We report on using synthetic silicon for a high-precision X-ray polarimeter comprising a polarizer and an analyzer,each based on a monolithic channel-cut crystal used at multiple Brewster reflections with a Bragg angl...We report on using synthetic silicon for a high-precision X-ray polarimeter comprising a polarizer and an analyzer,each based on a monolithic channel-cut crystal used at multiple Brewster reflections with a Bragg angle very close to 45°.Experiments were performed at the BL09B bending magnet beamline of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility using a Si(800)crystal at an X-ray energy of 12.914 keV.A polarization purity of 8.4×10^(-9)was measured.This result is encouraging,as the measured polarization purity is the best-reported value for the bending magnet source.Notably,this is the firstly systematic study on the hard X-ray polarimeter in China,which is crucial for exploring new physics,such as verifying vacuum birefringence.展开更多
Water-locking flocs formed by ultrafine tailings particles will damage the thickener underflow concentration in the thickening process during paste preparation.The relationship between the mesostructure and seepage ch...Water-locking flocs formed by ultrafine tailings particles will damage the thickener underflow concentration in the thickening process during paste preparation.The relationship between the mesostructure and seepage characteristics of tail mortar is typically ignored when investigating the deep dehydration stage.A shearing seepage test of an unclassified tailing-sedimentation bed was performed with copper tailings,and the morphology and geometric distribution of micropores were analyzed via X-ray computed tomography.Moreover,the shearing evolution of the micropore structure and seepage channel was investigated to evaluate the dewatering performance of underflow slurry using a three-dimensional reconstruction approach.The results show that porosity decreases considerably under shearing.The connected-pore ratio and the average radius of the throat channel reach peak values of 0.79 and 31.38μm,respectively,when shearing is applied for 10 min.However,the reverse seepage velocity and absolute permeability in the bed decrease to various extents after shearing.Meanwhile,the maximum flow rate reaches 1.537μm/s and the absolute permeability increases by 14.16%.Shearing alters the formation process and the pore structure of the seepage channel.Isolated pores connect to the surrounding flocs to form branch channels,which then become the main seepage channel and create the dominant water-seepage flow channel.展开更多

It is assumed that two users are introduced with two antennas and two receivers. Each user employs a rate-2 space-time block code and follows certain rule when sending codewords. The multi-user interference is eliminated by pre-coding at the transmitter and linear processing at the receiver. Compared with the existing scheme for the same scene, the proposed scheme greatly reduces feedback amount and improves the transmission efficiency, while keeping the same decoding complexity. Simulations demonstrate the validity of the proposed scheme.展开更多
Through the use of the independently developed Thunderstorm Energetic Radiation Observation System(TEROS),observation experiments of rocket-triggered lightning energetic radiation(RLER)were conducted for the first tim...Through the use of the independently developed Thunderstorm Energetic Radiation Observation System(TEROS),observation experiments of rocket-triggered lightning energetic radiation(RLER)were conducted for the first time at the Field Experiment Base on Lightning Sciences,China Meteorological Administration from May 2021 to July 2021.A total of 17 X-ray bursts were detected during all of the 22 leader/return strokes.In this study,the energy,time,and direction characteristics of Xray burst and its relationships with the corresponding discharge parameters,such as the return stroke peak current,half-peak width,rise time,and interstroke time interval,as well as the associated physical processes,are analyzed and discussed.Results showed that energetic radiation is ubiquitous in triggered lightning and is closely related to the last downward leader phase before the return stroke.The photon energies were concentrated in tens to hundreds of ke V,and the average duration of RLER was approximately 27μs.Moreover,RLER exhibited directional property inconsistent with a vertical downward beam,which may be related to the development orientation of the lightning leader.The intensity of RLER was positively correlated with the return stroke peak current,indicating that it directly depends on the lightning intensity,but it would be modulated by the lightning channel conditions.The 17 RLER events showed 3 different time distribution patterns,namely,discrete,continuous,and discrete/continuous pulses,of which the discharge parameters were also different.The discrete pulse event had the longest duration,a small half-peak width,and a long interstroke time interval.Furthermore,all of these events occurred during the last several leader/return strokes.The continuous pulse event had a short duration and a small peak current.The discrete/continuous pulse event had a moderate duration and a large half-peak width and peak current.These three distinct time distribution patterns may be determined by different development types of lightning leader展开更多

The unwanted codewords are cancelled by linear operation on the received signals. Then, multi-user interference is mitigated by the orthogonal property of the Alamouti code. The interaction for channel coupling is constructed from the current-current Lagrangian related to the color confinement and the onegluon exchange potentials. By adopting the massive gluon propagator from the lattice cMculation in the nonperturbative region, the coupling interaction is further simplified to four-fermion interaction.
