By synthetically considering the size of energy density, the frequency of energy level and the stability of energy density, the resources of wind energy and wave energy in the East China Sea and South China Sea were analyzed and regionalized. METHODS : Forty-one patients with gastric cancer (12 early stage and 29 advanced stage) proved by esophagogastroduodenoscopy and biopsies preoperatively evaluated with EUS according to TNM (1997) classification of International Union Contrele Cancer (UICC). Pentax EG-3630U/Hitachi EUB-525 echo endoscope with real-time ultrasound imaging linear scanning transducers (7.5 and 5.0 MHz) and Doppler information was used in the current study. EUS staging procedures for tumor depth of invasion (T stage) were performed according to the widely accepted five-layer structure of the gastric wall. All patients underwent surgery. Diagnostic accuracy of EUS for TNM staging of gastric cancer was determined by comparing preoperative EUS with subsequent postoperative histopathologic findings. RESULTS: The overall diagnostic accuracy of EUS in preoperative determination of cancer depth of invasion was 68.3% (41/28) and 83.3% (12/10), 60% (20/12), 100% (5/5), 25% (4/1) for T1, T2, T3, and T4, respectively. The rates for overstaging and understaging were 24.4% (41110), and 7.3% (4113), respectively. EUS tended to overstage T criteria, and main reasons for overstaging were thickening of the gastric wall due to perifocal inflammatory change, and absence of serosal layer in certain areas of the stomach. The diagnostic accuracy of metastatic lymph node involvement or N staging of EUS was 100% (17/17) for NO and 41.7% (24/10) for N+, respectively, and 66% (41127) overall.Misdiagnosing of the metastatic lymph nodes was related to the difficulty of distinguishing inflammatory lymph nodes from malignant lymph nodes, which imitate similar echo features. Predominant location and distribution of tumors in the stomach were in the antrum (20 patients), and the lesser curvature (17 patients), respectively. An example of these biomarkers is triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cell-1 (TREM-1), which is a cell surface receptor expressed on monocytes/macrophages and neutrophils. TREM-1 amplifies inflammation by activating the TREM-1/DAP12 pathway. This pathway is triggered by the interaction of TREM-1 with ligands or stimulation by bacterial lipopolysaccharide. Consequently, pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines are secreted. Soluble TREM-1 (sTREM-1) is a special form of TREM-1 that can be directly tested in human body fluids and well-known biomarker for infectious diseases, sTREM-1 level can be potentially used for the early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of some infectious diseases, including infectious pleural effusion, lung infections, sepsis, bacterial meningitis, viral infections (e.g., Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever and dengue fever), fungal infections (e.g., Aspergillus infection), and burn-related infections, sTREM-1 is a more sensitive and specific biomarker than traditional indices, such as C-reactive protein and procalcitonin levels, for these infectious diseases. In this report, we provided biochemical and genetic evidence to show that the Arabidopsis thaliana NAC family proteins ANAC019 and ANAC055 might function as transcription activators to regulate JA-induced expression of defense genes. The role of the two NAC genes in JA signaling was examined with the anacO19 anac055 double mutant and with transgenic plants overexpressing ANACO19 or ANAC055. The anacO19 anac055 double mutant plants showed attenuated JA-induced VEGETATIVE STORAGE PROTEIN1 (VSP1) and LIPOXYGENASE2 (LOX2) expression, whereas transgenic plants overexpressing the two NAC genes showed enhanced JA-induced VSP1 and LOX2 expression. That the JA-induced expression of the two NAC genes depends on the function of COIl and AtMYC2, together with the finding that overexpression of ANACO19 partially rescued the JA-related phenotype of the atmyc2-2 mutant, has led us to a hypothesis that the two NAC proteins act downstream of AtMYC2 to regulate JA-signaled defense responses. Further evidence to substantiate this idea comes from the observation that the response of the anacO19 anac055 double mutant to a necrotrophic fungus showed high similarity to that of the atmyc2-2 mutant.展开更多

This is particularly the case in Central-Eastern China (CEC), where the two m...With its dense population, rapid economic growth and dramatic rate of urbanization, China is experiencing extreme air pollution problems. This is particularly the case in Central-Eastern China (CEC), where the two major cities of Beijing and Tianjin are located, in the Yangtze-River Delta (YRD) with the city of Shanghai, and in the Pearl-River Delta (PRD) with the mega-city of Gnangzhou. Space observations show that the atmospheric aerosol load in these three regions is considerably higher than, for example, in the urbanized regions of Europe and North America. The high aerosol concentrations in these regions have raised many environmental problems, such as impact on human health, visibility, and climate changes. In this paper, several crucial issues regarding aerosol pollution in these highly populated regions (CEC, YRD, and PRD) are discussed, including (1) when the aerosol load starts to rapidly increase in these regions; (2) how the high aerosol concentrations affects the environment; and (3) what the potential consequences are under possible low aerosol load in these regions. Discussion on these crucial issues might lead to some insight for better understanding of the characterizations of aerosol pollution due to the rapid economical development in China.展开更多

