Microwave absorbing materials(MAMs)has been intensively investigated in order to meet the requirement of electromagnetic radiation control,especially in S and C band.In this work,FeCo-based magnetic MAMs are hydrother...Microwave absorbing materials(MAMs)has been intensively investigated in order to meet the requirement of electromagnetic radiation control,especially in S and C band.In this work,FeCo-based magnetic MAMs are hydrothermally synthesized via a magnetic-field-induced process.The composition and morphology of the MAMs are capable of being adjusted simultaneously by the atomic ratio of Fe2+to Co2+in the precursor.The hierarchical magnetic microchain,which has a core–shell structure of twodimensional FexCo1−xOOH nanosheets anchored vertically on the surface of a one-dimensional(1D)Co microchain,shows significantly enhanced microwave absorption in C band,resulting in a reflection loss(RL)of lower than−20 dB at frequencies ranging from 4.4 to 8.0 GHz under a suitable matching thickness.The magnetic coupling of Co microcrystals and the double-loss mechanisms out of the core-shell structure are considered to promote the microwave attenuation capability.The hierarchical design of 1D magnetic MAMs provides a feasible strategy to solve the electromagnetic pollution in C band.展开更多
Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx MXene is widely regarded as a potential micro-wave absorber due to its dielectric multi-layered structure.However,missing magnetic loss capability of pure MXene leads to the unmatched electromagnetic par...Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx MXene is widely regarded as a potential micro-wave absorber due to its dielectric multi-layered structure.However,missing magnetic loss capability of pure MXene leads to the unmatched electromagnetic parameters and unsatisfied impedance matching condi-tion.Herein,with the inspiration from dielectric-magnetic synergy,this obstruction is solved by fabricating magnetic CNTs/Ni hetero-structure decorated MXene substrate via a facile in situ induced growth method.Ni2+ions are successfully attached on the surface and interlamination of each MXene unit by intensive electrostatic adsorption.Benefiting from the possible“seed-germination”effect,the“seeds”Ni^(2+)grow into“buds”Ni nanoparticles and“stem”carbon nanotubes(CNTs)from the enlarged“soil”of MXene skeleton.Due to the improved impedance matching con-dition,the MXene-CNTs/Ni hybrid holds a superior microwave absorp-tion performance of−56.4 dB at only 2.4 mm thickness.Such a distinctive 3D architecture endows the hybrids:(i)a large-scale 3D magnetic coupling network in each dielectric unit that leading to the enhanced magnetic loss capability,(ii)a massive multi-heterojunction interface structure that resulting in the reinforced polarization loss capability,confirmed by the off-axis electron holography.These outstanding results provide novel ideas for developing magnetic MXene-based absorbers.展开更多
The advance in communication technology has triggered worldwide concern on electromagnetic wave pollution.To cope with this challenge,exploring high-performance electromagnetic(EM)wave absorbing materials with dielect...The advance in communication technology has triggered worldwide concern on electromagnetic wave pollution.To cope with this challenge,exploring high-performance electromagnetic(EM)wave absorbing materials with dielectric and magnetic losses coupling is urgently required.Of the EM wave absorbers,transition metal diborides(TMB2)possess excellent dielectric loss capability.However,akin to other single dielectric materials,poor impedance match leads to inferior performance.High-entropy engineering is expected to be effective in tailoring the balance between dielectric and magnetic losses through compositional design.Herein,three HE TMB2 powders with nominal equimolar TM including HE TMB2-I(TM=Zr,Hf,Nb,Ta),HE TMB2-2(TM=Ti,Zr,Hf,Nb,Ta),and HE TMB2-3(TM=Cr,Zr,Hf,Nb,Ta)have been designed and prepared by one-step boro/carbothermal reduction.As a result of synergistic effects of strong attenuation capability and impedance match,HE TMB2-1 shows much improved performance with the optimal minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of-59.6 dB(8.48 GHz,2.68 mm)and effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 7.6 GHz(2.3 mm).Most impressively,incorporating Cr in HE TMB2-3 greatly improves the impedance match over 1-18 GHz,thus achieving the RLmin of-56.2 dB(8.48 GHz,2.63 mm)and the EAB of 11.0 GHz(2.2 mm),which is superior to most other EM wave absorbing materials.This work reveals that constructing high-entropy compounds,especially by incorporating magnetic elements,is effectual in tailoring the impedance match for highly conductive compounds,i.e.,tuning electrical conductivity and boosting magnetic loss to realize highly efficient and broadband EM wave absorption with dielectric and magnetic coupling in single-phase materials.展开更多
