About 30 million hectares of rice are cultivated annually in China(FAOSTAT,2019).Because most rice fields are wellirrigated and suitable for fish living(‘fish’here refers to various aquatic animals like carps,prawns,crabs,soft shell turtles,etc.)(Fernando,1993),many efforts have been made to determine how well rice farming and aquaculture can be coupled as a rice-fish system(RFS),of which the same land and water produces both rice and aquatic products.With the technological guidance of RFSs and political supports from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China since 2010(Supplemental Table 1),multiple types of large-scale,high-efficiency and technologically intensive RFSs are now being demonstrated in the main rice-growing areas of China(National Fisheries Technology Extension Centre,2019),and in total about 1.2 million hectares of rice fields are under RFSs. 展开更多

What is already known about this topic?Since the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS(UNAIDS)announced the 90-90-90 targets to control the global HIV epidemic in 2014,many countries have undertaken innovative measures to achieve this goal.The National Center for AIDS/STD Control and Prevention(NCAIDS)of China CDC convenes experts annually to evaluate the national progress towards these indicators.The most recent progress of 90-90-90 targets in China has not been previously published.What is added by this report?At the end of 2018,the percentage of living with HIV(PLWH)who had received a confirmed HIV diagnosis in China was 68.9%(61.5%-78.3%).The antiretroviral treatment coverage of diagnosed PLWH was 83.4%,and among patients on treatment for at least 12 months,94.2%achieved viral suppression.This provides most recent progress of 90-90-90 target in China.What are the implications for public health practice?China has made significant strides in curbing the HIV epidemic,but analysis on progress for the first 90 target for HIV testing remains out of reach.Innovative testing strategies may need to be developed to ensure that more PLWH can be identified. 展开更多

Medical imaging is involved in all processes of clinical practice.Approximately 70%of diagnostic information originates from radiologic images,which also account for 90%of the digital data volume of a hospital.However,the number of physicians has increased only modestly compared to the rapid growth in the number of medical images.In China,data from medical imaging increases by 30%every year,whereas the number of radiologists increases by only 4%annually.Artificial intelligence(AI),which is representative technology of the fourth industrial revolution,may alleviate the increasing pressure and job burnout,and further improve the diagnostic efficiency of radiology services[1].Despite the urgent and realistic demand for AI technology,many challenges remain in the development and translation of AI products.The rate of the scientific translation of AI research into clinical applications is extremely low.Furthermore,AI models that are applied in clinical settings exhibit unreliable performance and are often impractical[2].Therefore,radiologists may not have access to suitable medical imaging AI models to solve specific clinical problems.This paper analyzes and discusses this problem according to two aspects:the data sources and the AI algorithm(Fig.1). 展开更多

THE IMPACT OF DIFFERENT PHYSICAL PROCESSES AND THEIR PARAMETERIZATIONS ON FORECAST OF A HEAVY RAINFALL IN SOUTH CHINA IN ANNUALLY FIRST RAINING SEASON 被引量:6

An ensemble prediction system based on the GRAPES model, using multi-physics, is used to discuss the influence of different physical processes in numerical models on forecast of heavy rainfall in South China in the annually first raining season(AFRS). Pattern, magnitude and area of precipitation, evolution of synoptic situation, as well as apparent heat source and apparent moisture sink between different ensemble members are comparatively analyzed. The choice of parameterization scheme for land-surface processes gives rise to the largest influence on the precipitation prediction. The influences of cumulus-convection and cloud-microphysics processes are mainly focused on heavy rainfall;the use of cumulus-convection parameterization tends to produce large-area and light rainfall. Change in parameterization schemes for land-surface and cumulus-convection processes both will cause prominent change in forecast of both dynamic and thermodynamic variables, while change in cloud-microphysics processes show primary impact on dynamic variables. Comparing simplified Arakawa-Schubert and Kain-Fritsch with Betts-Miller-Janjic schemes, SLAB with NOAH schemes, as well as both WRF single moment 6-class and NCEP 3-class with simplified explicit schemes of phase-mixed cloud and precipitation shows that the former predicts stronger low-level jets and high humidity concentration, more convective rainfall and local heavy rainfall, and have better performance in precipitation forecast. Appropriate parameterization schemes can reasonably describe the physical process related to heavy rainfall in South China in the AFRS, such as low-level convergence, latent heat release, vertical transport of heat and water vapor, thereby depicting the multi-scale interactions of low-level jet and meso-scale convective systems in heavy rainfall suitably, and improving the prediction of heavy rainfall in South China in the AFRS as a result. 展开更多

Influenza viruses contribute substantially to respiratory diseases worldwide,including severe lower respiratory tract illnesses,hospitalization,and death.There are approximately a billion cases of seasonal influenza worldwide annually,including 3 to 5 million cases of severe illness and 290,000 to 650,000 respiratory deaths.[1]Vaccination remains the best available intervention to prevent morbidity and mortality caused by influenza viruses circulating in humans,especially for older people with underlying health conditions,such as asthma,diabetes,and cardiovascular diseases.Infection with influenza virus can cause the greatest morbidity and mortality effects.[2]However,the effectiveness of traditional standard-dose inactivated influenza vaccines is not satisfactory,with vaccine effectiveness ranging from 20%in years in which the vaccine is antigenically mismatched to the circulating viral strain[3]to 40%to 60%in years in which the vaccine is antigenically well matched.[4] 展开更多

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a kind of metabolic disorder characterized by excessive fat deposition in the liver and ranging from simple steatosis(simple NAFLD)to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH),cirrhosis,and hepatocellular carcinoma[1].It has recently been increasing annually;for example,it was recently estimated to have a global prevalence of 32.4%,which seriously threatens human health[2].Thus,the discovery of new therapeutic targets is of great importance because there is no specified drug for the treatment of NAFLD.On the other hand,the pathogenesis of NAFLD is complicated and still unclear.Recent studies have proposed ferroptosis as related to the disease progressions of NAFLD.Preliminary evidence indicated that ferroptosis in hepatocytes and hepatic macrophages could induce NASH and that complex regulatory mechanisms were involved.In the future,inhibition of ferroptosis may hopefully become an emerging target in treating NAFLD. 展开更多
