On the basis of vegetation div...Three types of landscape boundary (forest/pepper field, forest/cabbage field,and forest/grassland) were selected in the arid valley of upper reaches of Minjiang River,southwestern China. On the basis of vegetation diversity, the depth of edge influence (DEI) ondifferent types of landscape boundaries was estimated using principal components analysis (PCA)method and moving split-window techniques (MSWT). The results showed that in the 5 transects, PCAmethod was able to detect the edge influence depth with 3 transects, while MSWT could explain 4transects. It is concluded that PCA and MSWT both can be used to detect the depth of edge influencewithin 50 m from the edge to the interior. Similar conclusions were drawn in the forest of eachtransect with the two methods, but no similar conclusions were drawn in the pepper field of eachtransect. Although the two methods have advantages and disadvantages respectively, they are usefultools for characterizing edge dynamics. Comparing the two methods, MSWT is more successful.展开更多

The potential ability of the DEI was explored for displaying the microanatomy and pathology of hu...Diffraction enhanced imaging (DEI) with edge enhancement is suitable for the observation of weakly absorbing objects. The potential ability of the DEI was explored for displaying the microanatomy and pathology of human eyeball in this work. The images of surgical specimens from malignant intraocular tumor of hospitalized patients were taken using the hard X-rays from the topography station of Beamline 4W1A at Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). The obtained radiographic images were analyzed in correlation with those of pathology. The results show that the anatomic and pathologic details of intraocular tumors in human beings can be observed clearly by DEI for the first time, with good visualization of the microscopic details of eyeball ring such as sclera, choroids and other details of intraocular organelles. And the best resolution of DEI images reaches up to the magnitude of several tens of μm. The results suggest that it is capable of exhibiting clearly the details of intraocular tumor using DEI method.展开更多

L’Autore ha analizzato le categorie corologiche notando una certa preponderanza delle specieEuropee (68%), su quelle Eurocentroasiatiche (22%) e su quelle italiche (10%). Lo studio delle microco-muuità ha messo in evidenza 3 modelli fondamentali: la m. del bosco submediterraneo (con prevalenzadi Rettili), la m. degli ambienti umidi (con prevalenza di Anfibi) e la m. dei boschi umidi (specie tipicaSalamandra salamandra). Among these is relevant to mention Bombina variegata, now rare in Lombardy, and Rana latastei.The Author analyzes the corological categories noting a certain predominance of the European species(68%) on the Eurocentroasiatic (22%) and the Italic (10%) ones. The study of the microcommunitieshas evidenced three fundamental models: the m. of the submediterranean wood (with prevalence of Repti-les), the m. of the umid environments (with prevalence of Amphibians) and the m. of the damp woods(with the typical species Salamandra salamandra).展开更多
