TSCA single crystals were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation method. The solubility of TSCA has been determined for various temperatures. The grown crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD), FTIR, UV-Vis., thermal and second harmonic generation (SHG) analysis. Single crystal XRD study has been carried out to identify the lattice parameters. FTIR studies confirm the functional groups present in the grown crystal. Optical transmission studies have confirmed that the grown crystal is highly transparent. Thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses reveal the good thermal stability of the material. The SHG conversion efficiency of TSCA was determined using Kurtz powder technique and found two times that of potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate (KDP).展开更多

In the present study Tris-Glycine Zinc Chloride were grown is single crystal form using slow evaporation technique. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the crystal belongs to orthorhombic system with the space group Pbn21. The optical absorption studies show that the crystal is transparent in the entire visible region with a cut off wavelength of 250 nm. The optical band gap is found to be 4.60 eV. The dependence of extinction coefficient (K) and refractive index (n) on the wavelength has also been reported. Force constants (k) were calculated using FTIR spectral analysis which shows higher values of k for COO and C=O stretching vibrations. The dielectric studies show that the dielectric constant and dielectric loss decrease exponentially with frequency at different temperatures (35℃, 55℃, 75℃ and 95℃).展开更多

Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis was used to calculate the lattice parameters of the crystals. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopies were performed to study the molecular vibrations of the grown crystal. The optical transmission spectrum shows very low absorption in the entire visible region. The powder second harmonic generation efficiency of LGAHCB is 1.5 times efficient as potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP).展开更多

In order to know its suitability for device fabrication, different characterization analyses have been performed. The single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) and powder X-ray diffraction methods are used for identifying the structural parameters of grown crystals. It is found that the addition of dopant doesn’t change the crystal structure. The range and percentage of optical transmission as well as absorption are ascertained by recording UV-Vis-NIR spectrum. No absorption in the entire visible region implies that it is a potential candidate for optoelectronic applications. The modes of vibration of different groups present in the crystals are identified by FT-IR technique. To understand the thermal properties, thermo gravimetric and differential thermal analyses (TGA & DTA) were carried out. The melting point was confirmed by differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) analysis. The amount of dopant included into the crystals was estimated by colorimetric method. The second harmonic generation efficiency measured by Kurtz powder technique is 0.53 times that of potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate.展开更多

The solubility and metastable zone width of aqueous solutions of pure and KCl (10 mol%) doped KAP crystal were evaluated to analyze the crystallization process. Measuring the induction period τ, the critical nucleation parameters like interfacial energy (σ), energy of formation of the critical nucleus (ΔG*) were determined using the classical theory of nucleation. The structural properties and optical constants of the grown crystals have been put to test and observed that the addition of KCl results in an enhancement of properties of the crystal. Grown crystals were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction. FTIR spectra confirmed the presence of KCl in pure KAP crystal. UV- Visible spectroscopic studies revealed that addition of KCl in pure KAP crystal increased transparency from 75% to 80%. The analysis of the optical absorption data revealed the presence of both indirect and direct transitions and both of these band gaps increased with the addition of KCl. The transmittance data was analyzed to calculate the refractive index, oscillator energy, dispersion energy, electric susceptibility, zero-frequency dielectric constant and both the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric permittivity as a function of photon energy. The moments of ε(E) were also determined. The dispersion i.e. spectral dependence of the refractive index was discussed according to the single-effective oscillator model proposed by Wemple and DiDomenico.展开更多