With the establishment of several phase Ⅱ studies, a new trend has been developed toward the use of CRS plus IPHC as a standard method for treating selected patients with PC, in whom sufficient cytoreduction could be achieved. In spite of the need for more high quality phase Ⅲ studies, there is now a consensus among many surgical oncology experts throughout the world about the use of this new treatment strategy as standard care for colorectal cancer patients with PC. The emphasis of the model's description is put on the following two aspects:(1) A model's standard atmosphere, which is a satisfactory approximation to the observed troposphere and lower stratosphere standard atmosphere, is introduced into the equations of the model to permit a more accurate calculation of the vertical transport terms, especially near the tropopause; (2) The vertical levels of the model are carefully selected to guarantee a smooth dependence of layer thickness upon pressure in order to reduce the truncation error involved in the unequal interval vertical finite-differencing. For testing the model, two kinds of linear baroclinic Rossby-Haurwitz waves, one of which has a dynamically stable vertical structure and the other has a relatively unstable one, are constructed to provide initial conditions for numerical experiments. The two waves have been integrated for more than 300 days and 100 days respectively by using the model and both of them are propagating westward with almost identical phase-speed during the time period of the integrations. No obvious change of the wave patterns is found at the levels in the model's troposphere. The amplitudes of both two waves at the uppermost level, however, exhibit rather significant oscillation with time, of which the periods are exactly 20 days and 25 days espectively.The explanation of this interesting phenomena is still under investigation.展开更多

They are interpreted as subduction-related granitic rocks, which is the first report that the isotopic ages for the granitic rocks range from 350 to 390 Ma. Another determined age for the Kalasayi monodiorite porphyry is 408±9 Ma, representing the age of underlain Lower Devonian volcanic rocks. Thus, the U-Pb dates suggest that the northeastward subduction of Junggar ocean from southwest occurred at 408 to 376 Ma (the real inter- val may be larger). Because the ore-bearing porphyry intruded following the formation of the volcanic rocks of middle Devonian Beitashan Formation, their tec- tonic setting is similar to the Andes Mountains that hosts world-class porphyry copper deposits, and the researched area could be regarded as a potential area for prospecting large porphyry copper deposits.展开更多

Volcanic rocks in the Jin-niu Basin are distributed mainly in the Majiashan Formation,the Lingxiang Formation and the Dasi Formation,consisting of rhyolite,basalt and basaltic andesite,(trachy)-basalt and basaltic trachy-andesite and (trachy)-andesite and (trachy)-dacite and rhyolite respectively,in which the Dasi volcanism is volumet-rically dominant and widespread. The Dasi volcanic rocks were selected for SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating to confirm the timing of volcanism. The results indi-cate that there exist a large amount of magmatic zir-cons characterized by high U and Th contents in the volcanic rocks. The concordia ages for 13 points are 128 ± 1Ma (MSWD = 3.0). On account of the shape of zircons and Th/U ratios,this age is considered to represent the crystallization time of the Dasi volcan-ism. The volcanic rocks in the Dasi,Majiashan and Lingxiang Formations share similar trace elementand REE partition patterns as well as Sr-Nd isotopic compositions. In combination with the regional geol-ogy,it is proposed that the southeast Hubei volcanic rocks were formed mainly during the Early Creta-ceous,just like other volcanic basins in middle-lower Yangtze valley. A lithospheric extension is also sug-gested for tectonic regime in this region in the Cre-taceous Period.展开更多

Transport of high mole...The contents and distribution of 20 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heterocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (HAHs) were investigated in 16 soil profiles of Beijing and Tianjin region. Transport of high molecular weight PAHs (HMWPAHs) and the correlation between total organic carbon (TOC) and their concentrations were also discussed. The results indicated that highly contaminated sites were located at urban or wastewater irrigation areas and pollutants mainly accumulated in topsoil (〈 40 cm), with a sharp content decrease at the vertical boundary of 30-40 cm. Total PAHs/HAHs concentrations in soils from Tianjin were markedly greater than those from Beijing. Even the contents at bottoms of soil profiles in Tianjin were higher than those in topsoils of Beijing soil profile. HMWPAHs dominated the PAH profiles, exhibiting a uniform distribution of pyrogenic origin between topsoils and deep layers. Furthermore, the percentages of HMWPAHs remained relative constant with the depth of soil profiles, which were consistent with the distribution of particulate matter-associated PAHs in the local atmospheric environments. Therefore, HMWPAHs transport with particulates might be the predominant source found in soil profiles.展开更多
AIM: To evaluate the impact of splenectomy on longterm survival, postoperative morbidity and mortality of patients with gastric cancer by performing a metaanalysis METHODS: A search of electronic databases to identi...AIM: To evaluate the impact of splenectomy on longterm survival, postoperative morbidity and mortality of patients with gastric cancer by performing a metaanalysis METHODS: A search of electronic databases to identify randomized controlled trials in The Cochrane Library trials register, Mediine, CBMdisc (Chinese Biomedical Database) and J-STAGE, etc was performed. Data was extracted from the studies by 2 independent reviewers. Outcome measures were survival, postoperative morbidity and mortality and operation-related events. The meta-analyses were performed by RevMan 4.3. RESULTS: Three studies comprising 466 patients were available for analysis, with 231 patients treated by gastrectomy plus splenectomy. Splenectomy could not increase the 5-year overall survival rate [RR = 1.17, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.97-1.41]. The postoperative morbidity (RR = 1.76, 95% CI 0.82-3.80) or mortality (RR = 1.58, 95% CI 0.45-5.50) did not suggest any significant differences between the 2 groups. No significant differences were noted in terms of number of harvested lymph nodes, operation time, length of hospital stay and reoperation rate. Subgroup analyses showed splenectomy did not increase the survival rate for proximal and whole gastric cancer. No obvious differences were observed between the 2 groups when stratified by stage. Sensitivity analyses indicated no significant differences regarding the survival rates (P 〉 0.05). CONCLUSION: Splenectomy did not show a beneficial effect on survival rates compared to splenic preservation. Routinely performing splenectomy should not be recommended.展开更多

