Based on those biostratigraphically wel... The Lungmachi Formation is widely distributed in Guizhou, Chongqing and the adjacent area. It is important for the study of Silurian biostratigraphy and shale-gas investigation. Based on those biostratigraphically well-studied sections from Guiyang to Huayingshan, we reveal the stage-progressive distribution pattern of the Lungmachi black shales. The distribution of the Lungmachi black shales in the studying area can be subdivided into four geographic belts from the south to the north,reflecting the joint effect of regional and global environmental changes. The graptolite depth zonation model was adopted herein to infer the water depth of major graptolite assemblages from the black shales. The changes in the water depth indicate two major stages. The first stage is named the transgressive distribution stage which ranged from the Persculptograptus persculptus Biozone(LM1, upper Hirnantian) to the Coronograptus cyphus Biozone(LM5, upper Rhuddanian), an interval mostly controlled by global sea-level rise. The second stage, ranging from the Demirastrites triangulatus Biozone(LM6, lower Aeronian) to the Spirograptus guerichi Biozone(LM9, lower Telychian), is named the regressive shrinking stage, during which the black shales were gradually replaced by mixed-facies or carbonate sediments from the south to the north, representing the effects of the persistent uplifting of the Central Guizhou Oldland. 展开更多

A preliminary study on sediment flux in the Changjiang Delta during the postglacial period 被引量:6

The sequence boundary and maximum flooding surface of the postglacial transgressive cycle in the Changjiang Delta have been identified by 265 cores. Based on these data, the sediment amounts and the thickness-isopach maps of postglacial sedimentary cycle, transgressive and regressive successions in the Changjiang Delta have been worked out. The results show that the sediment amounts of the postglacial cycle, transgressive succession and regressive succession are 17742.2×108 tons, 9791.9×108 tons and 7950.3×108 tons, respectively. The postglacial sediments deposited in the incised valley are more than those in the two flanks, and the sediments contained in the transgressive succession are more than those in the regressive succession. The postglacial sediments deposited in the southern flank are more than those in the northern flank, and the sediments in the area seaward from the postglacial transgression maximum (PTM) of each flank are more than those in the area landward from the PTM. Considering both the possible changes of the ratio between the sediment amount remained in the modern Changjiang Delta and the sediment discharge of the Changjiang River in the postglacial period, and the changes of the sediment discharge, the authors believe that in the postglacial period, the sediment discharge of the Changjiang River is (2.36—4.86)×108 tons/a on average, totaling to (35400—70800)×108 tons, and the sediments delivered to sea and adjacent coasts are (1.18—3.54)×108 tons/a on average, totaling to (17700—53100)×108 tons. 展开更多

The Global Stratotype Section and Point(GSSP) for the Permian-Triassic boundary was placed in Bed 27 of Meishan section D where the conodont species Hindeodus parvus first occurs.Bed 27 was usually considered comprising continuouslydeposited,homogeneous silty limestone,with no depositional hiatus near the boundary.Detailed study on the boundary sequence revealed that a typical firmground characterized by Glossifungites ichnofacies developed about 2 cm below the Permian-Triassic boundary in Bed 27.Fossil content and lithology show apparent differences across the firmground crust.The abundance of the Permian bioclasts decreases significantly across the firmground,and is accompanied by a shift of dominating carbonate precipitation from calcite to dolomite.The firmground marked a rapid transgression at the very end of the Late Permian and significant shifts of sedimentary environment and paleoclimate.This transgressive submerging surface is also observed at the Huangzhishan section of the shallow-water carbonate platform facies in Zhejiang Province,the Jiangya section of the lower-slope to basinal-margin facies in Hunan Province,the Pingdingshan section of the basinal facies in Anhui Province of South China,as well as the Selong section in Tibet of the northern peri-Gondwana.The transgressive submerging surface marks the onset of a rapid global transgression at the latest Permian. 展开更多

