It is found that the strongest predictor among the three internal components of L2MSS contributing to the L2 Learning Motivation is closely related to learners' L2 proficiency levels. For lower-level L2 learners, the strongest predictor of L2 Learning Motivation is Second Language Learning Experience (hereafter abbreviated as SLLE), while for higher-level L2 learners, the strongest predictor is their Ideal L2 Self. Furthermore, the overall picture of the parameters of the three internal components of L2MSS across various groups of L2 proficiency levels shows a regular pattern. That is, with the increase of L2 proficiency, the self dimension (Ideal 1.2 Self and Ought-to L2 Self, especially the former) plays an increasingly important role in its contribution to L2 Learning Motivation while the SLLE plays a decreasingly important role in the contribution to L2 Learning Motivation.展开更多

In the present study, we utilized a Motivation-Skill-Desensitization-Mental Energy (MSDE) intervention and evaluated its effects on abstinence and mental health. Eighty-nine male heroin users in a drug rehabilitation center were enrolled in the study. The participants in the MSDE intervention group (n=46) received MSDE intervention, which included motivational interviewing, coping skills training, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy. The participants in the control group (h=43) received a series of lectures on skills training. A significant increase in Contemplation Ladder score (P<0.001) and decreases in scores on the Obsessive Compulsive Drug Use Scale (P<0.001), Beck Depression Inventory (P<0.001), and Aggression Questionnaire (P=O.O33) were found immediately after intervention. Compared to the control group, the MSDE intervention group reported significantly higher abstinence rates (P=0.027) and retention rates (P<0.001) at follow-up. Overall, the MSDE intervention, which uses a combined strategy for relapse prevention, could be a promising approach for preventing relapse among heroin users in China.展开更多

The program’s mission is to make available early detection of modifiable CVD risk factors, raise awareness of participants about their impact on CVDs, and promote healthy life changes. In order to gather information to optimize the implementation of this program and eventually to enlarge its implementation to other sites, the first objective of this study was to explore the characteristics of the adult population participating in the PS program and to identify the risk factors they want to modify. The second objective was to evaluate one month later the effective implementation of the action plan elaborated during the motivational interview. The third objective was to evaluate the satisfaction of the participants with the PS program. One hundred ten subjects who attended PS sessions during this period were enrolled in the study. About 30% of participants have blood pressure values ≥ 140/90 mmHg and 40% present a waist circumference associated with higher risk profile. The behaviors to be changed mostly targeted by the participants were physical inactivity and nutrition. A motivational interview was conducted with the elaboration of an action plan to support the behavioral/outcomes changes. Sixty participants (54.5%) completed the questionnaire in the one-month follow-up. Forty-one (68.3%) participants revealed that they had put their action plans into practice, while 63.3% claimed that they mostly reached their objectives. Motivation remains high after one month for participants who put their action plans in place (7.8 ± 1.9 versus 7.4 ± 1.6;p = 0.214), whereas it decreased significantly for those who did not (6.8 ± 2.1 versus 5.8 ± 2.0;p = 0.029). 文摘Objectives:This study aimed to investigate the effect of motivational interviewing on the self-care behaviours in patients with chronic heart failure.Methods:Sixty-two hospitalized patients with chronic heart failure were recruited in this study from April 2014 to April 2015 from a hospital.Twenty-nine patients were in the intervention group, and 33 patients were in the control group.Patients in the intervention group received four sessions of motivational interviewing, whereas those in the control group received traditional health education. At 2,4,and 8 weeks post-discharge,the intervention group underwent telephone follow-up based on motivational interviewing, whereas the control group underwent routine telephone follow-up.Primary outcome was measured using the Self-care of Heart Failure Index at baseline and at 2 months postdischarge. Results:Before intervention, the self-care behaviours scores were 79.00±48.80 in the intervention group and 88.68±29.26in the control group. No statistically significant differences were found between two groups in scores for each subscale and total scale(P>0.05).After intervention, the scores of self-care behaviours in the two groups were both improved at 155.13±35.65 for the intervention group and 115.44±22.82 for the control group with statistically significance(P<0.01).The score of self-care behaviours increased by 76.13 point in the intervention group on average, whereas 26.76 point in the control group. There was significant difference between increases in scores of self-care behaviours in two groups(P<0.01).Conclusions:The self-care behaviours of patients with chronic heart failure could be improved effectively through motivational interviewing.
文摘Age is an important factor in foreign language learning. Different age groups have different characteristics. Knowing these characteristics may help the learners to increase their learning speed and achievement. This paper focuses on the similarities and differences of different age groups in learning a foreign language from physical, cognitive, affective, motivational and linguistic domains. Teachers can take corresponding methods in foreign language teaching in accordance with special characteristics of the age group being taught so as to obtain the best result in language classroom.

文摘It is acknowledged that teachers' instruction and guidance play an important role in students' improvements of schooling. A number of teachers, however, regard effectively responding to students' papers as a touchy issue. In order to address this problem, this essay will review some of the major studies on teachers' response to students' writing in a historical way and, from these studies, some beneficial methods will be suggested, such as a process approach, collaborative ways of writing and motivational techniques.
文摘This paper aims to explore motivational variations in different teenage English learner groups in Chinese context.Drawing on L2 Motivational Self System as the theoretical framework, combining You and Dornyei’s research with my professional teaching experience, this paper found that students who learn English for the purpose of passing the exam,ought-to L2self dimension is the highest, with L2 learning experience and ideal L2 self following behind.Students who tend to live or study abroad, ideal L2 self is the best predictor, followed by L2 learning experience and ought-to L2 self. This indicates that teachers should improve teaching methods, apply motivational strategies in the classroom, and encourage and help students to use selfmotivating strategies to motivate themselves.
文摘Partenariat Santé (PS) launched in Québec in 2016, is inspired from the Cardiovascular Health Awareness Program (CHAP) and consists of a free session held in the community by students coming from different health sciences programs. The majority of them agreed that PS program was useful (75%) and led them to change their lifestyle related to cardiovascular hea
文摘An empirical survey among 219 school students in the framework of L2 Motivational Self System found that Ideal L2 Self,Ought-to L2 Self and L2 Learning Experience in the System make different contributions to L2 motivation respectively and L2 Learning Experience is the largest contributor to L2 motivation for primary and middle school students. The pedagogical implications are also suggested.