The ACLF patients were diagnosed according to the criteria recommended by The 19th Conference of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver in 2009. Twenty healthy individuals with a similar gender and age structures to the two patient groups were also included as the normal controls (NC). Of the 50 ACLF patients, 28 were subsequently classified as non-survivors: 19 patients died from multiorgan failure, 3 underwent liver transplantation, and 6 discontinued therapy during follow-up because of financial reasons. The remaining 22 ACLF patients whose liver and anticoagulation function recovered to nearly normal levels within the next 6 mo were classified as survivors. The number of circulating Treg and Th17 cells was determined upon diagnosis and during the 8th week of follow-up through flow cytometry. RESULTS: The percentage of circulating Treg cells in the ACLF group was significantly higher than that in the CHB group (5.50% ± 1.15% vs 3.30% ± 1.13%, P < 0.01). The percentages of circulating Th17 cells in the ACLF and the CHB groups were significantly higher than that in the NC group (6.32% ± 2.22% vs 1.56% ± 0.44%, P < 0.01; 3.53% ± 1.65% vs 1.56% ± 0.44%, P < 0.01). No significant difference in Treg cell to Th17 cell ratio was observed between the ACLF group and the CHB group (0.98 ± 0.44 vs 1.12 ± 0.64, P = 0.991), whereas those in the two HBV infection groups were significantly lower than that in the NC group (1.85 ± 1.22; both P < 0.01). Background Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been identified as the first therapeutic option for patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The strategy of transferr...Background Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been identified as the first therapeutic option for patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The strategy of transferring patient to a PCI center was recently recommended for those with acute STEMI who were present to PCI incapable hospitals, which include lack of facilities or experienced operators. In China, some local hospitals have been equipped with PCI facilities, but they have no interventional physicians qualified for performing primary PCI. This study was conducted to assess the feasibility, safety and efficacy of the strategy of transferring physician to a PCI-equipped hospital to perform primary PCI for patients with acute STEMI. Methods Three hundred and thirty-four consecutive STEMI patients with symptom presentation 〈12 hours in five local hospitals from November 2005 to November 2007 were randomized to receive primary PCI by either physician transfer (physician transfer group, n=165) or patient transfer (patient transfer group, n=169) strategy. Door-to-balloon time, in-hospital and 30-day major adverse cardiac events (MACE, including death, non-fatal re-infarction, and target vessel revascularization) were compared between the two groups. Results Baseline characteristics between the two groups were comparable. Thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) 3 flow was revealed in more patients in the physician transfer group at initial angiography (17.6% vs 10.1%, P〈0.05). The success rate of primary PCI (96.3% vs 95.4%, P〉0.05) and length of hospital stay were similar between the two groups ((15±4) days vs (14±3) days, P〉0.05). In the physician transfer group, door-to-balloon time was significantly shortened ((95±20) minutes vs (147±29) minutes, P〈0.0001) and more patients received primary PCI with door-to-balloon time less than 90 minutes (21.2% vs 7.7%, P〈0.001). We aimed to evaluate the impact of different clinical pathways on reduction of reperfusion delay and subsequent improvement in outcomes in patients with STEMI. Methods From November 2005 to November 2007, 546 consecutive patients with definite STEMI, who upon arrival at the emergency room were triaged to undergo primary PCI, were included. Of them, 271 patients were brought directly to catheterization laboratory (rapid group), and 275 patients were admitted to the coronary care unit (CCU) or cardiac ward first, and then transferred to the catheterization laboratory (non-rapid group). Primary endpoint was door-to-balloon (D2B) time, and secondary endpoints included infarct size assessed by peak CK-MB level and rates of major cardiac adverse events (MACE) including death, reinfarction, or target-vessel revascularization during hospitalization and at 30-day clinical follow-up.Results Baseline clinical characteristics, angiographic features and procedural success rates were comparable between the two groups, except that more patients received glycoprotein lib/Ilia receptor inhibitors before angiography (84.0% and 77.1, P=0.042) and had TIMI 3 flow in the culprit vessel at initial angiogram (17.1% and 9.2%, P=0.007) in the non-rapid group. The D2B time was shortened ((108±44) minutes and (138±31) minutes, P 〈0.0001), and number of patients with D2B time 〈90 minutes was greater (22.6% and 10.9%, P 〈0.0001) in the rapid group. The advantages associated with rapid intra-hospital transfer were enhanced if the patients presented to the hospital at regular hours. Peak CK-MB level was significantly reduced in the rapid group. METHODS: From June 2006 to March 2009, laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnect...AIM: To compare the outcomes of laparoscopic and open splenectomy and azygoportal devascularization for portal hypertension. METHODS: From June 2006 to March 2009, laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection (LSD) were performed on 28 patients with cirrhosis, bleeding due to portal hypertension, and secondary hypersplenism. Success was achieved in 26 patients. Demographic, intraoperative, and postoperative variables of the patients were compared. RESULTS: Success of laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection was achieved in all but two patients (7.14%) who required open splenectomy and azygoportal devascularization (OSD). The operation time was significantly longer in patients undergoing LSD than in those undergoing OSD (235 ± 36 min vs 178 ± 47 rain, P 〈 0.05). The estimated intraoperative blood loss was much more in patients receiving OSD than in those receiving LSD (420 ± 50 mL vs 200 ± 30 mL, P 〈 0.01). The proportion of patients undergoing laparoscopic and open splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection who received transfusion of packed red blood cells during or after the operation was 23.08% and 38.46%, respectively (P 〈 0.05). The time of first oral intake was faster in patients after LSD than in those after OSD (1.5 ± 0.7 d vs 3.5 ± 1.6 d, P 〈 0.05). The hospital stay of patients after LSD was shorter than that of patients after OSD (6.5 ± 2.3 d vs 11.7 ± 4.5 d, P 〈 0.05). The pain requiring medication was less severe in patients after LSD than in those after OSD (7.69% vs 73.08%, P 〈 0.001). The overall complication rate was lower in patients after LSD than in those after OSD (19.23% vs 42.31%, P 〈 0.05).CONCLUSION: Laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection are the feasible, effective, and safe surgical procedure, and are advantageous over minimally invasive surgery for bleeding portal hypertension and hypersplenism.展开更多

