An interference suppression design scheme based on conjugate weighted butterfly interleaving mapping(CWBIM)is proposed for inter-carrier interference(ICI)and inter-subband interference(IBI)in the received signals of universal filtered multi-carrier(UFMC)systems.It applies an interleaving mapping operation to subtract the interference coefficients of adjacent terms in ICI and IBI twice,thereby achieving suppression effects similar to the self-cancellation(SC)algorithm while maintaining the original data transmission efficiency.Meanwhile,conjugate and complex weighting operations can effectively suppress the impact of phase rotation errors in high-speed mobile channel environments,thereby further improving the bit error rate(BFR)performance of the system,Moreover,butterfly operation can effectively control the computational complexity of the interleaving mapping process.Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that,compared with the PSC-UFMC algorithm,the CWBIM-UFMC scheme proposed in this paper can effectively suppress ICI and IBI in the received signal without compromising data transmission efficiency and reducing computational complexity,thereby achieving good BER performance of the system. 展开更多

In this paper,a Doppler scaling fast Fourier transform(Doppler-FFT)algorithm for filter bank multi-carrier(FBMC)is proposed,which can efficiently eliminate the impact of the Doppler scaling in satellite communications.By introducing a Doppler scaling factor into the butterfly structure of the fast Fourier transform(FFT)algorithm,the proposed algorithm eliminates the differences between the Doppler shifts of the received subcarriers,and maintains the same order of computational complexity compared to that of the traditional FFT.In the process of using the new method,the Doppler scaling should be estimated by calculating the orbital data in advance.Thus,the inter-symbol interference(ISI)and the inter-carrier interference(ICI)can be completely eliminated,and the signal to interference and noise ratio(SINR)will not be affected.Simulation results also show that the proposed algorithm can achieve a 0.4 d B performance gain compared to the frequency domain equalization(FDE)algorithm in satellite communications. 展开更多

A new sparse channel estimation method of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) system based on intercarrier interference(ICI) self-cancellation is investigated. Firstly,based on the characteristic that the ICI generated by a subcarrier to the two adjacent subcarriers is approximately equal, a data pair with opposite sign and equal magnitude is modulated onto two adjacent subcarriers as pilot pair to eliminate the effect of ICI on pilots. Secondly, a new OFDM channel estimation model based on linear time-varying(LTV) model and compressed sensing(CS) is constructed, which obtains the mean of the gains of the multipath.Finally, a pilot pair optimization algorithm based on two layers loop is used to realize the minimization of the mutual coherence of the measurement matrix. For time-varying channel scenes with different numbers or delay of multipath and maximum Doppler frequency shift, the performances of several channel estimation methods are verified by simulation. The result shows that the new method has obvious advantage in both the performance of the channel estimation and the spectral efficiency. 展开更多

A signal detection algorithm is proposed for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) sys- tem in the presence of fast time-varying channel. The channel is represented by a piece-wise linear variant model with normalized Doppler frequency of less than 0.2. The channel parameters are extracted through ISI/ICI (inter-symbol in- terference/inter-carrier interference) cancellation and circular convolution reconstruction. Meanwhile, an improved OFDM symbol detection algorithm is also proposed based on circular convolution reconstruction. The channel state in- formation in the OFDM symbol duration can be obtained accurately from the adjacent two block pilots in a linear model. The simulation results show that the proposed method can not only track the channel variation, but also promise better performance gain in the OFDM symbol detection. Furthermore, the bit error ratio (BER) is close to the perform- ance with the perfect channel state information. 展开更多

The influence of phase noise(PN) present at the access point(AP) and mobile terminator(MT) may degrade the performance in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, because the OFDM system is sensitive to the PN. The method of PN approximation based on the PN power spectrum was proposed to combat the influence of the PN present. The idea of the PN cancellation is the PN is approximated for the sum of the different frequency between the AP and the MT as well as Doppler shift supposing that the fixed different frequency during several OFDM symbols are identical, so the variable phase may be considered as the combination of the fixed partition and the random partition. The approximation method is utilized to remove the fixed and the random phase partition so that the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) may be improved. The analysis and the simtilation proposed show that the method may effectively improve the performance of the OFDM system. 展开更多

