The present paper makes a comprehensive account, deals with phenomena and information related to this burial custom, analyzes its economic and social position of the buried and their age and sex, and infers their particular status. On this basis the author studies related archaeological data of the Dian culture in Yunnan and the material of sorcery culture in cultural anthropology, and concludes that head-covered burial was the burial manner characteristic of a small number of sorcerers in the local tribes.展开更多
