Herein, we fabricated a FAPbBr_3 microcrystal-based photodetector that exhibited a good responsivity of 4000 A W-1 and external quantum efficiency up to 106% under one-photon excitation, corresponding to the detectivity greater than 1014 Jones. The responsivity is two orders of magnitude higher than that of previously reported formamidinium perovskite photodetectors. Furthermore, the FAPbBr_3 photodetector's responsivity to two-photon absorption with an 800-nm excitation source can reach 0.07 A W^(-1), which is four orders of magnitude higher than that of its MAPbBr_3 counterparts. The response time of this photodetector is less than 1 ms.This study provides solid evidence that FAPbBr_3 can be an excellent candidate for highly sensitive and fast photodetectors.展开更多

Focus is made on the dominant band of “super-hot” emission appearing in the spectral region located in energy above the fundamental absorption edge of a CdTe bulk crystal. A theoretical model has been developed that assumes the existence of a space-charge layer inside a microcrystal, which leads to the formation of a triangular potential well for an electron near the surface. The anomalous emission band arises as a result of the optical transitions of electrons from near-surface levels of spatial quantization to valence band states.展开更多

Pt nanoparticles(NPs) of different contents(0.5 wt%,1 wt% and 2 wt%) were subsequently deposited on the PbW O4 microcrystals, producing robust Pt/PbW O4 composite microcrystals. The PbW O4 microcrystals and Pt/PbW O4 photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction,N2 sorption measurements, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron,photoluminescence,Fourier-transform infrared, and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopies. The photocatalytic performances of the catalysts were evaluated by the consecutive photocatalytic degradation of acid orange II dye. The Pt/PbW O4 composite microcrystals exhibited high photocatalytic activity and stability. The deposition of Pt NPs produced surface plasmon resonance(SPR),which induced a large visible light absorption. A Pt NP content of 1-2 wt% resulted in an ~2 times increase in photocatalytic activity, compared with the activity of Pt/PbW O4. The crystal structure and high crystallinity of PbW O4 resulted in its favorable photocatalytic property, and the SPR effect of the Pt NPs promoted visible light harvesting. The Pt NPs also enhanced the separation of photo-generated electrons and holes, which further promoted the photocatalytic reaction.展开更多

Phase identification of LaF3: Yb^3+ , Er^+ and LaF3: Yb^3+ , Er^+/SiO2 was performed via XRD. The TEM image showed that the size of LaF3: Yb^3+ , Er^+ was 150 nm and LaF3: Yb^3+ , Er^+/SiO2 presented clearly a core/shell structure with 20 nm shell thickness. The upconversion spectra of LaF3: Yb^3+ , Er^+ and LaF3: Yb^3+ , Er^+/SiO2 in solid state and in ethanol were studied with a 980 nm diode laser as the excitation source. The upconversion spectra showed that the silica shell had little effect on the properties of fluorescence of the LaF3:Yb^3+ , Er^+ microcrystals. At the same time, the green luminescence photo of LaF3: Yb3+, Er3+/SiO2 in the PBS buffer was obtained, which indicated that the LaF3: Yb^3+ , Er^+/SiO2 could be used in biological applications.展开更多

And the uniform morphology of octahedral micro- crystals was obtained in the presence of ethylene glycol. The morphology and structure of products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results showed that the Fe3O4 walnut spherical particles and octahedral microcrystals were single crystals with the face-center cubic structure and with size distributions from 2.2 to 8.6 μm and 1.6 to 12.5 μm, respectively. Their magnetic properties were detected by a vibrating sample magnetometer at room temperature. The walnut spherical parti- cles exhibited a ferromagnetic behavior with the coercive force (Hc), saturation magnetization (Ms) and remanent magnetization (Mr) being 150.57 Oe, 97.634 and 12.05 emu/g, respectively. The microstructures of coal-based carbon materials have an important influence on their functional applications. Herein, the microstructural evolution of anthracite in the temperature range of 1000–2800 ℃ was systematically investigated to provide a guidance for the microstructural regulation of coal-based carbon materials. The results indicate that the microstructure of anthracite undergoes an important change during carbonization-graphitization process. As the temperature increases, aromatic layers in anthracite gradually transform into disordered graphite microcrystals and further grow into ordered graphite microcrystals, and then ordered graphite microcrystals are laterally linked to form pseudo-graphite phase and eventually transformed into highly ordered graphite-like sheets. In particular, 2000–2200 ℃ is a critical temperature region for the qualitative change of ordered graphite crystallites to pseudo-graphite phase,in which the relevant structural parameters including stacking height, crystallite lateral size and graphitization degree show a rapid increase. Moreover, both aromaticity and graphitization degree have a linear positive correlation with carbonization-graphitization temperature in a specific temperature range.Besides, after initial carbonization, some defect structures in anthracite such as aliphatic carbon and oxygen-containing functional groups are released in the form of gaseous low-molecular volatiles along with an increased pore structure, and the intermediates derived from minerals could facilitate the conversion of sp^(3) amorphous carbon to sp^(2) graphitic carbon. This work provides a valuable reference for the rational design of microstructure of coal-based carbon materials.展开更多

