It Is important to design an efficient index mechanism for accessing the spatio-temporal data efficiently. The paper analyzes the features of the spatio-temporal objects, studies the methods of spatio-temporal index mechanisms, classifies the index mechanisms, and discusses the key technologies of spatio-temporal indexes.
