Initially, standard genetic algorithms (SGAs) are used to identify control oriented models of the plant which are subsequently used for controller optimisa- tion. An individual tuning approach without loop interaction is considered first to categorise the genetic operators, cost functions and improve searching boundaries to attain the desired performance criteria. The second tuning approach considers controller parameters optimisation with loop interaction and individual cost functions. While, the third tuning approach utilises a modified cost function which includes the total effect of both controlled variables, glass temperature and excess oxygen. This modified cost function is shown to exhibit improved control robustness and disturbance rejection under loop interaction.展开更多

Fingerprint minutiae data and the cryptographic key are merged together by a multivariable linear function. First, the minutiae data are bound by a set of random data through the linear function. The number of the function’s variables is determined by the required number of matched minutiae. Then, a new key de- rived from the random data is used to encrypt the cryptographic key. Lastly, the binding data are protected using fuzzy vault scheme. The proposed scheme provides the system with the flexibility to use changeable number of minutiae to bind/recover the protected key and a unified method regardless of the length of the key.展开更多

The control scheme is made of an adaptive instantaneous neural model, a neural controller based on fully connected “Real-Time Recurrent Learning” (RTRL) networks and an online parameters updating law. Closed-loop performances as well as sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability are derived from the Lyapunov approach according to the adaptive updating rate parameter. Robustness is also considered in terms of sensor noise and model uncertainties. This control scheme is applied to the manipulator robot process in order to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method for real-world control problems.展开更多

It has been demonstrated that this method can be used to optimize the machine performance of a light source online. In our study, taking BEPCII as an example, the feasibility of online tuning of the luminosity in a circular collider is explored, through numerical simulation and preliminary online experiments. It is shown that the luminosity that is artificially decreased by a deviation of beam orbital offset from optimal trajectory can be recovered with this method.展开更多
