We estimate vehicle dynamic states in presence of the road bank angle as a disturbance in the vehicle model using a robust observer. The estimated roll angle and roll rate are used to compute the rollover index which is based on the prediction of the lateral load transfer. In order to anticipate rollover detection, a new method is proposed to compute the time to rollover(TTR) using the load transfer ratio(LTR). The nonlinear model, deduced from the vehicle lateral and roll dynamics, is represented by a Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy model. This representation is used to account for the nonlinearities of lateral cornering forces. The proposed T-S observer is designed with unmeasurable premise variables to cater for non-availability of the slip angles measurement. The proposed approach is evaluated using Car Sim simulator under different driving scenarios. Simulation results show good efficiency of the proposed T-S observer and the rollover detection method.展开更多

A flight control system of super-maneuver is reconstructed by adopting three layers BP neural networks of number 3, and the fire/flight coupler is designed by introducing a fuzzy control rule whose universe of discourse and gain are regulated adaptively on the line. Furthermore, a new method of real-time distributed 3-dimensional animation simulation is put forward, and a real-time distributed 3-dimensional animation simulation tool platform is constructed in this paper. It is difficult to advance an exact developing level index of EDA due to its indicator system’s complexity and disequilibrium. In this paper, a framework of indicators was set to evaluate, monitor and examine the comprehensive level of ecological demonstration area (EDA). Fuzzy logic method was used to develop the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model (FCEM), which could quantitatively reveal the developing degree of EDA. Huiji District of Zhengzhou, Henan Province, one of the 9th group of national EDAs, was taken as a study case. The framework of FCEM for the integrated system included six subsystems, which were social, economic, ecological, rural, urban and accessorial description ones. The research would be valuable in the comprehensive quantitative evaluation of EDA and would work as a guide in the construction practices of Huiji ecological demonstration area.展开更多

One of these identification methods is keystroke dynamics. The keystroke dynamics is a biometric measurement in terms of keystroke press duration and keystroke latency. However, several problems are arisen like the similarity between users and identification accuracy. In this paper, we propose innovative model that can help to solve the problem of similar user by classifying user’s data based on a membership function. Next, we employ sequence alignment as a way of pattern discovery from the user’s typing behaviour. Experiments were conducted to evaluate accuracy of the proposed model. The results show high performance compared to standard classifiers in terms of accuracy and precision.展开更多

Matlab-Simulink is adopted to test the function of the adaptive fuzzy ACC controller. The control system is established using a 7 DOF vehicle dynamics model. This paper presents a novel neural-fuzzy-based adaptive sliding mode automatic steering control strategy to improve the driving performance of vision-based unmanned electric vehicles with time-varying and uncertain pa...This paper presents a novel neural-fuzzy-based adaptive sliding mode automatic steering control strategy to improve the driving performance of vision-based unmanned electric vehicles with time-varying and uncertain parameters.Primarily,the kinematic and dynamic models which accurately express the steering behaviors of vehicles are constructed,and in which the relationship between the look-ahead time and vehicle velocity is revealed.Then,in order to overcome the external disturbances,parametric uncertainties and time-varying features of vehicles,a neural-fuzzy-based adaptive sliding mode automatic steering controller is proposed to supervise the lateral dynamic behavior of unmanned electric vehicles,which includes an equivalent control law and an adaptive variable structure control law.In this novel automatic steering control system of vehicles,a neural network system is utilized for approximating the switching control gain of variable structure control law,and a fuzzy inference system is presented to adjust the thickness of boundary layer in real-time.The stability of closed-loop neural-fuzzy-based adaptive sliding mode automatic steering control system is proven using the Lyapunov theory.Finally,the results illustrate that the presented control scheme has the excellent properties in term of error convergence and robustness.展开更多
The seemingly complex nature of river flow and the significant variability it exhibits in both time and space, have largely led to the development and application of the stochastic process concept for its modelling, f...The seemingly complex nature of river flow and the significant variability it exhibits in both time and space, have largely led to the development and application of the stochastic process concept for its modelling, forecasting, and other ancillary purposes. Towards this end, in this study, attempt was made at stochastic modelling of the daily streamflow process of the Benue River. In this regard, Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA) models and its derivative, the Periodic Autoregressive (PAR) model were developed and used for forecasting. Comparative forecast performances of the different models indicate that despite the shortcomings associated with univariate time series, reliable forecasts can be obtained for lead times, 1 to 5 day-ahead. The forecast results also showed that the traditional ARMA model could not robustly simulate high flow regimes unlike the periodic AR (PAR). Thus, for proper understanding of the dynamics of the river flow and its management, especially, flood defense, in the light of this study, the traditional ARMA models may not be suitable since they do not allow for real-time appraisal. To account for seasonal variations, PAR models should be used in forecasting the streamflow processes of the Benue River. However, since almost all mechanisms involved in the river flow processes present some degree of nonlinearity thus, how appropriate the stochastic process might be for every flow series may be called to question.展开更多
