There have been many previous studies onthe relationship between expression of multidrugresistance (MDR) phenotype P-glycoprotein (P-gp)and the malignant properties of tumors, but theresults are often conflicting[1-8]. The difference intumor types or MDR phenotype induced by specificagents might account for this discrepancy. Taxotere(TXT), a member of the family of taxanes, hasantitumor activity through its effect of promotingthe polymerization of tubulin[9,10].展开更多

It indicated that the core of polygenic hypothesis from this experiment was that a character similarity produced by additive effect of multiple genes was the basis of continuous variation. Its precondition was for effective genes to have equal effect, to show merodominance and binomial distribution and to inherit independently. In fact, quantitative characters were determined by many genes with different property, effect and behavior. So it was difficult to solve all problems of continuous variation by the aid of polygenic hypothesis. The researchers should seek new ways. With Mendelian group as research object and by means of Lyapunov central limit theorem it was proved that both genotypic value G and the environmental effect in a niche E were subordinated to the normal distribution and respectively. According to additivity of the normal distribution the phenotype P = G + E also obeyed the normal distribution P = G + E ~ and quantitative characters showed continuous variation, whether or not the linkage was presented, whether or not every gene effect was equal, whether or not there were dominance and what kind of dominance between alleles. Moreover it was discussed that the quantitative characters in self-fertilized organism and clone were submitted to the normal distribution and presented continuous variation too.展开更多

METHODS:We performed immunohistochemical analysis of HER2 in 30 samples taken from patients with Barrett's adenocarcinoma and dual color in situ hybridization in cases showing 2+ reactions. We compared the clinicopathological characteristics of HER2-positive and HER2-negative patients.RESULTS:HER2 positivity was identified in 8 (27%) carcinoma samples. We found that HER2 expression was associated with p53 overexpression (100% vs 52.6% in pT1 tumor; 100% vs 54.5% in all stage tumor, P < 0.05) and protruding lesions at the early disease stage. There was no association between the mucin phenotype of the carcinomas and prognosis. HER2 expression and low clinical stage were unexpectedly different between Barrett's adenocarcinoma patients and gastric cancer patients, but the macroscopic features may be associated with earlier diagnosis in these patients. CONCLUSION:Our results suggest that HER2-positive Barrett's adenocarcinomas are associated with p53 overexpression and lesion protrusion at the early disease stage.展开更多

The study was purposed to comprehensively identify special phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of P. stutzeri isolated from several areas in Indonesia, including its morphometric and biochemical characteristics and molecular variation. Bacteria were isolated from internal organs (kidney, ulcer and eye) of fish. They were then identified using morphology and biochemical test. DNA isolates were entirely extracted, amplified and reversed on 16S rRNA region, and further then were sequenced. Phylogenetic trees of bacteria were constructed using neighbor-joining and maximum-parsimony methods. The colony were similar, such as rod shape (Jambi, Tanjung Pinang, Bali), bacil shape (Luwuk Banggai), transparant in tryptic soy agar (TSA) (Luwuk Banggai), creamy beige in glutamate starch phenol red (GSP) (Bali), gram negative, motile, no reaction in the oxidative-fermentative test, positive result in catalase and oxidase test, negative in lysine decarboxylase and ornithine decarboxylase test and positive result in indole test; gelatin was degraded (only Bali), urea was not degraded, no color change in Methyl-red and Voges-proskaeur (MR-VP) test; acid not produce from glucose, inositol or sucrose. Citrate was utilized by some isolates: positive (Jambi, Tanjung Pinang) and negative (Bali, Luwuk Banggai). Results showed us that isolates of Jambi, Bali and Tanjung Pinang were monophyletic species with P. stutzeri $8 and ZH-1 comparing to gen bank. However, merely phenotypic analysis among Pseudomonas sp. was confused compared to each other.展开更多