The closely related Black-headed Bunting(Emberiza melanocephala,a western Palearctic lineage)and Red-headed Bunting(Emberiza bruniceps,an eastern Palearctic lineage)hybridize and replace each other south of the Caspian Sea.The parental species have distinct phenotypes and therefore morphology is useful for assessing hybridization in the contact zone.In the years of 1940 and 1977,quite a few hybrids were collected and studied morphologically.Since then,the hybrid zone appears to have expanded westwards,but there has been a time gap in the collection of morphological data.Here we reanalyze bunting specimens morphologically and compare the historical data with recent data.Morphometric and phenotypic traits from three time periods(1940,1977 and recent)were studied to assess phenotypic variation of hybrids,pattern of hybridization,and transgressive traits in the hybrid zone.Our results show that most of the birds in the hybrid zone exhibit intermediate phenotypes(both colors and morphometric characters),ranging from the pure phenotype of either of the parental species.However,hybridization has also produced novel phenotypes not seen in any of the parents.Using a canonical discriminant function analysis,the morphometric characters separated each parental species and the hybrids quite well.Our results showed morphometric intermediacy of hybrids in accordance with phenotypes.We observe a time trend in which recent hybrids are more similar to Red-headed Buntings phenotypically compared to historical samples.This pattern is likely a signature of a westward expansion of the Red-headed Bunting into the breeding range of the Black-headed Bunting. 展开更多

Analysis of the four cases of the sequence boundary (SB)-transgressive surface (TS) relation in nature shows that applying transgressive surfaces as sequence boundaries has the following merits: it improves the methodology of stratigraphic subdivision; the position of transgressive surface in a sea level curve is relatively fixed; the transgressive surface is a transforming surface of the stratal structure; in platforms or ramps, the transgressive surface is the only choice for determining the sequence boundary; the transgressive surface is a readily recognized physical surface reflected by seismic records in seismostratigraphy. The paper reaches a conclusion that to delineate a SB in terms of the TS is theoretically and practically better than to delineate it between highstand and lowstand sediments as has been done traditionally. 展开更多

The sea level changes in the Paleozoic epicontinental basin were of high frequency and the transgressive events were episodic.This kind of sea level changes controlled both the basin filling and the coal accumulation within the basin.Coal accumulation in the transgressive process is one of the typical features of the North China epicontinental basin.High resolution sequence analysis to the Permo carboniferous coal series based on the core observation indicates that the epicontintental coal bearing succession can be divided into 1 tectonic sequence (the original type of basin filling), 3 supersequences, 12 third order sequences and about 48 parasequences.The third order sequences are of dual configuration sequences that are composed of transgressive systems tract in the lower part and highstand systems tract in the upper part.The transgressive systems tracts are relatively thin in thickness and have fewer parasequences (commonly 1 to 2), while the highstand systems tracts are thick, generally consist of several parasequences. 展开更多

Recombinants for Enhanced Productivity and Drought Tolerance in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)

In an attempt to enhance productivity as well as drought tolerance of barley cultivar, a 5 × 5 diallel cross involving rainfed cultivars was made. Of the 10 crosses, cross K603 x K560 was most promising as it yielded highest number of recombinants (21 in irrigated and 36 in rainfed conditions); the cultivar K506 was considered as drought resistant (drought susceptibility index 〈 1). A total of 22 out of 64 and 18 out of 59 most promising F2 recombinants in irrigated and rainfed conditions, respectively from 6 crosses were evaluated for yield, harvest index as well as proline content. All the recombinants selected under rainfed condition (including a few from irrigated condition) showed enhanced level of proline content coupled with high grain yield and harvest index. Further, a total of twenty-nine segregants (12 rainfed and 17 irrigated derived cultures) showing significantly higher values of proline content and grain yield were grown during 2007-2008 under both the environments, rainfed and irrigated to determine the geometric mean (GM) and drought susceptibility index (S). The segregants (Culture No. 8, 10 & 13) derived from cross K 603 × K 560 and culture No. 5 from K 560 × RD 2508 gave maximum mean yield under rainfed and geometric mean coupled with lower drought susceptibility index (S). Also, it has been observed that the transgressive segregants selected from limited water environment (rainfed) performed better than those selected from irrigated environment for higher grain yield and drought tolerance. 展开更多

