The independence of the plunges and azimuths of T, B, and P axes in focal mech- anism solution was discussed, and it was concluded that three parameters, i.e., the azimuths of T, B and P axes, are completely independent. The focal mechanism solution representation based on Euler rotation was introduced, using three Euler angles in place of the plunges and azi- muths of T, B, and P axes, and three focal mechanism solution representations were briefly compared and ana- lyzed in respect of accuracy on the basis of the assumption of rounding; it was concluded that the Euler angle repre- sentation has better accuracy, compared with the azimuth representation and the traditional representation with T, B, and P axes.展开更多

Thus "NTBF" (New Technology Based Firms) are increasingly developing, that are able to act both as a major player in the innovation process, and as a link between the market and the production world and that need not only venture capital to cope with the large initial investment, but also such figures that, with their leadership qualities, are able to anticipate the market development. As a result, the emergence of the knowledge society has increasingly driven companies to search for new business figures, playing both the role of financing partners and of valuable support to the entrepreneur in running a business. Such distinguishing characteristics appear to be peculiar to the figure of the business angel that, thanks to the know-how and international contacts, acts not only as a simple partner but also as a leading force within the company, who is able to simplify the decision process of the business and drive it to plan profitable investment and winning strategies. Therefore, the present work is aimed at understanding how such a figure is crucial to the development of new companies operating in emerging economies being, as well, technologically advanced, as it is the case for Estonia, which is called the "Silicon Valley of the Baltic Sea". Thus, the work will first focus on the functions, organization and the benefits resulting from the involvement of business angels and, secondly, on the reasons why this figure is preferable to other operators involved in venture capital, namely venture capitalists. Finally, the good practices implemented in Europe by the various associations of business angels will be analyzed, paying particular attention to the Italian context, in order to conside展开更多

Gilman not only creates a political vacuum, where the whole patriarchal civilization, including patriarchal system, superstructure, ideology, influence, and consciousness have ceased to exist, but also men are done away with all together. Most reviews claim that Herland criticizes the patriarchal tradition and manifests concern for humanity and some even regard Herland as the first truly feminist work in the American tradition. But this supposedly utopian world is actually static, without possibilities of growth and even inhuman, gothic, and nightmarish. And this is because Gilman constructs the women's utopia out of the conviction in women's superiority over men. Herland is a little paradise that is designed too perfect. Women's utopias still need to promote social change in the real world展开更多

It centers on an analysis of the relationship of the body/self to an "ecology of war" produced through Crumb's music that renders these selves indistinct within this musical geography. The selves that inhabit Black Angels could be that of anybody in particular since Crumb seeks to invoke in his music the primeval experience of terror that inhabits in all of us as the inheritors of mankind's violence. This sense of the universal militates against the desirable qualities of popular music that rely on the production of autonomous and singular selves that make the distinction between enemy and friend possible and distinct. We focus on Crumb's use of archaisms, his construction of time in this piece, and the author's overall purpose to invoke a time of war rather than to reflect the conditions of war, in order to delineate the contours of the universal time and space producing the undifferentiated primeval self of war. We conclude that although Crumb's rejection of the national self deprives the piece of a salient place in the popular cannon of the war, it has left an intellectual legacy on the times of the Vietnam War that deserves to be preserved.展开更多