Baicalin, an herb-derived flavonoid compound, has been previously shown...The increased proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) are key events in the development of atherosclerotic lesions. Baicalin, an herb-derived flavonoid compound, has been previously shown to induce apoptosis and growth inhibition in cancer cells through multiple pathways. However, the potential role of baicalin in regulation of VSMC proliferation and prevention of cardiovascular diseases remains unexplored. In this study, we show that pretreatment with baicalin has a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on PDGF-BB-stimulated VSMC pro- liferation, accompanied with the reduction of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) expression. We also show that baicalin-induced growth inhibition is associated with a decrease in cyclin E-CDK2 activation and increase in p27 level in PDGF-stimulated VSMCs, which appears to be at least partly mediated by blockade of PDGF recep- tor [~ (PDGFR~)-extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) signaling. In addition, baicalin was also found to inhibit adhesion molecule expression and cell migration induced by PDGF-BB in VSMCs. Furthermore, using an animal carotid arterial balloon-injury model, we found that baicalin significantly inhibited neointimal hyperplasia. Taken together, our results reveal a novel function of baicalin in inducing growth arrest of PDGF-stimulated VSMCs and suppressing neointimal hyperplasia after balloon injury, and suggest that the underlying mechanism involves the inhibition of cyclin E-CDK2 activation and the increase in p27 accumulation via blockade of the PDGFR^-ERK1/2 signaling cascade.展开更多
Objective To compare the perioperative outcomes of patients with primary hepatic carcinoma treated with laparoscopic hepatectomy(LH) with those treated with open hepatectomy(OH). Methods From January 2010 to August 20...Objective To compare the perioperative outcomes of patients with primary hepatic carcinoma treated with laparoscopic hepatectomy(LH) with those treated with open hepatectomy(OH). Methods From January 2010 to August 2014, 100 patients with primary hepatic carcinoma were randomly divided into the LH group and OH group respectively, 50 patients in each group. And the incision length, blood loss, operative time, postoperative liver function, anus exhaust time, complications, length of postoperative hospital stay, and cost measures were compared. Results LH could achieve shorter incision length, less blood loss, more rapid recovery in liver function and gastrointestinal function, and shorter postoperative hospital stay length compared with OH for primary hepatic carcinoma patients(all P<0.05). However, LH could not significantly shorten operative time, and reduce postoperative complications and hospitalization cost(all P>0.05). Conclusion Compared with OH, LH could improve perioperative outcomes of primary hepatic carcinoma patients.展开更多

