Previous studies have shown that pretreatment and hydrolysis are key processes for lignocellulose conversion. Hydrothermal process is a promising technique because of its efficiency to break down the lignocellulosic structures and produce fermentable hexoses. Most studies in this field have therefore focused on understanding these processes or optimizing the parameters, but commonly reported low yields of fermentable hexoses. The inability to produce high yields of fermentable hexoses is mainly attributed to inadequate information on the conversion mechanisms of lignocellulose, particularly the reaction rules of dissolu- tion, which is a limiting step in the entire conversion process. This paper critically reviewed the progress done in the research and development of the hydrothermal dissolution and hydrolysis of lignocellulose. Principles, processes, and related studies on separate dissolution and asynchronous hydrolysis of lignin, hemieellulose, and cellulose are presented. Potential research prospects are also suggested.展开更多

The algorithm can circumvent the difficulties associated with the possible inconsistency of QP subproblem of the original SQP method. Moreover, the algorithm can converge to a point which satisfies a certain first-order necessary condition even if the original problem is itself infeasible. Under certain condition, some global convergence results are proved and local superlinear convergence results are also obtained. Preliminary numerical results are reported.展开更多

Unlike the non-adaptive approach of computing the optimum minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) solution with the correlation matrix inversion, the Frost algorithm implementing the stochastic constrained least mean square (LMS) algorithm can adaptively converge to the MVDR solution in mean-square sense, but with a very slow convergence rate. In this paper, we propose a frequency-domain constrained conjugate gradient (FDCCG) algorithm to speed up the convergence. The devised FDCCG algorithm avoids the matrix inversion and exhibits fast convergence. The speech enhancement experiments for the target speech signal corrupted by two and five interfering speech signals are demonstrated by using a four-channel acoustic-vector-sensor (AVS) micro-phone array and show the superior performance.展开更多

Under certain condition, the method was proved to converge quadratically in literature. However, it is shown in this paper that under the original given condition the inexact RQI may not quadratically converge to the desired eigenpair and even may misconverge to some other undesired eigenpair. A new condition, called the uniform positiveness condition, is given that can fix misconvergence problem and ensure the quadratic convergence of the inexact RQI. An alternative to the inexact RQI is the Jacobi-Davidson (JD) method without subspace acceleration. A new proof of its linear convergence is presented and a sharper bound is established in the paper. All the results are verified and analyzed by numerical experiments.展开更多
