However, the mechanism of transmission along the vertical direction of 2D semiconductor materials has not been investigated. Here, we use first-principles calculations to explore the bandgap energies along different directions, and fabricate a vertical, a lateral and a mixture-structured black phosphorus field effect transistor(BPFET) to study the electrical characteristics along different directions under variable temperatures. The variable temperature test indicates that the mixture-structured device performs more like a lateral device, while the conductance along the vertical direction is hard to be tuned by temperature and electrical field. The unchanged conductance under electric field and variable temperatures allows the vertical device to act as a fixed resistor, promising possible application for the prospective electronic and optoelectronic devices.展开更多
Unmanned systems such as legged robots require fast-motion responses for operation in complex envi-ronments.These systems therefore require explosive actuators that can provide high peak speed or high peak torque at s...Unmanned systems such as legged robots require fast-motion responses for operation in complex envi-ronments.These systems therefore require explosive actuators that can provide high peak speed or high peak torque at specific moments during dynamic motion.Although hydraulic actuators can provide a large force,they are relatively inefficient,large,and heavy.Industrial electric actuators are incapable of providing instant high power.In addition,the constant reduction ratio of the reducer makes it difficult to eliminate the tradeoff between high speed and high torque in a given system.This study proposes an explosive electric actuator and an associated control method for legged robots.First,a high-power-density variable transmission is designed to enable continuous adjustment of the output speed to torque ratio.A heat-dissipating structure based on a composite phase-change material(PCM)is used.An integral torque control method is used to achieve periodic and controllable explosive power output.Jumping experiments are conducted with typical legged robots to verify the effectiveness of the proposed actuator and control method.Single-legged,quadruped,and humanoid robots jumped to heights of 1.5,0.8,and 0.5 m,respectively.These are the highest values reported to date for legged robots powered by electric actuators.展开更多
Continuously variable transmission(CVT)of noncircular gear has the technical advantages of large bearing capacity and high transmission efficiency.The key technology of CVT with noncircular gear has been broken throug...Continuously variable transmission(CVT)of noncircular gear has the technical advantages of large bearing capacity and high transmission efficiency.The key technology of CVT with noncircular gear has been broken through some countries,and is in the stage of deep application research.Although the characteristics and design methods of noncircular gear pairs have been continuously studied in China,the noncircular gear CVT is still in the preliminary exploration and research stage.The linear functional noncircular gear pair,whose transmission ratio is a linear function in the working section,to realize continuously variable transmission was the research object in this paper.According to the required transmission ratio in the working section,the transmission ratio function in the non-working section was constructed by using a polynomial.And then the influence of pitch curve parameters in the working section on which in the non-working section was also analyzed to obtain the pitch curve suitable for transmission of this gear pair.In addition,for improving the stability and bearing capacity of gear transmission,the noncircular gear pair transmission with high contact ratio was designed.Furthermore,the accurate value of the contact tooth length was calculated based on the gear principle and the characteristics of the involute tooth profile,from this the contact tooth length error was calculated by comparing the accurate value with its actual value obtained by the rolling experiment.Finally,an indirect method to verify the contact ratio by detecting the contact length error of the tooth profile was proposed.展开更多