文摘In this paper, the third-generation wave model WAVEWATCH-Ⅲ (WW3) was used to simulate the wave field of the East China Sea and South China Sea from January 1988 to December 2009, with wind input of CCMP wind field. Then, the wind energy density and wave energy density were calculated by using the simulated 22-years' wave-field data and CCMP data. By synthetically considering the size of energy density, the frequency of energy level and the stability of energy density, the resources of wind energy and wave energy in the East China Sea and South China Sea were analyzed and regionalized. The result can be a guide to searching location of wind & wave power plant.
文摘AIM: To evaluate the value of endoscopic ultrasono- graphy (EUS) in the preoperative TNM staging of gastric cancer. METHODS : Forty-one patients with gastric cancer (12 early stage and 29 advanced stage) proved by esophagogastroduodenoscopy and biopsies preoperatively evaluated with EUS according to TNM (1997) classification of International Union Contrele Cancer (UICC). Pentax EG-3630U/Hitachi EUB-525 echo endoscope with real-time ultrasound imaging linear scanning transducers (7.5 and 5.0 MHz) and Doppler information was used in the current study. EUS staging procedures for tumor depth of invasion (T stage) were performed according to the widely accepted five-layer structure of the gastric wall. All patients underwent surgery. Diagnostic accuracy of EUS for TNM staging of gastric cancer was determined by comparing preoperative EUS with subsequent postoperative histopathologic findings. RESULTS: The overall diagnostic accuracy of EUS in preoperative determination of cancer depth of invasion was 68.3% (41/28) and 83.3% (12/10), 60% (20/12), 100% (5/5), 25% (4/1) for T1, T2, T3, and T4, respectively. The rates for overstaging and understaging were 24.4% (41110), and 7.3% (4113), respectively. EUS tended to overstage T criteria, and main reasons for overstaging were thickening of the gastric wall due to perifocal inflammatory change, and absence of serosal layer in certain areas of the stomach. The diagnostic accuracy of metastatic lymph node involvement or N staging of EUS was 100% (17/17) for NO and 41.7% (24/10) for N+, respectively, and 66% (41127) overall.Misdiagnosing of the metastatic lymph nodes was related to the difficulty of distinguishing inflammatory lymph nodes from malignant lymph nodes, which imitate similar echo features. Predominant location and distribution of tumors in the stomach were in the antrum (20 patients), and the lesser curvature (17 patients), respectively. 文摘Sensitive and useful biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of infectious diseases have been widely developed. An example of these biomarkers is triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cell-1 (TREM-1), which is a cell surface receptor expressed on monocytes/macrophages and neutrophils. TREM-1 amplifies inflammation by activating the TREM-1/DAP12 pathway. This pathway is triggered by the interaction of TREM-1 with ligands or stimulation by bacterial lipopolysaccharide. Consequently, pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines are secreted. Soluble TREM-1 (sTREM-1) is a special form of TREM-1 that can be directly tested in human body fluids and well-known biomarker for infectious diseases, sTREM-1 level can be potentially used for the early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of some infectious diseases, including infectious pleural effusion, lung infections, sepsis, bacterial meningitis, viral infections (e.g., Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever and dengue fever), fungal infections (e.g., Aspergillus infection), and burn-related infections, sTREM-1 is a more sensitive and specific biomarker than traditional indices, such as C-reactive protein and procalcitonin levels, for these infectious diseases. Therefore, sTREM-1 is a feasible biomarker for the targeted therapy and rapid and early diagnosis of infectious diseases.

文摘Jasmonic acid (JA) is an important phytohormone that regulates plant defense responses against herbivore attack, pathogen infection and mechanical wounding. In this report, we provided biochemical and genetic evidence to show that the Arabidopsis thaliana NAC family proteins ANAC019 and ANAC055 might function as transcription activators to regulate JA-induced expression of defense genes. The role of the two NAC genes in JA signaling was examined with the anacO19 anac055 double mutant and with transgenic plants overexpressing ANACO19 or ANAC055. The anacO19 anac055 double mutant plants showed attenuated JA-induced VEGETATIVE STORAGE PROTEIN1 (VSP1) and LIPOXYGENASE2 (LOX2) expression, whereas transgenic plants overexpressing the two NAC genes showed enhanced JA-induced VSP1 and LOX2 expression. That the JA-induced expression of the two NAC genes depends on the function of COIl and AtMYC2, together with the finding that overexpression of ANACO19 partially rescued the JA-related phenotype of the atmyc2-2 mutant, has led us to a hypothesis that the two NAC proteins act downstream of AtMYC2 to regulate JA-signaled defense responses. Further evidence to substantiate this idea comes from the observation that the response of the anacO19 anac055 double mutant to a necrotrophic fungus showed high similarity to that of the atmyc2-2 mutant.

文摘With its dense population, rapid economic growth and dramatic rate of urbanization, China is experiencing extreme air pollution problems. This is particularly the case in Central-Eastern China (CEC), where the two major cities of Beijing and Tianjin are located, in the Yangtze-River Delta (YRD) with the city of Shanghai, and in the Pearl-River Delta (PRD) with the mega-city of Gnangzhou. Space observations show that the atmospheric aerosol load in these three regions is considerably higher than, for example, in the urbanized regions of Europe and North America. The high aerosol concentrations in these regions have raised many environmental problems, such as impact on human health, visibility, and climate changes. In this paper, several crucial issues regarding aerosol pollution in these highly populated regions (CEC, YRD, and PRD) are discussed, including (1) when the aerosol load starts to rapidly increase in these regions; (2) how the high aerosol concentrations affects the environment; and (3) what the potential consequences are under possible low aerosol load in these regions. Discussion on these crucial issues might lead to some insight for better understanding of the characterizations of aerosol pollution due to the rapid economical development in China.

文摘This article is to offer a concise review on the use of cytoreductive surgery (CRS) plus intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy (IPHC) for the treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC). Traditionally, PC was treated with systemic chemotherapy alone with very poor response and a median survival of less than 6 too. With the establishment of several phase Ⅱ studies, a new trend has been developed toward the use of CRS plus IPHC as a standard method for treating selected patients with PC, in whom sufficient cytoreduction could be achieved. In spite of the need for more high quality phase Ⅲ studies, there is now a consensus among many surgical oncology experts throughout the world about the use of this new treatment strategy as standard care for colorectal cancer patients with PC. This review summarizes the current status and possible progress in future.
文摘The dynamical framework of the nine-level version of the IAP AGCM is presented in this paper. The emphasis of the model's description is put on the following two aspects:(1) A model's standard atmosphere, which is a satisfactory approximation to the observed troposphere and lower stratosphere standard atmosphere, is introduced into the equations of the model to permit a more accurate calculation of the vertical transport terms, especially near the tropopause; (2) The vertical levels of the model are carefully selected to guarantee a smooth dependence of layer thickness upon pressure in order to reduce the truncation error involved in the unequal interval vertical finite-differencing. For testing the model, two kinds of linear baroclinic Rossby-Haurwitz waves, one of which has a dynamically stable vertical structure and the other has a relatively unstable one, are constructed to provide initial conditions for numerical experiments. The two waves have been integrated for more than 300 days and 100 days respectively by using the model and both of them are propagating westward with almost identical phase-speed during the time period of the integrations. No obvious change of the wave patterns is found at the levels in the model's troposphere. The amplitudes of both two waves at the uppermost level, however, exhibit rather significant oscillation with time, of which the periods are exactly 20 days and 25 days espectively.The explanation of this interesting phenomena is still under investigation.