Compared with the absorption spectrum of perylene acetone solution, a new J aggregate absorption peak appeared in the absorption spectra of nanocrystals. With the decrease of perylene nanocrystals size, it shows a blue shift in the absorption spectra. This blue shift is due to the size dependent property. The perylene concentration of initial acetone solution or the amount of solution injected into water, the aging time of organic nanocrystal dispersion and the adding of surfactant were the influencing factors of nanocrystal growth. We can gain the required microcrystals of different sizes by controlling the conditions of growth.展开更多

Moreover, microcrystals are sensitive to radiation damage; thus, typically, a complete data set cannot be obtained with a single microcrystal. Herein, we report a new method for data collection with multiple microcrystals having a crystal size ranging from 1 to 30 lm. This method is suitable for not only low-temperature(100 K) data collection but also room-temperature data collection. Thin Kapton membranes were used to capture multiple crystals simultaneously. The microcrystals were visible under an optical microscope and easily located because the membrane was transparent and sufficiently thin. The film was fixed to a bracket that was prepared using a three-dimensional printer. The bracket was fixed on a magnetic base via screwing and employed by the goniometer system for data collection. Multiple data sets of fatty acid-binding protein 4(FABP4) and lysozyme microcrystals were collected using this novel designed device. Finally, the structures of protein FABP4 and lysozyme were obtained from these data via the molecule replacement method. The data statistics reveal that this method provides a comparable result to traditional methods such as a nylon loop.展开更多

When the number of additive phases increases, the sintering temperature and wear rate decrease, while the densification and mechanical properties increase. The additive SiO2 is responsible for the development of equiaxed grains, whereas both CaO and MgO promote the development of platelike grains. By controlling the molar ratio of additives, it is pos- sible to obtain different microstructures. With SiO2-MgO-CaO (molar ratio, 2:1:1) as the additives and nano a-Al203 powders as the seed, microcrystalline corundum abrasives with hexagonal platelets were obtained using sol-gel process by sintering at 1300℃ for 0.5 h. The average diameter and thickness of hexagonal platelets are 1.38 μm and 360 nm respectively, the sin- gle-particle compressive strength is 26.44 N, and the wear rate is (3.06±=0.21)× 10^-7 mm^3/(N.m).展开更多

The data statistics reveal that this method provides a comparable result to traditional methods such as a nylon loop.
文摘The effects of different additives on the mechanical properties, microstructures, and wear behavior of corundum abra- sives were investigated. The average diameter and thickness of hexagonal platelets are 1.38 μm and 360 nm respectively, the sin- gle-particle compressive strength is 26.44 N, and the wear rate is (3.06±=0.21)× 10^-7 mm^3/(N.m).

文摘Hexagonal yttrium hydroxide fluoride microcrystals were prepared by a two-step hydrothermal routte using yttrium nitrate, sodium hydroxide and sodium fluoride as raw materials to react in propanetriol solvent. The samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectrum (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier trans- form infrared spectroscopy (FT-1R), thermogravimetre and differential-thermogravimetric analysis (TG-DTA), which revealed that Y(OH)2.14F0.86 microerystals were multi-branched and that the branches of Y(OH)2A4F0.86 microcrystals were composed of hierarchical tubes. This novel multi-branched and intriguing hierarchical tubular structure of yttrium hydroxide fluoride maybe has a potential application in photoelectric crystals. The formation of branched Y(OH)2.14F0.86 microcrystals with hierarchical tubular structure were due to the substitution reaction and Oswald ripening.
文摘To investigate the impact of particle size on in vitro/vivo performance of praziquantel(PZQ), nanocrystals(NCs) and microcrystals(MCs) of PZQ were prepared using the methods of wet milling and jet milling, respectively. PZQ NCs and MCs were characterized with dynamic light scattering, laser particle size analyzer, transmission electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray powder diffraction and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The average diameters of PZQ NCs and MCs were 364.4 nm and 3.7 μm, respectively. No change in crystalline form was observed. Dissolution tests were performed in two different media, where the cumulative dissolution and dissolution rate of NCs were significantly improved in comparison with those of MCs and KANGQING~? in non-sink condition. Similarly, oral bioavailability of PZQ NCs in beagle dogs was 1.68( P < 0.05) and 1.83 fold( P < 0.01) higher than that of MCs and KANGQING~? . Considering the advantages of in vitro/vivo performance and facile preparation, PZQ NCs may have a great application in the treatment of schistosomiasis.
