Data gained by OCT were compared with perimetry indexes. ONH, RNFL and macula analysis were performed for all subjects. Rim area, disc area,average cup/disc (C/D) ratio, vertical C/D ratio, cup volume data were recorded during ONH analysis. Average RNFL thickness and the thickness of four quadrants (superior,inferior, nasal and temporal) was established in microns.In total, nine macular quadrants involving the foveal region mentioned in the Early Treatment Diabetic Treatment Study(ETDRS) template were measured, and average macular thickness and macular volume data were recorded during macula analysis. Differences between groups were evaluated with the one-way ANOVA test. Tukey’s multiple comparison test was performed to detect difference between groups.Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was done for early stage POAG patients to establish sensitivity and specificity of chosen parameters in early stage POAG.Area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUROC)values were calculated to compare ROC areas.RESULTS:Statistically significant differences were found in all ONH parameters, except optic disc area. Neuroretinal rim area was identified as the parameter with the highest difference between groups (F=21.72, P〈0.05). The highest correlation between ONH parameters and perimetry was observed at neuroretinal rim region (r=0.487). Inferior RNFL thickness was established as the parameter with the highest difference between groups among RNFL parameters. In the mean of all glaucoma patients, the highest correlation between data handled with OCT and mean deviation was observed in RNFL t展开更多

METHODS: Thirty-six study participants (36 eyes) were enrolled in this research. The fovea and parafoveal region (the region of 6mm diameter of the fovea as center) of the images were selected by spectral domain optic coherence tomography (SD-OCT). The choroidal thickness was measured manually by the Heidelberg Eye explore software (version 5.3.3.0, Heidelberg Engineering) with a vertical line and the Image 3 software with a line vertical to the retinal pigment epithelial layer. The agreement and reproducibility of the two methods were described by the Bland-Altmann analysis. RESULTS: As compared with Heidelberg Eye explore software (39.9186), the repeatability coefficient is lower calculated by Image 3 software (27.3525). The Bland-Altmann analysis showed that the limits of 95% CI of agreement analysis is -18.437-63.949 mu m and the upper limits of the precision of the 95% CI of agreement is between 16.102 and 111.796 mu m and the lower limits is range from -66.29-21.41 mu m, which reflected a great variations of the difference. CONCLUSION: The repeatability and agreement of measurement implied by Image 3 software was better than the Heidelberg Eye explore software. The Image 3 software should be used for measuring the choroidal thickness in future study in China.展开更多

Methods:From 2002.6-2003.12, the highly myopic eyes(>6D) which has macular schisis found by OCT at our hospital were included in the study. Each eye then received further examinations including visual acuity,refractive error and ultra-sonography. Then the results were analyzed to find the characteristic of the entity. Results:During that period, OCT found macular schisis in 38 highly myopic eyes from 36 patients. Their vision was low, and their average axial length and refractive error were 29.6mm and -10.5D respectively. The appearance and the area of the schisis are different among the eyes. But the schisis can be largely divided into two types: inner and outer schisis. They can exit independently or concurrently in the same eye. And the schisis was often accompanied by other macular findings, like retinal detachment, macular hole. Conclusion:Macular schisis in highly myopic eyes is not uncommon in the clinic. OCT is useful in its diagnosis.展开更多
