The feasibility of producing superheavy nuclei in proton evaporation channels was systematically studied within the dinuclear system(DNS)model.Due to the Z=114 proton-shell,one can synthesize Fl isotopes in proton eva...The feasibility of producing superheavy nuclei in proton evaporation channels was systematically studied within the dinuclear system(DNS)model.Due to the Z=114 proton-shell,one can synthesize Fl isotopes in proton evaporation channels.We only considered the case of evaporating one proton first and then n neutrons in this work,other cases were ignored due to the small cross-section.The production cross sections of unknown isotopes ^(290,291)Fl in ^(38)S+^(255)Es reaction are the highest compared with ^(50)Ti+^(243)Np and ^(54)Cr+^(239)Pa reactions,and the maximum cross sections are 1.1 and 15.1 pb,respectively.^(42)S+^(254)Es is a promising candidate to approach the island of stability as the radioactive beam facilities are upgraded in the future,and the production cross sections of ^(291−294)Fl in that reaction are estimated to be 3.2,6.0,4.0,and 0.1 pb,respectively.展开更多
In the framework of the dinuclear system model,the synthesis mechanism of the superheavy nuclides with atomic numbers Z=112,114,115 in the reactions of projectiles 40,^(48)Ca bombarding on targets^(238)U,^(242)Pu,and^...In the framework of the dinuclear system model,the synthesis mechanism of the superheavy nuclides with atomic numbers Z=112,114,115 in the reactions of projectiles 40,^(48)Ca bombarding on targets^(238)U,^(242)Pu,and^(243)Am within a wide interval of incident energy has been investigated systematically.Based on the available experimental excitation functions,the dependence of calculated synthesis cross-sections on collision orientations has been studied thoroughly.The total kinetic energy(TKE)of these collisions with fixed collision orientation shows orientation dependence,which can be used to predict the tendency of kinetic energy diffusion.The TKE is dependent on incident energies,as discussed in this paper.We applied the method based on the Coulomb barrier distribution function in our calculations.This allowed us to approximately consider all the collision orientations from tip-tip to side-side.The calculations of excitation functions of^(48)Ca+^(238)U,^(48)Ca+242Pu,and^(48)Ca+^(243)Am are in good agreement with the available experimental data.The isospin effect of projectiles on production cross-sections of moscovium isotopes and the influence of the entrance channel effect on the synthesis cross-sections of superheavy nuclei are also discussed in this paper.The synthesis cross-section of new moscovium isotopes 278−286 Mc was predicted to be as large as hundreds of pb in the fusion-evaporation reactions of^(35,37)Cl+^(248)Cf,^(38,40)Ar+^(247)Bk,^(39,41)K+247 Cm,^(40,42,44,46)Ca+^(243)Am,45 Sc+^(244)Pu,and^(46,48,50)Ti+237Np,51 V+^(238)U at some typical excitation energies.展开更多

In this paper, excitation function formulae for the nuclear reactions of 123I production are introduced. 124Te (p, 2n)123I and 127I (p, 5n)123Xe → 123I nuclear reactions have been studied as a function of the energy of the neutrons. Both two formulae were created using the least squares regression of the experimental cross sections data, which were obtained from the Experimental Nuclear Reaction Data EXFOR Database version of 2023. The proposed formulae were evaluated using two statistical indicators for goodness-of-fit. High agreement was observed between the empirical and experimental results for both nuclear processes.展开更多
The production-oriented approach (POA) has been developed over a decade. It is driven by the need to improve English classroom instruction for university students in China (Wen, 2016). It is also motivated by the ...The production-oriented approach (POA) has been developed over a decade. It is driven by the need to improve English classroom instruction for university students in China (Wen, 2016). It is also motivated by the aspiration to enhance the quality of foreign language education in other similar pedagogical contexts outside China. A volume of research has been done by Wen Qiufang and her research team, to formulate the theory of POA and to test its effectiveness in classroom pedagogy (e.g. Wen, 2016, 2015; Yang, 2015; Zhang, 2015). At the moment, the POA is still at an early stage of theory building and almost all empirical research is done in the Chinese context. In order to improve the quality of this theory and to make it intelligible to the international academic community, a one-day symposium was held in Beijing Foreign Studies University on May 15, 2017. The symposium was entitled 'The first international forum on innovative foreign language education in China: Appraisal of the POA'. In the forum, leading experts in applied linguistics were invited to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the POA and the directions for its future development. The symposium was the first attempt for the POA research team to discuss its latest work with international scholars. This Viewpoint section collects the responses of four experts who participated in the symposium, listed in alphabetical order. The collection of articles covers three topics related to the POA: its pedagogical application, its use for teacher training, and its research. Alister Cumming is Professor Emeritus and the former Head of the Centre for Educational Research on Languages and Literacies, University of Toronto, Canada. His article focuses primarily on POA research as an exemplary case of design-based research. Rod Ellis is Research Professor in the School of Education at Curtin University, Australia. In the present paper, the cross section calculations for the production of^(43),^(34)Sc,^(45)Ti,^(51)Cr,^(54)Mn, and^(55) Fe radioisotopes were carried out by the use of ALICE/ASH code using the Fermi gas model, Kataria Ramamurthy Fermi gas model, and superfluid nuclear model for nuclear level density. It is found surprisingly that the optimal pair production depends strongly on the polarization. For some cases of field parameters, the optimal field is e11iptically polarized or evenly circularly polarized one, rather than the usual linear polarization as indicated by previous works interesting unexpected features are a/so discussed briefly.
