as VSP increased. Furthermore, both the emission/FC rates and emission/FC factors were the highest at accelerations, higher at cruise speeds, and the lowest at decelerations for non-idling buses. These results can provide a base reference to further estimate bus emission and FC inventories in Beijing. 展开更多

In this study,the particle size-resolved distribution from a China-3 certificated light-duty diesel vehicle was measured by using a portable emission measurement system(PEMS).In order to examine the influences of vehicle specific power(VSP) and high-altitude operation,measurements were conducted at 8 constant speeds,which ranged from 10 to 80 km/hr at10 km/hr intervals,and two different high altitudes,namely 2200 and 3200 m.The results demonstrated that the numbers of particles in all size ranges decreased significantly as VSP increased when the test vehicle was running at lower speeds(〈 20 km/hr),while at a moderate speed(between 30 and 60 km/hr),the particle number was statistically insensitive to increase VSP.Under high-speed cruising conditions,the numbers of ultrafine particles and PM2.5were insensitive to changes in VSP,but the numbers of nanoparticles and PM10 surged considerably.An increase in the operational altitude of the test vehicle resulted in increased particle number emissions at low and high driving speeds;however,particle numbers obtained at moderate speeds decreased as altitude rose.When the test vehicle was running at moderate speeds,particle numbers measured at the two altitudes were very close,except for comparatively higher number concentrations of nanoparticles measured at 2200 m. 展开更多

Rotor blades fault of aeroengine compressor is mostly caused by mechanical and aerodynamic excitation.And the excitation factor of high intensity sound wave to rotor blades should not be ignored.Experimental researches are conducted on a multistage high pressure compressor.When high level vibration occurs on the first stage of rotor blades, the noise spectrum presents typical characteristic for discrete multi-tone in the compressor.The amplitude of blade vibration displacement and the sound pressure level of characteristic frequency noise increases and decreases simultaneously and reaches the maximum value at the same time.This frequency merely occur on a certain speed range and is locked in a specific range which presents no variation with the rotating speed.When high level vibration occurs on the first stage of rotor blades, the noise spectrum presents a sharp peak and the propagation state of the characteristic frequency is a helix structure in the compressor.It can be confirmed that acoustic resonance occurs in the multistage compressor.The acoustic resonance frequency and its side band frequencies are generated by modulation of a rotating noise source at the rotor speed which is the excitation source of the rotor blades vibration. 展开更多

Researchers have already proposed some time synchronization algorithms. However, due to the demands for various synchronization precision, existing time synchronization algorithms often need to be adapted. So it is necessary to evaluate these adapted algorithms before use. Software simulation is a valid and quick way to do it. In this paper, we present a time synchronization simulator, Simsync, for wireless sensor networks. We decompose the packet delay into 6 delay components and model them separately. The frequency of crystal oscillator is modeled as Gaussian. To testify its effectiveness, we simulate the reference broadcast synchronization algorithm (RBS) and the timing-sync synchronization algorithm (TPSN) on Simsync. Industrial production of NH3 from N2 and H2 significantly relies on Haber-Bosch process,which suffers from high energy consume and CO2 emission.As a sustainable and environmentally-benign alternative process,electrochemical artificial N2 fixation at ambient conditions,however,is highly required efficient electrocatalysts.In this study,we demonstrate that hexagonal boron nitride nanosheet (h-BNNS) is able to electrochemically catalyze N2 to NH3.In acidic solution,h-BNNS catalyst attains a high NH3 formation rate of 22.4 μg·h-1·mg-1cat.and a high Faradic efficiency of 4.7% at-0.75 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode,with excellent stability and durability.Density functional theory calculations reveal that unsaturated boron at the edge site can activate inert N2 molecule and significantly reduce the energy barrier for NH3 fonmation. 展开更多

Helium-3(3He)is a noble gas that has critical applications in scientific research and promising application potential as clean fusion energy.It is thought that the lunar regolith contains large amounts of helium,but it is challenging to extract because most helium atoms are reserved in defects of crystals or as solid solutions.Here,we find large amounts of helium bubbles in the glassy surface layer of ilmenite particles that were brought back by the Chang’E-5 mission.The special disordered atomic packing structure of glasses should be the critical factor for capturing the noble helium gas.The reserves in bubbles do not require heating to high temperatures to be extracted.Mechanical methods at ambient temperatures can easily break the bubbles.Our results provide insights into the mechanism of helium gathering on the moon and offer guidance on future in situ extraction. 展开更多

