The results show that the mean centerline velocity decays as x-1/3 and the jet spreads as x2/3 in the self-similar region, which are consistent with the theoretical predictions and the experimental data. The time histories and PSD analyses of the instantaneous centerline velocities indicate the periodic behavior and the interaction between periodic components of velocities should not be neglected in the far field region, although it is invisible in the near field region.展开更多

The band structures of three lattices were compared and analyzed. It is concluded that the band-gap of honeycomb lattices is located at lower frequency fields, compared with square and triangle lattices. When the filling fraction is between 0.091 and 0.6046, the honeycomb lattices have larger band gaps and gain an advantage over square and triangle lattices. In addition, the gap map is introduced to illustrate the influences of filling fraction on the number, the relative width and the limit frequency of the band-gap.展开更多

The lattice stabilities of Rh and Ir are ΔG^ bcc-hcp 〉 Δ G^fcc-hcp 〉 0, agreeing well with those of the projector augmented wave method in first-principles and the CALPHAD method in spite of elemental Co. Analyses of the electronic structures to lattice stability show that crystalline Rh and Ir with fcc structures have the obvious characteristic of a stable phase, agreeing with the results of total energy calculations. Analyses of atomic populations show that the transition rate of electrons from the s state to the p or d state for hcp, fcc, and bcc crystals of Co and Rh increases with the elemental period number to form a stronger cohesion, a higher cohesive energy, or a more stable lattice between atoms in heavier metals.展开更多

A pair of topological corner states arise at the corners with obtuse angles of an isolated diamond-shaped flake. To probe the corner states, we study their transport properties by attaching two leads to the system. Dressed by incoming electrons, the dynamic corner state is very different from its static counterpart.Resonant tunneling through the dressed corner state can occur by tuning the in-plane Zeeman field. At the resonance, the pair of spatially well separated and highly localized corner states can form a dimer state, whose wavefunction extends almost the entire bulk of the diamond-shaped flake. By varying the Zeeman field strength, multiple resonant tunneling events are mediated by the same dimer state. This re-entrance effect can be understood by a simple model. These findings extend our understanding of dynamic aspects of the second-order topological corner states.展开更多

The generalized eigenvalue equation is obtained by the relation of the mechanic and electric fields as well as the Bloch-Floquet theorem. The band structures of both the in-plane and anti-plane modes are calculated for a rectangular lattice by the planewave expansion method. The effects of the lattice constant ratio and the piezoelectricity with different filling fractions are analyzed. The results show that the largest gap width is not always obtained for a square lattice. In some situations, a rectangular lattice may generate larger gaps. The band gap characteristics are influenced obviously by the piezoelectricity with the larger lattice constant ratios and the filling fractions.展开更多

In this paper, the propagation of elastic waves in a two-dirnensional hybrid triangular lattice structure consisting of stainless steel cylinders in air is investigated theoretically. The band structure is calculated with the plane wave expansion (PWE) method. The hybrid triangular Bravais lattice is formed by two kinds of triangular lattices. Different from ordinary triangular lattices, the band gap opens at low frequency (between the first and the second bands) regime because of lifting the bands degeneracy at high symmetry points of the Brillouin zone. The location and width of the band gaps can be tuned by the position of the additional rods.展开更多
