Based on this parametric model, maximum likelihood, subspace based method and other super- resolution methods are introduced into the Doppler parameters estimation, and more excellent performance is obtained than with the conventional approaches in frequency domain. The theoretical derivation and real experimental results are also provided to validate this novel model and methods of parameter estimating.展开更多

In this paper, we combine subspace based blind channel estimation algorithm with the extension of the JADE WSF algorithm to jointly estimate the Angles of Arrival ( AOAs ) and delays of multipath signals arriving at an antenna array in Code Division Multiple Access ( CDMA ) systems. Our approach uses a collection of estimates of a consistent chip sample of space time vector channel. The channel estimates are assumed to have constant path AOA and delay over a finite number of symbols. Unlike the traditional MUltiple SIgnal Classification ( MUSIC ) and Estimation of Signal Parameters via Rotational Invariance Techniques ( ESPRIT ) algorithms for the estimation of signals parameters, the proposed method can work when the number of paths exceeds the number of antennas. The Cramer Rao Bound ( CRB ) and simulations are provided.展开更多

An advantage of the wavelength-shifting fiber readout technique over a direct readout with a position-sensitive photo-sensor is the reduced requirement for position sensitive photomultiplier tube photocathode area. With this gamma-ray detector, the gamma camera is small and flexible and has larger effective field of view and low cost. Simulation results show that a) a mean 12 of photons per 59.5 keV gamma ray interaction is produced in the WSF located nearest to the incident gamma ray, and a spatial resolution of 3.6 mm FWHM is obtained, b) a mean 27 of photons per 140 keV gamma ray interaction is produced and a spatial resolution of 3.1 mm FWHM is obtained. Results demonstrate the feasibility of this concept of a compact gamma-ray detector based on wavelength-shifting fibers readout. However, since the very low photoelectron levels, it is very important to use a photon counting device with good single photo-electron response to readout the WSFs.展开更多

A number of additional loads have been identified by means of tests with rolling bearings. These can be small direct currents as a result of electrostatic charge or large alternating currents from inverter-fed drives that unintentionally flow through the bearing. WEC damages can also be initiated by a pure mechanical additional load which is dependent on factors including the bearing kinematics but also on the dynamics of the drive train. The current state of knowledge on this subject is presented and taken as the basis for developing a hypothesis on the WEC damage mechanism. If load situations critical for WEC cannot be avoided, the risk of WEC can be considerably reduced by the selection of suitable materials and coatings as well as, in some cases, of suitable lubricants.展开更多

The simulation model has been setup using the GEANT4 codes. Compared with the gamma-ray detector based on the YAlO3:Ce scintillation crystal coupled to Hamamastu R2486 position sensitive photomultiplier tube, the results indicate that the gamma-ray detector based on wavelength-shifting fibers readout has good position linearity, good spatial resolution and larger effective field of view. The image and point spread function of measured point were presented. The spatial resolution response as a function of position was obtained. The factors influencing spatial resolution and position linearity were discussed.展开更多

Petroleum hydrocarbon contents in scallops and a suite of enzymes [7-Ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase(EROD), aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase(AHH), glutathione S-transferase(GST), and glutathione peroxidase(GPx)] in gills and digestive glands were monitored over 10 days. The results revealed that WSF affected the activity of the four enzymes in the gills and digestive glands. EROD activity in the gills was significantly induced in most individuals of the three test groups, while in the digestive gland it was significantly induced in the low-concentration group within 4 days but was inhibited in the middle- and high-concentration groups on days 1, 4, and 10. AHH activity in the gills of all treatment groups was significantly induced on day 1. In the digestive gland, AHH activity was induced in most individuals from the treatment groups. In all treatment groups, GST activity was significantly inhibited from days 2 to 10 in the gills and was induced after day 4 in the digestive gland. GPx activity in the gills was significantly inhibited throughout the exposure period in all treatment groups. There was no overall significant difference in GPx activity in the digestive gland between the control and treatment groups. Our results also revealed that petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in the tissues increased linearly with exposure time. EROD activity in the digestive gland and GST and GPx activity in the gill tissue were negatively correlated with petroleum hydrocarbon body burden. These enzymes play important roles in detoxification and can act as potential biomarkers for monitoring petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants in the marine environment.展开更多

Simulation results show that the proposed hybrid algorithm greatly reduces the computational complexity with the performance close to that of FFT-QSPA.展开更多