The edge-graphitized carbon nitride(C_(3)N_(4)-C g)was prepared by secondary pyrolysis to construct ZnO/C_(3)N_(4)-C g(ZCN)type-Ⅱheterojunction photocatalyst via a facile sonication dispersion method,which achieved∼7.04-fold and∼18.3-fold enhanced visible-light-driven photocatalytic performance for refrac-tory micropollutant removal and simultaneous hydrogen(H_(2))evolution respectively compared to con-ventional ZnO/g-C_(3)N_(4)Step-scheme heterojunction.The apparent quantum efficiency of the ZCN_(0.4)het-erojunction reaches 0.92%(λ=420 nm).Such excellent performance stems from that the edge-graphene moieties stitched onto the interface of heterojunction extend light absorption to the full visible spec-trum,meanwhile,the built-in electric field generated during Fermi level alignment accompanying fa-vorable band-bending structure provides an effective pathway for the rapid migration of photoinduced electrons via the edge graphene channel to improve interfacial charge separation efficiency.Interestingly,the midgap states introduced in ZCN heterojunction could temporarily retain photoexcited electrons to effectively inhibit the in situ carrier recombination for improved photocatalytic H_(2)evolution.Moreover,ZCN/peroxymonosulfate system exhibited excellent anti-interference performance against complex water bodies under visible illumination due to the synergistic effect between the co-existing anions and organic matter.Meanwhile,the eco-friendly nature of the ZCN/peroxymonosulfate system showed no biotoxicity of reaction filtrate on cell proliferation after treatment,which avoided secondary contamination.Consid-ering the outstanding performance in photocatalysis,the ZCN system exhibits broad potential for practical applications in water pollution control and green energy production. 展开更多

Photocatalytic reduction of CO_(2) into fuel represents a promising approach for achieving carbon neutrality,while realizing high selectivity in this process is challenging due to uncontrollable reaction intermediate and retarded desorption of target products.Engineering the interface microenvironment of catalysts has been proposed as a strategy to exert a significant influence on reaction outcomes,yet it remains a significant challenge.In this study,amino alkylation was successfully integrated into the melem unit of polymeric carbon nitrides(PCN),which could efficiently drive the photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction.Experimental characterization and theoretical calculations revealed that the introduction of amino alkylation lowers the energy barrier for CO_(2) reduction into^(*)COOH intermediate,transforming the adsorption of^(*)COOH intermediate from the endothermic to an exothermic process.Notably,the as-prepared materials demonstrated outstanding performance in photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction,yielding CO_(2)at a rate of 152.8μmol h^(-1) with a high selectivity of 95.4%and a quantum efficiency of 6.6%. 展开更多

New pollutant pharmaceutical and personal care products(PPCPs),especially antiviral drugs,have received increasing attention not only due to their increase in usage after the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemics but also due to their adverse impacts on water ecological environment.Electro-Fenton technology is an effective method to remove PPCPs from water.Novel particle electrodes(MMT/rGO/Fe_(3)O_(4))were synthesized by depositing Fe3O4 nanoparticles on reduced graphene oxide modified montmorillonite and acted as catalysts to promote oxidation performance in a three-dimensional electro-Fenton(3D-EF)system.The electrodes combined the catalytic property of Fe3O4,hydrophilicity of montmorillonite and electrical conductivity of graphene oxides,and applied for the degradation of Acyclovir(ACV)with high efficiency and ease of operation.At optimal condition,the degradation rate of ACV reached 100%within 120 min,and the applicable pH range could be 3 to 11 in the 3D-EF system.The stability and reusability of MMT/rGO/Fe_(3)O_(4)particle electrodes were also studied,the removal rate of ACV remained at 92%after 10 cycles,which was just slightly lower than that of the first cycle.Potential degradation mechanisms were also proposed by methanol quenching tests and FT-ICR-MS. 展开更多

Eclipta prostrata L.has been used in traditional medicine and known for its liver-protective properties for centuries.Wedelolactone(WEL)and demethylwedelolactone(DWEL)are the major coumarins found in E.prostrata L.However,the comprehensive characterization of these two compounds on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)still remains to be explored.Utilizing a well-established zebrafish model of thioacetamide(TAA)-induced liver injury,the present study sought to investigate the impacts and mechanisms of WEL and DWEL on NAFLD through integrative spatial metabolomics with liver-specific transcriptomics analysis.Our results showed that WEL and DWEL significantly improved liver function and reduced the accumulation of fat in the liver.The biodistributions and metabolism of these two compounds in whole-body zebrafish were successfully mapped,and the discriminatory endogenous metabolites reversely regulated by WEL and DWEL treatments were also characterized.Based on spatial metabolomics and transcriptomics,we identified that steroid biosynthesis and fatty acid metabolism are mainly involved in the hepatoprotective effects of WEL instead of DWEL.Our study unveils the distinct mechanism of WEL and DWEL in ameliorating NAFLD,and presents a“multi-omics”platform of spatial metabolomics and liver-specific transcriptomics to develop highly effective compounds for further improved therapy. 展开更多

