The administration of magnesium led to a significant reduction in the requirements of anaesthetic drugs (such as non-depolarizing neuromuscular blockers, opioids and propofol) during general anesthesia, but increased anesthetic drugs’ efficiency. The mechanism of magnesium on clinical anesthesia included: magnesium works as a physiological antagonist of calcium, also as an antagonist of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors in nerve system and muscular system, and magnesium also inhibits neural transmitters’ release from synapsesl.展开更多
