The Globus Toolkit (GT) has been developed since the late 1990s to support the development of serviceoriented distributed computing applications and infrastructures. Core GT components address, within a common frame... The Globus Toolkit (GT) has been developed since the late 1990s to support the development of serviceoriented distributed computing applications and infrastructures. Core GT components address, within a common framework, fundamental issues relating to security, resource access, resource management, data movement, resource discovery, and so forth. These components enable a broader "Globus ecosystem" of tools and components that build on, or interoperate with, GT functionality to provide a wide range of useful application-level functions. These tools have in turn been used to develop a wide range of both "Grid" infrastructures and distributed applications. I summarize here the principal characteristics of the recent Web Services-based GT4 release, which provides significant improvements over previous releases in terms of robustness, performance,, usability, documentation, standards compliance, and functionality. I also introduce the new "dev.globus" community development process, which allows a larger community to contribute to the development of Globus software. 展开更多

Topological lasers are immune to imperfections and disorder.They have been recently demonstrated based on many kinds of robust edge states,which are mostly at the microscale.The realization of 2D on-chip topological nanolasers with a small footprint,a low threshold and high energy efficiency has yet to be explored.Here,we report the first experimental demonstration of a topological nanolaser with high performance in a 2D photonic crystal slab.A topological nanocavity is formed utilizing the Wannier-type 0D corner state.Lasing behaviour with a low threshold of approximately 1μW and a high spontaneous emission coupling factor of 0.25 is observed with quantum dots as the active material.Such performance is much better than that of topological edge lasers and comparable to that of conventional photonic crystal nanolasers.Our experimental demonstration of a low-threshold topological nanolaser will be of great significance to the development of topological nanophotonic circuitry for the manipulation of photons in classical and quantum regimes. 展开更多

In this paper,a primary model is established for MD(molecular dynamics) simulation for the PBXs(polymer-bonded explosives) with RDX(cyclotrimethylene trinitramine) as base explosive and PS as polymer binder.A series of results from the MD simulation are compared between two PBX models,which are represented by PBX1 and PBX2,respectively,including one PS molecular chain having 46 repeating units and two PS molecular chains with each having 23 repeating units.It has been found that their structural,interaction energy and mechanical properties are basically consistent between the two models.A systematic MD study for the PBX2 is performed under NPT conditions at five different temperatures,i.e.,195 K,245 K,295 K,345 K,and 395 K.We have found that with the temperature increase,the maximum bond length(L max) of RDX N N trigger bond increases,and the interaction energy(E N-N) between two N atoms of the N-N trigger bond and the cohesive energy density(CED) decrease.These phenomena agree with the experimental fact that the PBX becomes more sensitive as the temperature increases.Therefore,we propose to use the maximum bond length L max of the trigger bond of the easily decomposed and exploded component and the interaction energy E N-N of the two relevant atoms as theoretical criteria to judge or predict the relative degree of heat and impact sensitivity for the energetic composites such as PBXs and solid propellants. 展开更多

The Circular Electron Positron Collider(CEPC)is a large scientific project initiated and hosted by China,fostered through extensive collaboration with international partners.The complex comprises four accelerators:a 30 GeV Linac,a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring,a Booster capable of achieving energies up to 180 GeV,and a Collider operating at varying energy modes(Z,W,H,and tt).The Linac and Damping Ring are situated on the surface,while the subterranean Booster and Collider are housed in a 100 km circumference underground tunnel,strategically accommodating future expansion with provisions for a potential Super Proton Proton Collider(SPPC).The CEPC primarily serves as a Higgs factory.In its baseline design with synchrotron radiation(SR)power of 30 MW per beam,it can achieve a luminosity of 5×10^(34)cm^(-2)s^(-1)per interaction point(IP),resulting in an integrated luminosity of 13 ab^(-1)for two IPs over a decade,producing 2.6 million Higgs bosons.Increasing the SR power to 50 MW per beam expands the CEPC's capability to generate 4.3 million Higgs bosons,facilitating precise measurements of Higgs coupling at sub-percent levels,exceeding the precision expected from the HL-LHC by an order of magnitude.This Technical Design Report(TDR)follows the Preliminary Conceptual Design Report(Pre-CDR,2015)and the Conceptual Design Report(CDR,2018),comprehensively detailing the machine's layout,performance metrics,physical design and analysis,technical systems design,R&D and prototyping efforts,and associated civil engineering aspects.Additionally,it includes a cost estimate and a preliminary construction timeline,establishing a framework for forthcoming engineering design phase and site selection procedures.Construction is anticipated to begin around 2027-2028,pending government approval,with an estimated duration of 8 years.The commencement of experiments and data collection could potentially be initiated in the mid-2030s. 展开更多

