Magnetic impurities in superconductors are of increasing interest due to emergent Yu-Shiba-Rusinov(YSR)states and Majorana zero modes for fault-tolerant quantum computation.However,a direct relationship between the YS...Magnetic impurities in superconductors are of increasing interest due to emergent Yu-Shiba-Rusinov(YSR)states and Majorana zero modes for fault-tolerant quantum computation.However,a direct relationship between the YSR multiple states and magnetic anisotropy splitting of quantum impurity spins remains poorly characterized.By using scanning tunneling microscopy,we systematically resolve individual transition-metal(Fe,Cr,and Ni)impurities induced YSR multiplets as well as their Zeeman effects in the K_(3)C_(60)superconductor.The YSR multiplets show identical d orbital-like wave functions that are symmetry-mismatched to the threefold K_(3)C_(60)(111)host surface,breaking point-group symmetries of the spatial distribution of YSR bound states in real space.Remarkably,we identify an unprecedented fermion-parity-preserving quantum phase transition between ground states with opposite signs of the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy that can be manipulated by an external magnetic field.These findings can be readily understood in terms of anisotropy splitting of quantum impurity spins,and thus elucidate the intricate interplay between the magnetic anisotropy and YSR multiplets.展开更多

New rare earth vanadates YSr_(Q-x)Ca_xV_3O_(9-y)(x=0.0, 0.67, 1.0, 1.33 and 2.0) have been synthesized by a new simple method. X-ray powder diffraction results show that they are mono-phase. X-ray powder diffraction results show that they are mono-phase. They belong to orthorhombic structure and their lattice constants are calculated. The results of weight gains in TG curves show that the lower valent vanadium is oxidized to higher valent state at higher temperature. The oxygen contents of new compounds are calculated from the weight gains. Both V^(3+) and V^(4+) coexist in YSr_(2-x)Ca_xV_3O_(9-y). These compounds exhibit low electric resistivity at room temperature.展开更多

YSR-3 and amplified the D-hydantoina...Hydantoinase is involved in the production of optically pure amino acids from racemic 5-mono-substituted hydantoins. We measured the D-hydantoinase activity in marine Halomonas sp. YSR-3 and amplified the D-hydantoinase gene by PCR. The gene was inserted into vector pGM-T and transformed into E. coli TOP10. The positive transformants with the D-hydantoinase gene were sequenced. The sequenced fragment comprises 1 510 base pairs. The D-hydantoinase gene from YSR-3 is 77% similar to that from Pseudomonas entornophila L4 by searching against the NCBI databse. The protein product of the YSR-3 D-hydantoinase gene is 75%, 73%, and 70% similar to those from Pseudomonasfluorescens Pf-5, Marinornonas sp. MED121, and Burkholderia vietnamiensis G4, respectively. The difference of the D-hydantoinase gene between marine Halornonas sp. YSR-3 and other terrestrial organisms is distinct.展开更多
For a two-dimensional ultra-cold Fermi superfluid with an effective static magnetic impurity, we theoretically investigated the variation of the Yu–Shiba–Rusinov(YSR) bound state in the Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer(B...For a two-dimensional ultra-cold Fermi superfluid with an effective static magnetic impurity, we theoretically investigated the variation of the Yu–Shiba–Rusinov(YSR) bound state in the Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer(BCS) to Bose–Einstein condensation(BEC) crossover regime.Within the framework of mean-field theory, analytical results of the YSR bound state energy were obtained as a function of the interaction parameters.First, when the background Fermi superfluid system stays in the weakly interacting BCS regime, we found that the YSR bound state energy is linearly dependent on the gap parameter with its coefficient slightly different from previous results.Second, we discovered re-entrance phenomena for the YSR state and an upper bound of the strength of the interaction between the paired atoms.By carefully analyzing the bound state energy as a function of the interaction parameters, we obtained a phase diagram showing the existence of the YSR state.Finally, we concluded that the re-entrance phenomena and the critical point can be easily experimentally detected through measurement of radio-frequency spectroscopy and density of states using current experimental techniques.展开更多