The orthogonality between the subcarriers of multipleinput multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing( MIMO-OFDM) systems is destroyed due to the Doppler frequency offset,particularly in the high-speed train( HST) environment,which leads to severe inter-carrier interference( ICI). Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the mechanism and influence factor of ICI in HST environment. In this paper, by using a non-stationary geometry-based stochastic model( GBSM) for MIMO HST channels, ICI is analyzed through investigating the channel coefficients and the carrier-to-interference power ratio( CIR). It is a fact that most of signal energy spreads on itself and its several neighborhood subcarriers. By investigating the amplitude of subcarriers, CIR is used to evaluate the ICI power level. The simulation results show that the biggest impact factor for the CIR is the multipath number L and the minimum impact factor K; when the train speed υR> 400 km / h,the normalized Doppler frequency offset ε > 0. 35,the CIR tends to zero,and the communication quality will be very poor at this condition. Finally,bit error rate( BER) is investigated by simulating a specific channel environment. 展开更多

This paper proposes a new receive scheme and a class of time domain second order polynomial Nyquist window functions, and applies them to Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing ( OFDM ) systems in order to reduce Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) induced by frequency offset. This paper also analyzes the Signal to ICI plus Noise Ratio (SINR) and Bit Error Rate (BER) performances of the receiver. Additionally, this paper proposes a method to select optimum window parameters to maximize the SINR of the receiver thus providing an adaptive receiving capability. Our results show that the proposed method enables the use of unity roll-off factor, provides better SINR and BER than conventional receive methods whose roll-off factors are generally less than one. The new second order polynomial window is shown to provide better performance than raised cosine and "better than " Nyquist window. 展开更多

However, OFDM systems are very sensitive to the phase noise, which causes the CPE (common phase error) and ICI (inter-carrier interference), and thus degrades the system performance significantly. Based on the IEEE 802.11a standard, a simplified iterative phase noise mitigation algorithm is proposed. The proposed algorithm has very low complexity, and requires no additional pilot information. The simulation result shows that good BER performance can be achieved through several few times of iteration. 展开更多

The aeronautical en-route communication channel is modeled as a two-ray double-selective channel. Based on the channel model, a low-eomplexity iteration self-cancellation algorithm is proposed to cancel the inter-carrier interference (ICI) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system in aeronautical communications. ICI can be completely suppressed by the proposed algorithm if channel parameters are estimated ideally. We analyzed the SNR loss with variant iteration times theoretically, and pointed out how to choose the optimum iteration times. The algorithm is especially useful to the situation with high aviation veloc- ity, as less iteration is sufficient to separate the interference with larger Doppler shift, and less noise will he introduced. We carried out Monte Carlo simulation with typical aeronautical en-route channel, and the simulation results are in agreement with the deduced theoretical performance expressions and validate the effect of our cancellation algorithm. 展开更多

In the current multi-carrier communications,Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM)is widely considered as a leading technology.For mobile applications,however,the orthogonality between subcarriers is deteriorated by Doppler frequency shift,which will introduce serious subcarrier phase rotation in the received signals and degrade the system performance.Thus,a method of differential grouping weighted symmetry data-conjugate(DWSCC)have been previously presented to obtain a better inter-carrier interference(ICI)suppressing effect and Bit Error Rate(BER)performance with no loss of spectral efficiency.In this paper,a novel scheme applying a completely different method of subcarrier interactive mapping is put forward.By mapping two different symbols which are both conjugated or multiplied by a complex weighting factor onto a pair of symmetric subcarriers,the presented scheme can greatly reduce the influence of subcarriers phase rotation caused by Doppler frequency shift in highly mobile environments.Analysis and simulation results indicate that comparing with the DWSCC method,our formulated scheme can not only maintain the spectrum utilization with no loss,but also have the advantages of an improvement on reduction effect and BER performance as well as a lower computational complexity in highly mobile environments. 展开更多