Objective To compare the cognitive effects of guqin (the oldest Chinese instrument) music and piano music. Methods Behavioral and event-related potential (ERP) data in a standard two-stimulus auditory oddball task were recorded and analyzed. Results This study replicated the previous results of culture-familiar music effect on Chinese subjects: the greater P300 amplitude in frontal areas in a culture-familiar music environment. At the same time, the difference between guqin music and piano music was observed in NI and later positive complex (LPC: including P300 and P500): a relatively higher participation of right anterior-temporal areas in Chinese subjects. Conclusion The results suggest that the special features of ERP responses to guqin music are the outcome of Chinese tonal language environments given the similarity between Guqin's tones and Mandarin lexical tones. 展开更多

Four primal discontinuous Galerkin methods are applied to solve reactive transport problems, namely, Oden-BabuSka-Baumann DG (OBB-DG), non-symmetric interior penalty Galerkin (NIPG), symmetric interior penalty Galerkin (SIPG), and incomplete interior penalty Galerkin (IIPG). A unified a posteriori residual-type error estimation is derived explicitly for these methods. From the computed solution and given data, explicit estimators can be computed efficiently and directly, which can be used as error indicators for adaptation. Unlike in the reference [10], we obtain the error estimators in L^2 (L^2) norm by using duality techniques instead of in L^2(H^1) norm. 展开更多

In this paper, a coupled system of sea-air oscillator model is studied. The aim is to create an asymptotic solving method of nonlinear equation for the ENSO model. And based on a class of oscillators of ENSO model, employing the method of homotopic mapping, the approximate solution of corresponding problem is studied. It is proven from the results that the homotopic method can be used for analysing the sea surface temperature anomaly in the equatorial eastern Pacific and the thermocline depth anomaly of the atmosphere-ocean oscillation for ENSO model. 展开更多

Warburg Effects in Cancer and Normal Proliferating Cells:Two Tales of the Same Name 被引量:8

It has been observed that both cancer tissue cells and normal proliferating cells(NPCs)have the Warburg effect.Our goal here is to demonstrate that they do this for different reasons.To accomplish this,we have analyzed the transcriptomic data of over 7000 cancer and control tissues of 14 cancer types in TCGA and data of five NPC types in GEO.Our analyses reveal that NPCs accumulate large quantities of ATPs produced by the respiration process before starting the Warburg effect,to raise the intracellular pH from 6.8 to 7.2 and to prepare for cell division energetically.Once cell cycle starts,the cells start to rely on glycolysis for ATP generation followed by ATP hydrolysis and lactic acid release,to maintain the elevated intracellular pH as needed by cell division since together the three processes are pH neutral.The cells go back to the normal respirationbased ATP production once the cell division phase ends.In comparison,cancer cells have reached their intracellular pH at 7.4 from top down as multiple acid-loading transporters are up-regulated and most acid-extruding ones except for lactic acid exporters are repressed.Cancer cells use continuous glycolysis for ATP production as way to acidify the intracellular space since the lactic acid secretion is decoupled from glycolysis-based ATP generation and is pH balanced by increased expressions of acid-loading transporters.Co-expression analyses suggest that lactic acid secretion is regulated by external,non-pH related signals.Overall,our data strongly suggest that the two cell types have the Warburg effect for very different reasons. 展开更多

