Free-space optical(FSO)communication is of supreme importance for designing next-generation networks.Over the past decades,the radio frequency(RF)spectrum has been the main topic of interest for wireless technology.Th...Free-space optical(FSO)communication is of supreme importance for designing next-generation networks.Over the past decades,the radio frequency(RF)spectrum has been the main topic of interest for wireless technology.The RF spectrum is becoming denser and more employed,making its availability tough for additional channels.Optical communication,exploited for messages or indications in historical times,is now becoming famous and useful in combination with error-correcting codes(ECC)to mitigate the effects of fading caused by atmospheric turbulence.A free-space communication system(FSCS)in which the hybrid technology is based on FSO and RF.FSCS is a capable solution to overcome the downsides of current schemes and enhance the overall link reliability and availability.The proposed FSCS with regular low-density parity-check(LDPC)for coding techniques is deliberated and evaluated in terms of signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)in this paper.The extrinsic information transfer(EXIT)methodology is an incredible technique employed to investigate the sum-product decoding algorithm of LDPC codes and optimize the EXIT chart by applying curve fitting.In this research work,we also analyze the behavior of the EXIT chart of regular/irregular LDPC for the FSCS.We also investigate the error performance of LDPC code for the proposed FSCS.展开更多

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationships among the variables, and how interest rate, unemployment, stock market, and consumer confidence affect housing market index (HM1) in the U.S.. We constru...The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationships among the variables, and how interest rate, unemployment, stock market, and consumer confidence affect housing market index (HM1) in the U.S.. We construct vector autoregression (VAR) model with variables such as unemployment rate (UMR), consumer confidence index (CCI), the Dow Jones industrial index (DJI), and interest rate, etc., to forecast the HMI. Our model and analysis show that U.S. HMI very sensitive to unemployment and interest rates. Every 1% moves in unemployment and interest rates will result in HMI to move in the opposite direction by 11.7% and 11.4% respectively. However, changes in CCI and stock mark index have only minor impacts on HMI--0.49% and 0.3%, changes for 1% fluctuation in CCI and DJI. Our research also shows that relationships among these variables associated with housing market are very stable in the long run.展开更多

It is proved that the classic linear error-control block code is hom...In this work, the homomorphism of the classic linear block code in linear network coding for the case of binary field and its extensions is studied. It is proved that the classic linear error-control block code is homomorphic network error-control code in network coding. That is, if the source packets at the source node for a linear network coding are precoded using a linear block code, then every packet flowing in the network regarding to the source satisfies the same constraints as the source. As a consequence, error detection and correction can be performed at every intermediate nodes of multicast flow, rather than only at the destination node in the conventional way, which can help to identify and correct errors timely at the error-corrupted link and save the cost of forwarding error-corrupted data to the destination node when the intermediate nodes are ignorant of the errors. In addition, three examples are demonstrated which show that homomorphic linear code can be combined with homomorphic signature, McEliece public-key cryptosystem and unequal error protection respectively and thus have a great potential of practical utility.展开更多