文摘SHRIMP U-Pb zircon dating on the Xileketehalasu granodiorite porphyry and Kalasayi monodiorite porphyry that intrude middle Devonian Beitashan Formation at the north part of east Junggar region shows that they were formed at 381±6 Ma and 376±10 Ma respectively. They are interpreted as subduction-related granitic rocks, which is the first report that the isotopic ages for the granitic rocks range from 350 to 390 Ma. Another determined age for the Kalasayi monodiorite porphyry is 408±9 Ma, representing the age of underlain Lower Devonian volcanic rocks. Thus, the U-Pb dates suggest that the northeastward subduction of Junggar ocean from southwest occurred at 408 to 376 Ma (the real inter- val may be larger). Because the ore-bearing porphyry intruded following the formation of the volcanic rocks of middle Devonian Beitashan Formation, their tec- tonic setting is similar to the Andes Mountains that hosts world-class porphyry copper deposits, and the researched area could be regarded as a potential area for prospecting large porphyry copper deposits.

文摘The Jinniu Basin in southeast Hubei,located at the westernmost part of middle-lower val-ley of the Yangtze River,is one of the important vol-canic basins in East China. Volcanic rocks in the Jin-niu Basin are distributed mainly in the Majiashan Formation,the Lingxiang Formation and the Dasi Formation,consisting of rhyolite,basalt and basaltic andesite,(trachy)-basalt and basaltic trachy-andesite and (trachy)-andesite and (trachy)-dacite and rhyolite respectively,in which the Dasi volcanism is volumet-rically dominant and widespread. The Dasi volcanic rocks were selected for SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating to confirm the timing of volcanism. The results indi-cate that there exist a large amount of magmatic zir-cons characterized by high U and Th contents in the volcanic rocks. The concordia ages for 13 points are 128 ± 1Ma (MSWD = 3.0). On account of the shape of zircons and Th/U ratios,this age is considered to represent the crystallization time of the Dasi volcan-ism. The volcanic rocks in the Dasi,Majiashan and Lingxiang Formations share similar trace elementand REE partition patterns as well as Sr-Nd isotopic compositions. In combination with the regional geol-ogy,it is proposed that the southeast Hubei volcanic rocks were formed mainly during the Early Creta-ceous,just like other volcanic basins in middle-lower Yangtze valley. A lithospheric extension is also sug-gested for tectonic regime in this region in the Cre-taceous Period.

文摘Zircon U-Pb dating of early Paleozoic granitoids in North Qinling yields three age peaks of^500,~452 and^420 Ma.They can be temporally correlated with high-pressure to ultrahigh-pressure metamorphism at ca.500 Ma,retrograde granulite-facies metamorphisms at ca.450 Ma and amphibolite-facies metamorphism at ca.420 Ma,respectively.The first episode of granitic magmatism is considered to have resulted from continental collision,whereas the second and third episodes of magmatism are attributed to crustal uplifting.Combined with the regional geological setting and new results from high-pressure and ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic rocks,the ca.500 Ma magmatism is interpreted as the result of partial melting of sedimentary rocks in accretionary wedge between the south Qinling microcontinent and the north Qinling belt including the southern margin of the North China Craton.The ca.450 Ma intensive magmatism is ascribed to dehydration melting of deeply subducted continental crust at thickened conditions in response to slab breakoff,and the final magmatism in ca.420 Ma is interpreted as the product of partial melting during the tectonic transition from contraction to extension.
文摘Sm-Nd isotopic ages for C-type eclogite (243.9±5.6 Ma) and mafic and ultramafic rocks(230.6±30.7 Ma and 402.6±17.4 Ma) from the Qinling-Dabieshan orogenic belt are reported.These ages suggest that at the early Triassic, the North and South China Blocks have beenunited along the Qinling-Dabieshan collision zone, and before the final collision, a se-ries of ophiolite obductions took place successively away from the continental marginduring the Paleozoic.

文摘The contents and distribution of 20 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heterocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (HAHs) were investigated in 16 soil profiles of Beijing and Tianjin region. Transport of high molecular weight PAHs (HMWPAHs) and the correlation between total organic carbon (TOC) and their concentrations were also discussed. The results indicated that highly contaminated sites were located at urban or wastewater irrigation areas and pollutants mainly accumulated in topsoil (〈 40 cm), with a sharp content decrease at the vertical boundary of 30-40 cm. Total PAHs/HAHs concentrations in soils from Tianjin were markedly greater than those from Beijing. Even the contents at bottoms of soil profiles in Tianjin were higher than those in topsoils of Beijing soil profile. HMWPAHs dominated the PAH profiles, exhibiting a uniform distribution of pyrogenic origin between topsoils and deep layers. Furthermore, the percentages of HMWPAHs remained relative constant with the depth of soil profiles, which were consistent with the distribution of particulate matter-associated PAHs in the local atmospheric environments. Therefore, HMWPAHs transport with particulates might be the predominant source found in soil profiles.

