The practical application of Li-S batteries is severely restricted by limited cycle life and low sulfur loading.Here,a common industrial paint,methylated amino resin(MAR),was employed as a novel multifunctional binder...The practical application of Li-S batteries is severely restricted by limited cycle life and low sulfur loading.Here,a common industrial paint,methylated amino resin(MAR),was employed as a novel multifunctional binder to address these issues.The S cathodes by using MAR binder(S@MAR) demonstrate an excellent reversible capacity of 480.9 mA·h·g^(-1) after 400 cycles at a rate of 0.5 C,and the sulfur loading in the electrode could achieve as high as 3.0 mg·cm^(-2).These achievements are ascribed to the superior mechanical property for volume expansion,better adsorption ability toward poly sulfides,and more favorable Li+transportation of MAR,compared to the conventional binders of polyvinylidene difluoride and carboxymethylcellulose.This study paves a new way for obtaining high-energy-density Li-S batteries by the simple application of multifunctional binder that are inherently cost-effective.展开更多

Although MOF precursors withdiverse compositions and morphologies have been extensively investigated, anionic MOFs are rarelyexplored for this utility. In addition to the metal sites and ligands on the MOF framework, the guestcounter-cations in the void provide supplementary parameters to tune the capability of microwaveabsorption. Herein, we applied an anionic NixCoy-MOF featuring N-rich ligands and hierarchical porousstructures as a precursor for microwave absorption. The obtained dielectric-magnetic Ni_(x)Co_(y)@NPCcomposites with rich N dopants and multiple hetero-interfaces promote the microwave attenuationcapability through enhanced dipole/interfacial relaxation. The synergistic effects of magnetic loss andconduction loss induced by metallic nanoparticles (NPs) and porous graphitic layers further facilitate themicrowave dissipation. More significantly, impedance matching can be effectively improved by tuningthe Co/Ni amount in the precursors to realize the modulation of electromagnetic parameters. Conse-quently, Ni@NPC exhibits the optimal electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption with minimum reflectionloss of 66 dB at only 2 mm and broad effective absorption band covering 4.56 GHz at a thin thickness of2.07 mm, making this material promising absorber for EMW elimination.展开更多
The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of dietary replacement of commonly used vegetable oil(sunflower oil, SFO) with n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA) rich oil sources on broiler chicken perfo...The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of dietary replacement of commonly used vegetable oil(sunflower oil, SFO) with n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA) rich oil sources on broiler chicken performance, carcass yield, meat fatty acid composition, keeping quality and sensory attributes of meat. In the current experiment, 300 day-old Krishibro broiler chicks were randomly distributed to 5 dietary groups(50 replicates with 6 chicks in each) prepared by replacing SFO(2% and 3% of diet during starter and finisher periods, respectively) with n-3 PUFA rich soybean oil(SO), mustard oil(MO), linseed oil(LO) or fish oil(FO) on weight basis. Variation in oil sources had no influence(P > 0.05) on performance and carcass yield. Supplementation of MO, LO or FO significantly(P < 0.01) increased the n-3 PUFA, lowered the n-6 PUFA deposition and n-6:n-3 ratio in breast and thigh without affecting the organoleptic characters(appearance, flavour, juiciness, tenderness and overall acceptability) of meat.However, thiobarbituric acid reacting substances concentration in meat was increased(P < 0.01) with LO and FO supplementation compared with SFO. It is concluded that, dietary incorporation of MO, LO or FO at 2% and 3% levels during starter and finisher phase can enrich broiler chicken meat with n-3 PUFA without affecting the bird's performance and sensory characters of meat.展开更多
