The present study, using tannic acid-captured exocytotic method,aims to investigate ultrastructurally the secretion of the anterior pituitary gland cells of the rat. The exocytosis is frequently identified on lactotrophs and corticotrophs, but rarely somatotrophs,gonadotrophs and thyrotrophs. 12 lactotrophs and 12 corticotrophs of the anterior pituitary are randomly selected from each sample and the exocytotic secretory granules (ESG) are counted. The ESG(x) is 1. 1 6?. 1 6 in lactotrophs and 1. 21?0.24 in corticotrophs (P>0. 05). The results morphologically suggest that the lactotrophs,as well as corticotrophs strongly respond to the stress.展开更多