Controlling the epitaxial growth mode of semiconductor layers is crucial for optimizing material properties and device performance.In this work,the growth mode ofα-Ga_(2)O_(3) heteroepitaxial layers was modulated by tuning miscut angles(θ)from 0°to 7°off the(1010)direction of sapphire(0002)substrate.On flat sapphire surfaces,the growth undergoes a typical three-dimensional(3D)growth mode due to the random nucleation on wide substrate terraces,as evidenced by the hillock morphology and high dislocation densities.As the miscut angle increases toθ=5°,the terrace width of sapphire substrate is comparable to the distance between neighboring nuclei,and consequently,the nucleation is guided by terrace edges,which energetically facilitates the growth mode transition into the desirable two-dimensional(2D)coherent growth.Consequently,the mean surface roughness decreases to only 0.62 nm,accompanied by a significant reduction in screw and edge dislocations to 0.16×10^(7) cm^(-2)and 3.58×10^(9) cm^(-2),respectively.However,the further increment of miscut angles toθ=7°shrink the terrace width less than nucleation distance,and the step-bunching growth mode is dominant.In this circumstance,the misfit strain is released in the initial growth stage,resulting in surface morphology degradation and increased dislocation densities. 展开更多

To ensure the export quality of Eucommia ulmoides leaf extract(ELE)and facilitate E.ulmoides leaf inclusion in the directory of traditional Chinese health foods,an overall safety assessment of ELE was performed,including genotoxicity and long-term toxicity,according to the national food safety standards of China.No variations in the reverse mutation number of the nominal bacterial strains were observed under ELE treatment in comparison with the solvent control.Additionally,the micronucleus rates of in vivo mammalian erythrocytes and in vitro mammalian cells under ELE treatment were equivalent to or significantly lower than those of the solvent control.The fold change in the trifluorothymidine resistance mutation frequency of the thymidine kinase gene under ELE treatment was less than three times in comparison with the solvent control,suggesting that ELE did not cause genotoxicity.Moreover,animal experiments showed that the growth performance of rats under ELE treatment was enhanced because the body weights of rats increased.No oxidative injury or inflammatory responses were induced and no histopathological lesions of tissues were detected under ELE treatment.In addition,plasma triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels significantly decreased,and plasma high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels significantly increased with ELE treatment,suggesting that ELE was health-promoting.Furthermore,moderate to excellent antimicrobial activities,a favorable anticancer capacity,and superior antioxidant abilities of ELE were found,implying ELE possesses good bioactivities.Therefore,we affirmed ELE is safe to consume as a traditional Chinese health food. 展开更多

A typical G-phase strengthened ferritic model alloy(1Ti:Fe-20Cr-3Ni-1Ti-3Si,wt.%)has been carefully studied using both advanced experimental(EBSD,TEM and APT)and theoretical(DFT)techniques.During the classic“solid solution and aging”process,the superfine(Fe,Ni)_(2)TiSi-L2_(1)particles densely precipitate within the ferritic grain and subsequently transform into the(Ni,Fe)_(16)Ti_(6)Si_(7)-G phase.In the meanwhile,the elemental segregation at grain boundaries and the resulting precipitation of a large amount of the(Ni,Fe)_(16)Ti_(6)Si_(7)-G phase are also observed.These nanoscale microstructural evolutions result in a remarkable increase in hardness(100-300 HV)and severe embrittlement.When the“cold rolling and aging”process is used,the brittle fracture is effectively suppressed without loss of nano-precipitation strengthening ef-fect.Superhigh yield strength of 1700 MPa with 4%elongation at break is achieved.This key improvement in mechanical properties is mainly attributed to the pre-cold rolling process which effectively avoids the dense precipitation of the G-phase at the grain boundary.These findings could shed light on the further exploration of the precipitation site via optimal processing strategies. 展开更多