文摘AIM: To evaluate the impact of splenectomy on longterm survival, postoperative morbidity and mortality of patients with gastric cancer by performing a metaanalysis METHODS: A search of electronic databases to identify randomized controlled trials in The Cochrane Library trials register, Mediine, CBMdisc (Chinese Biomedical Database) and J-STAGE, etc was performed. Data was extracted from the studies by 2 independent reviewers. Outcome measures were survival, postoperative morbidity and mortality and operation-related events. The meta-analyses were performed by RevMan 4.3. RESULTS: Three studies comprising 466 patients were available for analysis, with 231 patients treated by gastrectomy plus splenectomy. Splenectomy could not increase the 5-year overall survival rate [RR = 1.17, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.97-1.41]. The postoperative morbidity (RR = 1.76, 95% CI 0.82-3.80) or mortality (RR = 1.58, 95% CI 0.45-5.50) did not suggest any significant differences between the 2 groups. No significant differences were noted in terms of number of harvested lymph nodes, operation time, length of hospital stay and reoperation rate. Subgroup analyses showed splenectomy did not increase the survival rate for proximal and whole gastric cancer. No obvious differences were observed between the 2 groups when stratified by stage. Sensitivity analyses indicated no significant differences regarding the survival rates (P 〉 0.05). CONCLUSION: Splenectomy did not show a beneficial effect on survival rates compared to splenic preservation. Routinely performing splenectomy should not be recommended.

文摘AIM: To investigate the role of T helper 17 cells (Th17) and regulatory T cells (Treg) in hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF).METHODS: We enrolled 79 patients with HBV infection into the study, 50 patients with HBV-related ACLF and 29 patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB), from the First Affiliated Hospital of Medical College from January 2009 to June 2012. The ACLF patients were diagnosed according to the criteria recommended by The 19th Conference of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver in 2009. Twenty healthy individuals with a similar gender and age structures to the two patient groups were also included as the normal controls (NC). Of the 50 ACLF patients, 28 were subsequently classified as non-survivors: 19 patients died from multiorgan failure, 3 underwent liver transplantation, and 6 discontinued therapy during follow-up because of financial reasons. The remaining 22 ACLF patients whose liver and anticoagulation function recovered to nearly normal levels within the next 6 mo were classified as survivors. The number of circulating Treg and Th17 cells was determined upon diagnosis and during the 8th week of follow-up through flow cytometry. RESULTS: The percentage of circulating Treg cells in the ACLF group was significantly higher than that in the CHB group (5.50% ± 1.15% vs 3.30% ± 1.13%, P < 0.01). The percentages of circulating Th17 cells in the ACLF and the CHB groups were significantly higher than that in the NC group (6.32% ± 2.22% vs 1.56% ± 0.44%, P < 0.01; 3.53% ± 1.65% vs 1.56% ± 0.44%, P < 0.01). No significant difference in Treg cell to Th17 cell ratio was observed between the ACLF group and the CHB group (0.98 ± 0.44 vs 1.12 ± 0.64, P = 0.991), whereas those in the two HBV infection groups were significantly lower than that in the NC group (1.85 ± 1.22; both P < 0.01). The percentage of Treg cells in the survivors during the 8th week of follow-up was significantly lower than that during peak ACLF severity [total bilirubin (TBIL)
文摘Background Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been identified as the first therapeutic option for patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The strategy of transferring patient to a PCI center was recently recommended for those with acute STEMI who were present to PCI incapable hospitals, which include lack of facilities or experienced operators. In China, some local hospitals have been equipped with PCI facilities, but they have no interventional physicians qualified for performing primary PCI. This study was conducted to assess the feasibility, safety and efficacy of the strategy of transferring physician to a PCI-equipped hospital to perform primary PCI for patients with acute STEMI. Methods Three hundred and thirty-four consecutive STEMI patients with symptom presentation 〈12 hours in five local hospitals from November 2005 to November 2007 were randomized to receive primary PCI by either physician transfer (physician transfer group, n=165) or patient transfer (patient transfer group, n=169) strategy. Door-to-balloon time, in-hospital and 30-day major adverse cardiac events (MACE, including death, non-fatal re-infarction, and target vessel revascularization) were compared between the two groups. Results Baseline characteristics between the two groups were comparable. Thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) 3 flow was revealed in more patients in the physician transfer group at initial angiography (17.6% vs 10.1%, P〈0.05). The success rate of primary PCI (96.3% vs 95.4%, P〉0.05) and length of hospital stay were similar between the two groups ((15±4) days vs (14±3) days, P〉0.05). In the physician transfer group, door-to-balloon time was significantly shortened ((95±20) minutes vs (147±29) minutes, P〈0.0001) and more patients received primary PCI with door-to-balloon time less than 90 minutes (21.2% vs 7.7%, P〈0.001). 文摘Background Current guidelines support primary percutaneous coronary intervention (primary PCI) as the first treatment of choice (as opposed to thrombolytic therapy) for patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) especially when delivered within 12 hours of symptom onset. We aimed to evaluate the impact of different clinical pathways on reduction of reperfusion delay and subsequent improvement in outcomes in patients with STEMI. Methods From November 2005 to November 2007, 546 consecutive patients with definite STEMI, who upon arrival at the emergency room were triaged to undergo primary PCI, were included. Of them, 271 patients were brought directly to catheterization laboratory (rapid group), and 275 patients were admitted to the coronary care unit (CCU) or cardiac ward first, and then transferred to the catheterization laboratory (non-rapid group). Primary endpoint was door-to-balloon (D2B) time, and secondary endpoints included infarct size assessed by peak CK-MB level and rates of major cardiac adverse events (MACE) including death, reinfarction, or target-vessel revascularization during hospitalization and at 30-day clinical follow-up.Results Baseline clinical characteristics, angiographic features and procedural success rates were comparable between the two groups, except that more patients received glycoprotein lib/Ilia receptor inhibitors before angiography (84.0% and 77.1, P=0.042) and had TIMI 3 flow in the culprit vessel at initial angiogram (17.1% and 9.2%, P=0.007) in the non-rapid group. The D2B time was shortened ((108±44) minutes and (138±31) minutes, P 〈0.0001), and number of patients with D2B time 〈90 minutes was greater (22.6% and 10.9%, P 〈0.0001) in the rapid group. The advantages associated with rapid intra-hospital transfer were enhanced if the patients presented to the hospital at regular hours. Peak CK-MB level was significantly reduced in the rapid group. 文摘AIM: To compare the outcomes of laparoscopic and open splenectomy and azygoportal devascularization for portal hypertension. METHODS: From June 2006 to March 2009, laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection (LSD) were performed on 28 patients with cirrhosis, bleeding due to portal hypertension, and secondary hypersplenism. Success was achieved in 26 patients. Demographic, intraoperative, and postoperative variables of the patients were compared. RESULTS: Success of laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection was achieved in all but two patients (7.14%) who required open splenectomy and azygoportal devascularization (OSD). The operation time was significantly longer in patients undergoing LSD than in those undergoing OSD (235 ± 36 min vs 178 ± 47 rain, P 〈 0.05). The estimated intraoperative blood loss was much more in patients receiving OSD than in those receiving LSD (420 ± 50 mL vs 200 ± 30 mL, P 〈 0.01). The proportion of patients undergoing laparoscopic and open splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection who received transfusion of packed red blood cells during or after the operation was 23.08% and 38.46%, respectively (P 〈 0.05). The time of first oral intake was faster in patients after LSD than in those after OSD (1.5 ± 0.7 d vs 3.5 ± 1.6 d, P 〈 0.05). The hospital stay of patients after LSD was shorter than that of patients after OSD (6.5 ± 2.3 d vs 11.7 ± 4.5 d, P 〈 0.05). The pain requiring medication was less severe in patients after LSD than in those after OSD (7.69% vs 73.08%, P 〈 0.001). The overall complication rate was lower in patients after LSD than in those after OSD (19.23% vs 42.31%, P 〈 0.05).CONCLUSION: Laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection are the feasible, effective, and safe surgical procedure, and are advantageous over minimally invasive surgery for bleeding portal hypertension and hypersplenism.

