The phase match condition between...Efficient second harmonic generation (SHG) in a nonlinear transparent conducting oxide (TCO) stripe wave- guide that incorporates an organic polymer is theoretically investigated. The phase match condition between the fundamental photonic mode at the second harmonic and the fundamental long-range plasmonic mode at the fundamental frequency can be satisfied by dynamically or statically tuning the free carrier concentration of the TCO. The theoretically generated signal reaches its maximum up to 56.4 mW at a propagation distance of 34.8 pm for a pumping power of 1 W. The corresponding normalized conversion efficiency of the phase-matched SHG is up to 4.65 × 103 W-1 cm-2.展开更多
Subcycle spectral structures and dynamics of high-order harmonic generation(HHG)processes of atoms and molecules driven by intense laser fields on the attosecond time scale have been originally studied theoretically a...Subcycle spectral structures and dynamics of high-order harmonic generation(HHG)processes of atoms and molecules driven by intense laser fields on the attosecond time scale have been originally studied theoretically and ex-perimentally.However,the time scale of HHG dynamics in crystals is in the order of sub-femtosecond,and the carrier dynamics of HHG in crystals driven by subcycle laser pulses are largely unexplored.Here we perform a theoretical study of subcycle structures,spectra,and dynamics of HHG of crystals in mid-infrared laser fields subject to excitation by a subcycle laser pulse with a time delay.The HHG spectra as a function of time delay between two laser fields are cal-culated by using a single-band model for the intra-band carrier dynamics in crystal momentum space and by solving the time-dependent Schr?dinger equation in velocity gauge for the treatment of multi-band crystal systems.The results exhibit a complex time-delay-dependent oscillatory pattern,and the enhancement and suppression of the HHG related to subcycle pulse are observed at the given time delay in either single-band or multi-band crystal systems.To understand oscillation structures with respect to the dependence for the subcycle laser fields,the time-frequency characteristics of the HHG as well as the probability density distribution of the radiation are analyzed in detail.展开更多
Cascaded H-Bridge inverter has been researched for the past two decades, but there are no explicit guidelines on how one can realize a cascaded NPC (neutral-point-clamped)/H-Bridge inverter. Past research has also c...Cascaded H-Bridge inverter has been researched for the past two decades, but there are no explicit guidelines on how one can realize a cascaded NPC (neutral-point-clamped)/H-Bridge inverter. Past research has also concentrated on realizing a five-level NPC/H-Bridge inverter. This fails to address the principle of realizing a general cascaded N-level NPC/H-Bridge PWM inverter. This paper proposes an improved topology for achieving a nine-level cascaded NPC (neutral-point-clamped) H-Bridge inverter with reduced harmonic content. This new proposed topology requires a lesser number of separate dc sources as compared to conventional cascaded H-Bridge inverter. The whole system is considered as having four three level legs having two positive and two negative legs. By properly phase shifting the modulating wave and carriers, a nine-level output is achieved. A theoretical harmonic analysis of the proposed inverter is carried out based on double Fourier principle. The theoretical results are verified through MATLAB simulation.展开更多
