In order to resolve the problems of machining non-axisymmetric aspheric lens,which is short of flexibility in mould grinding and needs high accuracy CNC machine center in globediamond wheel grinding, a new parallel grinding method that utilizes common arc diamond wheel isput forward. Base on the approach calculation of machining locus, the advantages of parallelgrinding that machines non-axisymmetric aspheric lens by 2.5-axis CNC machine center have beenobtained. The results of grinding experiment show the new method can meet the need of grinding highaccuracy non-axisymmetric aspheric lens. 展开更多

Having taken account of the complex nonlinearcharacteristics of the CVT shift dynamics and the saturation and nonlinear characteristics of thespeed ratio control valve, the speed ratio fuzzy controller based on the speed ratio feedback isdesigned. The primary task of top-down assembly design is to define a product抯 detailed physical description satisfying its functional requirements identified during the functional design phase. The implementation of this design process requires two things, that is, product functional representation and a general assembly model. Product functions are not only the formulation of a customer抯 needs, but also the input data of assembly design. A general assembly model is to support the evolving process of the elaboration of a product structure. The assembly feature of extended concept is taken as a functional carrier, which is a generic relation among assembly-modeled entities. The model of assembly features describes the link between product functions and form features of parts. On the basis of this link, the propagation of design modifications is discussed so as to preserve the functionality and the coherence of the assembly model. The formal model of assembly design process describes the top-down process of creating an assembly model. This formal model is represented by the combination of assembly feature operations, the assembly model and the evaluation process. A design case study is conducted to verify the applicability of the presented approaches. 展开更多

On the basis of analyzing the system constitution of vehicle semi-active suspension, a 4-DOF (degree of freedom) dynamic model is established. A tunable fuzzy logic controller is designed by using without quantification method and taking into account the uncertainty, nonlinearity and complexity of parameters for a vehicle suspension system. Simulation to test the performance of this controller is performed under random excitations and definite disturbances of a C grade road, and the effects of time delay and changes of system parameters on the vehicle suspension system are researched. The numerical simulation shows that the performance of the designed tunable fuzzy logic controller is effective, stable and reliable. 展开更多

The methodology of 5-axis cutter selection to avert collision for free-form surface machining by flat-end cutters is presented. The combination of different cutters is adopt aiming at short machining time and high precision. The optimal small cutter is determined based on the geometric information of the points where a cutter most probably collide with the machined surface. Several larger cutters are selected to machine the surface in order to find the interference-free area. The difference of machining time for this area between the optimal small cutter and the large cutters is calculated. The functional relationship between the machining time and the radius of a cutter is established, by which the optimal number of cutters is obtained. The combination of cutters, which possesses the minimum overall machining time, is selected as the optimal cutter sizes. A case study has demonstrated the validity of the proposed methodology and algorithms. 展开更多

A new type of linear rotary magnetorheological damper (MRD) is proposed, which consists of a cylinder-type MRD and a screw mechanism to transform a linear motion into revolving motion. It is found that the structure parameters of MRD have complex relationship with the force of the damper, especially the lead angle, width and radius of the inner rotor. The analyses and simulation calculation of the static magnetic field give some usable data, and experiments of the damping component indicate that the proposed methods is feasible for developing linear rotary MRD. 展开更多