通过以露头、测井曲线和岩芯观察为基础的高分辨层序地层分析,认为华北石炭、二叠系为1个大层序,时限约为310~250Ma。以早二叠世紫松期与隆林期之交的285Ma的区域性不整合面为界,分为Ms1、Ms2两个中层序。Ms1穿过了石炭、二叠系的... 通过以露头、测井曲线和岩芯观察为基础的高分辨层序地层分析,认为华北石炭、二叠系为1个大层序,时限约为310~250Ma。以早二叠世紫松期与隆林期之交的285Ma的区域性不整合面为界,分为Ms1、Ms2两个中层序。Ms1穿过了石炭、二叠系的年代地层界线(295Ma)。含煤的本溪、太原、山西组(308~275Ma)分为6个层序组(Ss1-6),包括19个层序(CSq17,PSq1-12)。通过区域性层序地层单位的对比,在生物年代地层格架的基础上,建立了更精细的等时地层格架。晚石炭世沉积仅分布在华北中部及北部,南华北缺失CSq1-7,豫西还缺失PSq1-3。层序之间的不整合面、岩石地层单位和主要煤层在大区域内都是穿时的。晚石炭世海水自东向西侵入华北北部,向西和向南超覆;紫松或海水自晋西南和苏皖北部向北入侵,为华北晚古生代的最大海侵;隆林晚期海侵较隆林早期海侵略大。太原组的主煤层在山西自南向北形成于紫松早期海平面缓慢上升过程中,内蒙古南部山西组的巨厚煤层形成于最大海侵时期,山西省山西组的主煤层自北向南形成于隆林早期,晋东南至南华北山西组的主煤层形成于栖霞早期。通过三交、柳林矿区煤相分析表明海侵体系域底部的煤层比高位体系域的煤层更富生烃潜力,是一种新的成煤模式。 展开更多

通过录井、测井、地震、野外剖面与岩心资料的深入剖析,探讨中上扬子地区下志留统页岩段的沉积相与总有机碳的关系,预测页岩气有利勘探区。中上扬子地区下志留统龙马溪组为一套20~268m厚的黑色页岩夹灰绿色泥质粉砂岩沉积,在等时框架... 通过录井、测井、地震、野外剖面与岩心资料的深入剖析,探讨中上扬子地区下志留统页岩段的沉积相与总有机碳的关系,预测页岩气有利勘探区。中上扬子地区下志留统龙马溪组为一套20~268m厚的黑色页岩夹灰绿色泥质粉砂岩沉积,在等时框架内自下而上可识别出2个三级层序即SQ1与SQ2,它们分布稳定、可对比性好。下部层序(SQ1)的海侵体系域(TST)发育一套有利于页岩气形成的富有机质页岩,此时期呈现出"北面向次深海敞开、东西南三面受古陆围限、陆棚广布"的沉积格局,深水陆棚相广泛发育,面积为255 000 km2,平均厚度35 m。受海平面下降的影响,从下部层序至上部层序水体变浅,岩相从深水陆棚相黑色页岩向中—浅水陆棚相沙纹层理粉砂质页岩转变。岩相的发育受海平面升降、古陆、海底地形、物源供给等因素的影响,岩相类型有碳质或硅质或钙质页岩、纹层状页岩、生物扰动粉砂质页岩、沙纹层理的粉砂质页岩、块状砂岩或介壳灰岩薄夹层5类。研究表明,沉积相对富有机质页岩的形成具有内在的控制作用,高TOC含量页岩发育于深水陆棚相、中陆棚相和潟湖相中。目前,已有多口井在龙马溪组页岩获得工业气流,揭示了该区良好的页岩气勘探前景;综合分析认为涪陵—赤水—仁怀、威远—长宁、鄂西—渝东为中上扬子地区下志留统页岩气勘探的主要方向和有利目标区。 展开更多

陆相断陷湖盆的沉降机理、湖盆形态等均有别于其它类型的沉积盆地,因此,沉积层序的内部构成及层序边界发育特征也不同。在这种湖盆中,不适合于直接套用“Vail学派”的被动大陆边缘型盆地的层序地层学模式,但其基本原理仍可应用。以... 陆相断陷湖盆的沉降机理、湖盆形态等均有别于其它类型的沉积盆地,因此,沉积层序的内部构成及层序边界发育特征也不同。在这种湖盆中,不适合于直接套用“Vail学派”的被动大陆边缘型盆地的层序地层学模式,但其基本原理仍可应用。以东濮断陷盆地为例,分析了盆内构造-沉积旋回之内的湖进-湖退(T-R)旋回沉积层序,这种层序由湖进体系域(LTS)与湖退体系域(LRST)组成。LRST中发育有各种不同类型的储集砂体。由于断陷湖盆的边缘坡度陡峭,以及湖平面升降幅度有限,因此,叠加于构造-沉积族目之上的更高频T-R旋回层序缺乏I型层序边界,控制T-R旋回发育的主要因素是区内构造(断层)的幕式活动,而更高频的T-R旋回的形成则与米兰柯维奇气候旋回相关联。 展开更多