Molecular dynamics (MD) method was used to simulate 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) coated with fluorine containing polymers. The mechanical properties and binding energies of PBXs were obtained. It was found that when the number of chain monomers of fluorine containing polymers was the same, the elasticity of TATB/F2314 was increased more greatly than others and the binding energy of TATB/F2311 was the largest among four PBXs. Detonation heat and velocity of such four PBXs were calculated according to theoretical and empirical formulas. The results show that the order of detonation heat is TATB〉TATB/PVDF〉TATB/F2311〉TATB/ F2314 〉 TATB/PCTFE while the order of detonation velocity is TATB/PVDF 〈 TATB/F2311 〈 TATB/F2314 〈 TATB/PCTFE 〈TATB. 展开更多

A global planning algorithm for intelligent vehicles is designed based on the A* algorithm, which provides intelligent vehicles with a global path towards their destinations. A distributed real-time multiple vehicle collision avoidance(MVCA)algorithm is proposed by extending the reciprocal n-body collision avoidance method. MVCA enables the intelligent vehicles to choose their destinations and control inputs independently,without needing to negotiate with each other or with the coordinator. Compared to the centralized trajectory-planning algorithm, MVCA reduces computation costs and greatly improves the robustness of the system. Because the destination of each intelligent vehicle can be regarded as private, which can be protected by MVCA, at the same time MVCA can provide a real-time trajectory planning for intelligent vehicles. Therefore,MVCA can better improve the safety of intelligent vehicles. The simulation was conducted in MATLAB, including crossroads scene simulation and circular exchange position simulation. The results show that MVCA behaves safely and reliably. The effects of latency and packet loss on MVCA are also statistically investigated through theoretically formulating broadcasting process based on one-dimensional Markov chain. The results uncover that the tolerant delay should not exceed the half of deciding cycle of trajectory planning, and shortening the sending interval could alleviate the negative effects caused by the packet loss to an extent. The cases of short delay(< 100100 ms) and low packet loss(< 5%) can bring little influence to those trajectory planning algorithms that only depend on V2 V to sense the context, but the unpredictable collision may occur if the delay and packet loss are further worsened. The MVCA was also tested by a real intelligent vehicle, the test results prove the operability of MVCA. 展开更多

Eye health has become a global health concern and attracted broad attention.Over the years,researchers have proposed many state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks(CNNs)to assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing ocular diseases efficiently and precisely.However,most existing methods were dedicated to constructing sophisticated CNNs,inevitably ignoring the trade-off between performance and model complexity.To alleviate this paradox,this paper proposes a lightweight yet efficient network architecture,mixeddecomposed convolutional network(MDNet),to recognise ocular diseases.In MDNet,we introduce a novel mixed-decomposed depthwise convolution method,which takes advantage of depthwise convolution and depthwise dilated convolution operations to capture low-resolution and high-resolution patterns by using fewer computations and fewer parameters.We conduct extensive experiments on the clinical anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT),LAG,University of California San Diego,and CIFAR-100 datasets.The results show our MDNet achieves a better trade-off between the performance and model complexity than efficient CNNs including MobileNets and MixNets.Specifically,our MDNet outperforms MobileNets by 2.5%of accuracy by using 22%fewer parameters and 30%fewer computations on the AS-OCT dataset. 展开更多

We report a study of the electronic structure of BaFe_(2)As_(2) under uniaxial strains using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and transport measurements. Two electron bands at the MY point, with an energy splitting of 50 meV in the strain-free sample, shift downward and merge into each other under a large uniaxial strain, while three hole bands at theГ point shift downward together. However, we also observed an enhancement of the resistance anisotropy under uniaxial strains by electrical transport measurements, implying that the applied strains strengthen the electronic nematic order in BaFe_(2)As_(2). These observations suggest that the splitting of these two electron bands at the MY point is not caused by the nematic order in BaFe_(2)As_(2). 展开更多