As one of the most important components of the wideband wireless access technique, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has a high usage rate of spectrum and combats inter-symbol interference (ISI) in multi-path fading channel. However, when there are frequency offsets during the signal transmission, the inter-carrier interference (ICI) is introduced, which significantly degrades the performance. The existing ICI self-cancellation schemes such as PCC-OFDM are not optimum to minimize the interference considering both noise and ICI. In this paper, a new metric named S1NR (signal-to-interference- and-noise ratio) is proposed. We discuss the optimization issue when a constant frequency offset exists and in time-varying channels. The optimum weighting-coefficient-pair (OWCP) is obtained, which maximizes SINR theoretically through the alternant iteration algorithm. Simulations show that the performance of OWCP-OFDM is better than that of PCC-OFDM, especially when the frequency offset is large. Although the ICI self-cancellation scheme suffers bandwidth inefficiency, from the simulation results we can also see that the performance of OWCP-OFDM is much better than that of the standard OFDM systems with the same bandwidth efficiency when a frequency offset exists. Moreover, since the redundant modulation provides the capability to suppress ICI as well as a receiving SNR gain, it can be considered as exchanging the bandwidth for SNR. 展开更多

According to a typical OFDM signal model, this letter proves that the coefficient matrix of ICI is a unitary matrix whose inverse matrix is much easier to get, and then proposes a new ICI cancellation method with less computation complexity by sending typical pilot symbols. Compared with two existing ICI cancellation methods, self-cancellation and windowing cancellation, it is shown that the proposed algorithm can cancel ICI better and overcome the limitation of the two traditional methods. 展开更多

基于大线宽相干光正交频分复用(CO-OFDM)系统,提出了一种可以有效克服符号判决错误的盲载波间干扰(ICI)相位噪声补偿算法。使用该算法之前,先使用无迭代盲(IFB)算法对公共相位误差(CPE)的相位噪声进行补偿。该算法采用了形式简单的代价... 基于大线宽相干光正交频分复用(CO-OFDM)系统,提出了一种可以有效克服符号判决错误的盲载波间干扰(ICI)相位噪声补偿算法。使用该算法之前,先使用无迭代盲(IFB)算法对公共相位误差(CPE)的相位噪声进行补偿。该算法采用了形式简单的代价函数,可大幅减小计算复杂度。该ICI相位噪声补偿算法包括粗略ICI和精细ICI相位噪声补偿两个阶段,先使用平均能量盲(Avg-BL)算法进行粗略ICI相位噪声补偿,再使用公共相位误差分割补偿(CPEC)算法进行精细ICI相位噪声补偿。该CPEC算法对粗略ICI相位噪声补偿后的频域数据进行判决,再将每个接收到的正交频分多路复用(OFDM)时域符号分割为一定数目的亚符号,从而求出每个亚符号中相位噪声的近似平均值。Avg-BL算法有效解决了CPEC算法中的符号判决错误传播问题;CPEC算法在时域OFDM亚符号分割数目较大的情况下,对ICI相位噪声具有较好的补偿效果。对50Gbit/s CO-OFDM系统在传输距离为100km的情况进行了仿真,仿真结果表明,与Avg-BL算法和CPEC算法等ICI相位噪声算法相比,所提算法具有较好的相位噪声补偿效果,且具有较高的频谱利用率。在该算法中,选择合适的时域OFDM亚符号分割数目,可取得较好的补偿效果,且算法复杂度并未显著增加。 展开更多

将OFDM技术应用于对流层散射通信可以提高散射通信容量,但子载波间干扰(ICI)成为降低系统性能的主要因素,为此引入天线分集技术以抑制ICI的影响。在建立散射信道模型基础上,分析与求解了OFDM系统的ICI数学统计特性,然后引入天线分集技术... 将OFDM技术应用于对流层散射通信可以提高散射通信容量,但子载波间干扰(ICI)成为降低系统性能的主要因素,为此引入天线分集技术以抑制ICI的影响。在建立散射信道模型基础上,分析与求解了OFDM系统的ICI数学统计特性,然后引入天线分集技术,分析与推导了系统的误码率,通过仿真,对比了采用天线分集技术前后OFDM系统的误码率性能。结果表明:ICI随归一化多普勒扩展的增大而迅速增加,从而使OFDM系统产生误码平台,分集技术可以克服以上问题,在归一化多普勒频移0.02,信噪比20dB时,2重分集能使误码率降低2个数量级以上,3重分集使误码率降低4个数量级。 展开更多
