The tilting inertia moment on the cylinder block produced by the inertia forces of piston/slipper assemblies cannot be ignored when analyzing the cylinder block balance. A large tilting inertia moment will make the cylinder block tilt away from the valve plate, resulting in severe wear and significantly increased leakage. This paper presents an analytical expression for the tilting inertia moment on the cylinder block by means of vector analysis. In addition, a high-speed test rig was built up, and experiments on an EHA pump prototype were carried out at high speeds of up to 10,000 r/min. The predicted nature of the cylinder block tilt at high speeds corresponds closely to the witness marks on the dismantled EHA pump prototype, It is suggested that more attention should be given to the tilting inertia moment acting on the cylinder block of an EHA pump since both wear and leakage flow between the cylinder block and the valve plate are very much dependent on this tilting moment.展开更多
Titanium alloys are widely used in the aviation and aerospace industries due to their unique mechanical and physical properties.Specifically,thin-walled titanium(Ti)cylinders have received increasing attention for the...Titanium alloys are widely used in the aviation and aerospace industries due to their unique mechanical and physical properties.Specifically,thin-walled titanium(Ti)cylinders have received increasing attention for their applications as rocket engine casings,aircraft landing gear,and aero-engine hollow shaft due to their observed improvement in the thrust-to-weight ratio.However,the conventional cutting(CC)process is not appropriate for thin-walled Ti cylinders due to its low thermal conductivity,high strength,and low stiffness.Instead,high-speed ultrasonic vibration cutting(HUVC)assisted processing has recently proved highly effective for Ti-alloy machining.In this study,HUVC technology is employed to perform external turning of a thinwalled Ti cylinder,which represents a new application of HUVC.First,the kinematics,tool path,and dynamic cutting thickness of HUVC are evaluated.Second,the phenomenon of mode-coupling chatter is analyzed to determine the effects and mechanism of HUVC by establishing a critical cutting thickness model.HUVC can increase the critical cutting thickness and effectively reduce the average cutting force,thus reducing the energy intake of the system.Finally,comparison experiments are conducted between HUVC and CC processes.The results indicate that the diameter error rate is 10%or less for HUVC and 51%for the CC method due to a 40%reduction in the cutting force.In addition,higher machining precision and better surface roughness are achieved during thin-walled Ti cylinder manufacturing using HUVC.展开更多
High speed power chucks are important function units in high speed turning.The gripping force loss is the primary factor limiting the rotational speed of high-speed power chucks.This paper proposes a piecewise model c...High speed power chucks are important function units in high speed turning.The gripping force loss is the primary factor limiting the rotational speed of high-speed power chucks.This paper proposes a piecewise model considering the difference of wedge transmission's radial deformation between low-speed stage and medium-to-high-speed stage,the friction forces of chuck transmission,and the compressibility of hydraulic oil in rotary hydraulic cylinders.A corrected model of gripping force loss is also established for power chucks with asymmetric stiffness.The model is verified by experiment results.It is helpful to use the piecewise model to explain the experimental phenomenon that the overall loss coefficient of gripping force increases with the rotational speed increasing at medium and high speed stages.Besides,the loss coefficients of gripping force at each stage during speeding up and the critical rotational speed between two adjacent stages are discussed.For wedge power chucks with small wedge angel(α<20°) and ordinary lubrication(μ0>0.06),the local loss coefficient of gripping force at the low speed stage is about 70% of that at the medium to high speed stage.For wedge power chucks with larger wedge angel(α>20°) or low friction coefficient(μ0<0.06),the wedge transmissions cannot self-lock at high speed stage,and the gripping force loss at the high speed stage is related to the hydraulic lock and hydraulic oil in the rotary hydraulic cylinder;the local loss coefficients of gripping force at the third stage is about 1.75 to 2.13 times that at the second stage.This work is helpful to understand the mechanism of the gripping force loss thoroughly and to optimize power chucks.展开更多
A test system was designed to study the parameters affecting the volumetric efficiency of a thick-material pump for coal slime.The parameters studied included solid concentration,the slenderness ratio of the suction c...A test system was designed to study the parameters affecting the volumetric efficiency of a thick-material pump for coal slime.The parameters studied included solid concentration,the slenderness ratio of the suction cylinder and the running speed of the hydraulic cylinder.In the experiment the concentrations of coal slime were 75.7%,76.3%,74.4%,73.5%,72.1%and 70.63%;the running speeds were 0.23,0.18,0.13,0.10 and 0.08 m/s;and the slenderness ratios of the suction cylinder were 1.63,2.26,2.88,3.50,4.13,4.78 and 5.38.The results show that the suction volumetric efficiency decreases gradually with an increase in material concentration.The critical concentration value is 72%;below 72%the suction volumetric efficiency is above 90%,otherwise it decreases rapidly.When the solid concentration reaches 76.3%,the suction volumetric efficiency is only 40%.When the running speed of the piston is less than or equal to 0.23 m/s,the suction volumetric efficiency increases with an increase in running speed.展开更多

Injection molding machine,hydraulic elevator,speed actuators belong to variable speed pump control cylinder system.Because variable speed pump control cylinder system is a nonlinear hydraulic system,it has some proble...Injection molding machine,hydraulic elevator,speed actuators belong to variable speed pump control cylinder system.Because variable speed pump control cylinder system is a nonlinear hydraulic system,it has some problems such as response lag and poor steady-state accuracy.To solve these problems,for the hydraulic cylinder of injection molding machine driven by the servo motor,a fractional order proportion-integration-diferentiation(FOPID)control strategy is proposed to realize the speed tracking control.Combined with the adaptive differential evolution algorithm,FOPID control strategy is used to determine the parameters of controller on line based on the test on the servo-motor-driven gear-pump-controlled hydraulic cylinder injection molding machine.Then the slef-adaptive differential evolution fractional order PID controller(SADE-FOPID)model of variable speed pump-controlled hydraulic cylinder is established in the test system with simulated loading.The simulation results show that compared with the classical PID control,the FOPID has better steady-state accuracy and fast response when the control parameters are optimized by the adaptive differential evolution algorithm.Experimental results show that SADE-FOPID control strategy is effective and feasible,and has good anti-load disturbance performance.展开更多
