Furthermore, it puts forward principles which lay emphasis on the balancing of three yardsticks-rhyming(optional), comprehensibility and loyalty. The first one can add elegance for lyrics translation. The last two requires mediation of intentions among the source writer and the target listener in a particular translational action. The principles are then applied to the evaluation of lyrics translation of two English songs of Viva La Vida and Set Love Free. The conclusion is thus reached that these principles can be used to make lyrics translation.展开更多
