Quantum decoherence theory points out that the inevitable interaction with environment is a sink carrying away quantum coherence, which is responsible for the suppression of quantum superposition in open quantum system.Recently, quantum Darwinism theory further extends the role of environment, serving as communication channel, to explain the classical objectivity emerging in quantum measurement process. Here, we used a six-photon quantum simulator to investigate classical and quantum information proliferation in quantum Darwinism process. In the simulation, many environmental photons are scattered from an observed quantum system and they are collected and used to infer the system's state. We observed redundancy of system's classical information and suppression of quantum correlation in the fragments of environmental photons. Our results experimentally show that the classical objectivity of quantum system can be established through quantum Darwinism mechanism.展开更多

We can also identify the state for which discord takes a maximal value for a given decoherence factor, and present a strong bound on quantum entanglement-quantum discord. In contrast, a striking result will be obtained that the quantum discord is not always stronger than the entanglement of formation in the case of decoherence. Furthermore, we also theoretically study the variation trend of the monogamy of quantum correlations for the three-particle W-class state under the phase flip channel, and find that the three-particle W-class state could transform from polygamous into monogamous, owing to the decoherence.展开更多

A sudden change of coherence is found near the critical point, which provides us with an effective way to detect the quantum phase transition. By studying the relationship between quantum discord and coherence, we find that coherence displays the behavior of classical correlation for t 〈 t0, and of quantum discord for t 〉 t0, where t0 is the time-point of a sudden transition between classical and quantum decoherence.展开更多

It is found that...The conservation issues of pairwise quantum discord and entanglement of two qubits coupled to a two-mode vacuum cavity are investigated by considering the dipole^tipole interaction between two qubits. It is found that the sum of the square of the pairwise quantum discords and the sum of the square of the pairwise concurrences are both conserved in the strong dipole-dipole interaction limit. However, in the middle dipole-dipole and weak dipole-dipole interaction limits, the sum of the square of the pairwise concurrences is still conserved while the sum of the square of the pairwise discords is not. The crucial reason for this is that the quantum discords are not equivalent if the measurements are performed on different subsystems in a general situation. So it is very important for quantum computation depending on the quantum discord to select the target performed by the measurements.展开更多

Considering certain classes of initial separable-mixed states, we demonstrate that the sudden birth of atomic entanglement as well as the generation of stationary quantum correlations occur. Our results also suggest a possible way to control the occurrence time of entanglement sudden birth and the stationary value of quantum correlations by modifying the initial conditions of states, the dipole-dipole interaction, and the relative coupling strength. These results are helpful for the experimental engineering of entanglement and quantum correlations.展开更多

The influence of the temperature on the three quantum correlations and entanglement of the systems is also analyzed numerically. It is found that novel quantum correlation switches called QD, GMQD, and MID respectively can be constructed with the qubits consisting of electric dipoles coupled by the dipole-dipole interaction and oriented along or against the external electric field. Moreover, with the increase of temperature, QD, GMQD, and MID are more robust than entanglement against the thermal environment. It is also found that for each dipole pair of the three- and four-dipole arrangements, the MID is always the largest and the GMQD the smallest.展开更多

Firstly, we show that both the concurrence and QD exhibit oscillation with time whereas a remarkable difference between them is presented: there is an "entanglement intermittently sudden death" phenomenon in the concurrence but not in the QD, which is valid for all the initial states of this system. Also, the interval time of entanglement sudden death is found to be strongly dependent on the initial states, the inhomogeneous magnetic field b and the anisotropic parameter △. Then, it implies that the steady concurrence and QD can be obtained in the long-time limit, which means that the environmental decoherence cannot entirely destroy the quantum correlation, the variation of the uniform magnetic field B and the anisotropic parameter can change the magnitude of the steady concurrence and QD evidently whereas the parameter b cannot. In addition, based on the analysis of the steady concurrence and QD with t →∞, we give the reason why the magnitude of the steady concurrence and QD is so complicated with the change of the parameters B and .4, whereas the parameter b is independent of the steady concurrence and QD.展开更多