Multiple quantum coherences are often employed to describe quantum many-body dynamics in nuclear spin systems and recently,to characterize quantum phase transitions in trapped ions.Here we investigate the multiple-quantum-coherence dynamics of a spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensate.By adjusting the quadratic Zeeman shift,the condensate exhibits three quantum phases.Our numerical results show that the spectrum of multiple quantum coherence does indeed catch the quantum critical points.More importantly,with only a few low-order multiple quantum coherences,the spin-1 condensate exhibits rich signals of the many-body dynamics,beyond conventional observables.The experimental implementation of such multiple quantum coherence protocol is also discussed. 展开更多

Organic solar cells(OSCs)have attracted extensive attention from both academia and industry in recent years due to their remarkable improvement in power conversion efficiency(PCE).However,the Golden Triangle(the balance of efficiency-stability-cost)required for large-scale industrialization of OSCs still remains a great challenge.Here,a new nonfused-ring electron acceptor(NFREA)BF and its polymerized counterpart PBF were designed and synthesized,and their photovoltaic performance,storage stability and material cost were systematically investigated.When blended with a widely-used polymer donor PBDB-T,the PBFbased all-polymer solar cell(all-PSC)displayed a record high PCE of 12.61%for polymerized NFREAs(PNFREAs)with an excellent stability(95.2%of initial PCE after 800 h storage),superior to the BF counterpart.Impressively,PBF-based allPSC possesses the highest industrial figure-of-merit(i-FOM)value of 0.309 based on an efficiency-stability-cost evaluation,in comparison to several representative OSC systems(such as PM6:Y6 and PBDB-T:PZ1).This work provides an insight into the balance of efficiency,stability,and cost,and also indicates that the PNFREAs are promising materials toward the commercial application of OSCs. 展开更多

Gabor filters are generally regarded as the most bionic filters corresponding to the visual perception of human. Their filtered coefficients thus are widely utilized to represent the texture information of irises. However, these wavelet-based iris representations are inevitably being misaligned in iris matching stage. In this paper, we try to improve the characteristics of bionic Gabor representations of each iris via combining the local Gabor features and the key-point descriptors of Scale Invariant Feature Transformation (SIFT), which respectively simulate the process of visual object class recognition in frequency and spatial domains. A localized approach of Gabor features is used to avoid the blocking effect in the process of image division, meanwhile a SIFT key point selection strategy is provided to remove the noises and probable misaligned key points. For the combination of these iris features, we propose a support vector regression based fusion rule, which may fuse their matching scores to a scalar score to make classification decision. The experiments on three public and self-developed iris datasets validate the discriminative ability of our multiple bionic iris features, and also demonstrate that the fusion system outperforms some state-of-the-art methods. 展开更多

Neural network pruning is a popular approach to reducing the computational complexity of deep neural networks.In recent years,as growing evidence shows that conventional network pruning methods employ inappropriate proxy metrics,and as new types of hardware become increasingly available,hardware-aware network pruning that incorporates hardware characteristics in the loop of network pruning has gained growing attention,Both network accuracy and hardware efficiency(latency,memory consumption,etc.)are critical objectives to the success of network pruning,but the conflict between the multiple objectives makes it impossible to find a single optimal solution.Previous studies mostly convert the hardware-aware network pruning to optimization problems with a single objective.In this paper,we propose to solve the hardware-aware network pruning problem with Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms(MOEAs).Specifically,we formulate the problem as a multi-objective optimization problem,and propose a novel memetic MOEA,namely HAMP,that combines an efficient portfoliobased selection and a surrogate-assisted local search,to solve it.Empirical studies demonstrate the potential of MOEAs in providing simultaneously a set of alternative solutions and the superiority of HAMP compared to the state-of-the-art hardware-aware network pruning method. 展开更多

By combination of iteration methods with the partition of unity method(PUM),some finite element parallel algorithms for the stationary incompressible magnetohydrodynamics(MHD)with different physical parameters are presented and analyzed.These algorithms are highly efficient.At first,a global solution is obtained on a coarse grid for all approaches by one of the iteration methods.By parallelized residual schemes,local corrected solutions are calculated on finer meshes with overlapping sub-domains.The subdomains can be achieved flexibly by a class of PUM.The proposed algorithm is proved to be uniformly stable and convergent.Finally,one numerical example is presented to confirm the theoretical findings. 展开更多
