In this paper, the adaptability theory of Verschueren is used to analyze the subtitle translation of The Last Emperor which is a film about China directed by an Italian, Bernardo Bertolucci, from three aspects: adaptability to history, culture and audience needs. The application of adaptability theory can help translators to meet the communicative needs of the film.展开更多