文摘The increased proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) are key events in the development of atherosclerotic lesions. Baicalin, an herb-derived flavonoid compound, has been previously shown to induce apoptosis and growth inhibition in cancer cells through multiple pathways. However, the potential role of baicalin in regulation of VSMC proliferation and prevention of cardiovascular diseases remains unexplored. In this study, we show that pretreatment with baicalin has a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on PDGF-BB-stimulated VSMC pro- liferation, accompanied with the reduction of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) expression. We also show that baicalin-induced growth inhibition is associated with a decrease in cyclin E-CDK2 activation and increase in p27 level in PDGF-stimulated VSMCs, which appears to be at least partly mediated by blockade of PDGF recep- tor [~ (PDGFR~)-extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) signaling. In addition, baicalin was also found to inhibit adhesion molecule expression and cell migration induced by PDGF-BB in VSMCs. Furthermore, using an animal carotid arterial balloon-injury model, we found that baicalin significantly inhibited neointimal hyperplasia. Taken together, our results reveal a novel function of baicalin in inducing growth arrest of PDGF-stimulated VSMCs and suppressing neointimal hyperplasia after balloon injury, and suggest that the underlying mechanism involves the inhibition of cyclin E-CDK2 activation and the increase in p27 accumulation via blockade of the PDGFR^-ERK1/2 signaling cascade.
文摘Objective To compare the perioperative outcomes of patients with primary hepatic carcinoma treated with laparoscopic hepatectomy(LH) with those treated with open hepatectomy(OH). Methods From January 2010 to August 2014, 100 patients with primary hepatic carcinoma were randomly divided into the LH group and OH group respectively, 50 patients in each group. And the incision length, blood loss, operative time, postoperative liver function, anus exhaust time, complications, length of postoperative hospital stay, and cost measures were compared. Results LH could achieve shorter incision length, less blood loss, more rapid recovery in liver function and gastrointestinal function, and shorter postoperative hospital stay length compared with OH for primary hepatic carcinoma patients(all P<0.05). However, LH could not significantly shorten operative time, and reduce postoperative complications and hospitalization cost(all P>0.05). Conclusion Compared with OH, LH could improve perioperative outcomes of primary hepatic carcinoma patients.
