This induced charge quantity is susceptible to the absolute humidity of environment. There are two types of charges, the charge causing bending and the rest of charge that causes no bending. In the high humidity environments, where absolute humidity is above 10 gm-3, the quantity of charge causing no bending accounts for the large part of whole charge induced into the Selemion IPMC, while quantity of such charge is negligibly small at the absolute humidity of less than 10 gm-3. Estimating the quantity of those two types of charges individually, we successively analyzed the bending stability of Selemion IPMC at the absolute humidity above 10 gm-3. Consequently, we deduced the following conclusions. 1) There exists a large time delay in the current in response to the voltage input, 2) Current is highly dumping, and 3) Bending behavior is marginally stable under the input of any frequency.展开更多

In this system, the dynamics of semiconductor lasers with both the optical feedback and optical injection are coherently coupled with the internal laser field. The synchronization map becomes a cloud of points for some parameters values (no correlation between Master laser ML and Slave laser SL outputs). It means that the two lasers are decoupled. It can be clearly seen when kf = 0.2, kinj = 0.4 and τ = 1 the correlation between these two laser outputs are in a diagonal line, which implies the excellent correlation between them and verifies their synchronization. It is evident that the synchronization quality of open-loop scheme improves for this value is better than that of the other amounts. Value is better than that of the other amounts.展开更多

Such systems involve communication channels which introduce noises due to quantization, channel noises, and have limited communication bandwidth resources. Usually signal averaging can be used effectively in reducing noise effects when remote monitoring and diagnosis are involved. However, when feedback is intended, we show that signal averaging will lose its utility substantially. To explain this phenomenon, we analyze stability margins under signal averaging and derive some optimal strategies for selecting window sizes. A typical case of anesthe-sia depth control problems is used in this development.展开更多