Paper-based biosensors are widely employed in point-of-care testing(POCT)due to their convenience,portability,low cost,and ease of use.This study reports an integrated distance-based paper biosensor fabricated with a mesoporous membrane coated with stimuli-responsive polymer.The detection ofα-amylase(AMY)using amylopectin-coated mesoporous membrane is demonstrated as an example.After introducing the AMY solution,it is observed that the aqueous solution flows along the paper strip due to AMY-catalyzed hydrolysis of amylopectin.The flow distance is proportional to the concentration of AMY with a detection limit as low as 4 mU/mL.In addition,the detection of AMY is demonstrated in human serum.Furthermore,the inhibitory effect of acarbose on AMY is evaluated.This reagent-free and disposable biosensor allows single-step rapid detection of the analyte.This approach is very promising for the development of user-friendly,equipment-free,and cost-effective biosensors with remarkable sensitivity and excellent selectivity for disease diagnosis and hypoglycemic drug screening. 展开更多

Forest fires pose a significant threat to human life and property,so the utilization of unmanned aircraft systems provides new ways for forest firefighting.Given the constrained load capacities of these aircraft,aerial refueling becomes crucial to extend their operational time and range.In order to address the complexities of firefighting missions involving multi-receiver and multi-tanker deployed from various airports,first,a fuel consumption calculation model for aerial refueling scheduling is established based on the receiver path.Then,two distinct methods,including an integrated one and a decomposed one,are designed to address the challenges of establishing refueling airspace and allocating tasks for tankers.Both methods aim to optimize total fuel consumption of the receivers and tankers within the aerial refueling scheduling framework.The optimization problem is established as nonlinear optimization models along with restrictions.The integrated method seamlessly combines refueling rendezvous point scheduling and tanker task allocation into unified process.It has a complete solution space and excels in optimizing total fuel consumption.The decomposed method,through the separation of rendezvous point scheduling and task allocation,achieves a reduced computational complexity.However,this comes at the cost of sacrificing optimality by excluding specific feasible solutions.Finally,numerical simulations are carried out to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed methods.These simulations yield insights crucial for the practical engineering application of both the integrated and decomposed methods in real-world scenarios.This comprehensive approach aims to enhance the efficiency of forest firefighting operations,mitigating the risks posed by forest fires to human life and property. 展开更多

The spiral-wound heat exchanger(SWHE) is the primary low-temperature heat exchanger for large-scale LNG plants due to its high-pressure resistance, compact structure, and high heat exchange efficiency. This paper studied the shell-side heat and mass transfer characteristics of vapor-liquid two-phase mixed refrigerants in an SWHE by combining a multi-component model in FLUENT software with a customized multicomponent mass transfer model. Besides, the mathematical model under the sloshing condition was obtained through mathematical derivation, and the corresponding UDF code was loaded into FLUENT as the momentum source term. The results under the sloshing conditions were compared with the relevant parameters under the steady-state condition. The shell-side heat and mass transfer characteristics of the SWHE were investigated by adjusting the component ratio and other working conditions. It was found that the sloshing conditions enhance the heat transfer performance and sometimes have insignificant effects. The sloshing condition is beneficial to reduce the flow resistance. The comprehensive performance of multi-component refrigerants has been improved and the improvement is more significant under sloshing conditions, considering both the heat transfer and pressure drop.These results will provide theoretical support for the research and design of multi-component heat and mass transfer enhancement of LNG SWHE under ocean sloshing conditions. 展开更多

Freeze-induced acceleration of I–oxidation and the consequent iodination of dissolved organic matter(DOM)contribute to the formation of organoiodine compounds(OICs)in cold regions.The formed OICs may be a potentially important source of risk and are very closely with the environment and human health.Herein,we investigated the acceleration effects of the freeze process on I–oxidation and the formation of OICs.In comparison to reactive iodine species(RIS)formed in aqueous solutions,I–oxidation and RIS formation were greatly enhanced in frozen solution and were affected by pH,and the content of I–and O2.Freeze-thaw process further promoted I–oxidation and the concentration of RIS reached 45.7μmol/L after 6 freeze-thaw cycles.The consequent products of DOM iodination were greatly promoted in terms of both concentration and number.The total content of OICs ranged from 0.02 to 2.83μmol/L under various conditions.About 183–1197 OICs were detected by Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry,and more than 96.2%contained one or two iodine atoms.Most OICs had aromatic structures and were formed via substitution and addition reactions.Our findings reveal an important formation pathway for OICs and shed light on the biogeochemical cycling of iodine in the natural aquatic environment. 展开更多
