Utilization of Micro Hydro Power Plant at the Gunung Halu case study type run-off the river is a household use only in the afternoon,around 5 pm until bedtime at about 10 pm.Therefore,more than 75%of the energy is lost.This case study lost power which can be used as a by-product,such as for drying coffee beans.In this case study,a design was carried out to obtain by-products and improve power quality in the electrical system.In addition,they complain about the poor quality of power controlled by frequency using Triac-Based Electronic Dummy Load Control.The heat from the dummy load in the case study is used as a by-product.MHP with a minimum power of 20 kW,and the usage time of customer service is about 6 h.The energy for the by-products is about 360 kWh/day,and the power quality improved by using Triac-Based Electronic Load Control and Hysteresis Current Control for the active filter.As a result,the power factor is close to one,the generator current harmonics is less than 2%,and the voltage harmonics is less than 5%. 展开更多

Technology Readiness of a Vertical-Axis Hydro-Kinetic Turbine

In this paper, the development of a vertical axis hydrokinetic twin turbine for harvesting energy from flowing water in man-made channels is described. The Technology Readiness Level (TRL) assessment procedure, developed by NASA and modified by the US Department of Energy, is followed and it is shown that the hydrokinetic turbine successfully reaches TRL 7, which is a full-scale, similar (prototypical) system demonstrated in a relevant environment. The concept of the twin turbine (TRL 1 - 3) is first validated and tested using a 1:10 scale laboratory model at Cardiff University and efficiencies of up to 75% are achieved (TRL 4 - 5). In order to justify system functionality and performance in a relevant environment as well as up-scalability, a 1:3 scale model of the twin turbine is implemented and tested in a discharge channel of a water treatment plant in Atlanta, thereby achieving TRL6. This paved the way for an application in the form of an array of ten full-scale twin turbine prototypes, including all relevant components such as housing, drive-train, gear-box and generator. Successful deployment and testing in the South Boulder Canal near Denver means that the hydrokinetic twin turbine system reached TRL7. 展开更多

The high-speed supercritical flow in steeply sloped channels contains a significant amount of hydro-kinetic energy. A novel, horizontal axis, spillway turbine as presented in this paper attempts to convert that energy into electricity. We report on the turbine’s design and experimental testing. Its intended use is in low-head, low-flow, manmade, concrete-lined channels such as chutes, spillways and other similar steeply sloped open-channels. The design lends itself from an impulse turbine runner but without a pipe or a nozzle. The spillway turbine consists of 2 main components: 1) the runner and 2) an accelerator channel that directs the water towards the runner’s blades. The runner, once fitted with Pelton-inspired “cup inserts” shows performance improvements both in terms of efficiency and specific speeds. The specific speed and the speed factors calculated confirm that this novel spillway turbine runner can be categorized as an impulse turbine. The maximum efficiency obtained during laboratory testing is 43.4% and hence competes well with standard hydrokinetic turbines. 展开更多

鉴于中国水资源短缺且农业灌溉用水有效利用率低的现状,为提高农业灌溉用水效率与效能,加快高科技智慧型农业设备研发与推广,降低农业投入以及农业用水的比例,采用数值模拟与模型试验相结合的方法,制定四因素三水平的正交试验优化方案,... 鉴于中国水资源短缺且农业灌溉用水有效利用率低的现状,为提高农业灌溉用水效率与效能,加快高科技智慧型农业设备研发与推广,降低农业投入以及农业用水的比例,采用数值模拟与模型试验相结合的方法,制定四因素三水平的正交试验优化方案,对9种不同方案在设计流量点处的新型微型管道水轮机性能进行计算,并进行物理模型试验验证.研究结果表明:水轮机内的压力脉动主要受到叶片通过频率和导叶通过频率的影响;在设计流量点处,优化后的水轮机出力为6.30 W,效率为85.13%,与初步设计方案相比,分别提高了32.35%和2.58%.同时研发了智慧农业物联网前端与终端系统,建立一个集自发电、环境监测、远程控制、情况预警、生长状况分析于一体的综合性农业物联网智能管理系统,极大地方便了用户,为实现智能化种植、养殖技术提供了一种切实可行的方案. 展开更多

构建微能量收集系统并将其作为传感器分布式电源或自驱动传感器具有重要意义。基于摩擦起电原理,设计并制作一种管状结构的单电极液-固接触摩擦纳米发电机(liquid-solid triboelectric nanogenerator,LS-TENG),实现对固–液摩擦过程所... 构建微能量收集系统并将其作为传感器分布式电源或自驱动传感器具有重要意义。基于摩擦起电原理,设计并制作一种管状结构的单电极液-固接触摩擦纳米发电机(liquid-solid triboelectric nanogenerator,LS-TENG),实现对固–液摩擦过程所产生电荷的直接提取,无需传统摩擦纳米发电机的静电感应过程。首先,基于多物理场耦合分析液-固接触摩擦纳米发电机工作原理,解析电荷转移过程中的电势分布。其次,试验探究液体流量、管道长度、内径和材料对摩擦纳米发电机输出特性的影响情况。最后展示所构建的摩擦纳米发电机作为微电源的负载供能特性。研究发现,LS-TENG的输出电压、电流、转移电荷与流量成正比,与管道内径成反比;LS-TENG输出电能经过整流桥可实现对电容充电储能,在610 mL·min-1的流量下可驱动至少40个LED灯珠。相关研究成果为构建基于管状结构的微水能收集系统提供参考。 展开更多

The contribution of every country against the climate change is request applied. The development of renewable energies is an effective contribution to solutions for this relevant question. Hydropower energy is one of most promising clean energy technologies. However, Micro Hydro Power Plants (MHPP) will be more promising than large hydro power stations. Cameroon has a great hydroelectric potential, but the access rate to electricity is still very low in rural areas of this country. The objective of this work is to do the technical and economic assessment of a MHPP in BAKASSA, which is a remote village in the West Region of Cameroon, in the intention to contribute to its sustainable development. The results of this study show that this MHPP project can be developed with installed power of 97 kW, where the Francis turbine is recommended. The investment cost evaluated at 88,440,068 FCFA. It is a profitable project with a maximum payback period of 9 years. 展开更多

The state of Cameroon, faced with the situation the electricity deficits, is promoting the development of renewable energies in general and to meet rural electrification needs in particular. The purpose of this work is to study the feasibility of the MHP of Batcheu, to show its contribution to sustainable development in this locality and to prove that it is a profitable project. After study, it appears that the waterfall of Batcheu is favourable to the establishment of a MHP with an installed power of 260 kW with an operating diagram corresponding to a Francis turbine. Given that it is a renewable energy that can supply more than 800 households in rural areas, its contribution to sustainable development is obvious. Its investment cost is estimated at 171,465,396 FCFA. It is a profitable project with a payback time of 7 years and 2 months. 展开更多

为了摆脱智能灌溉中电磁阀依赖的有线电源,研究设计了基于超微型水轮发电机供电的智能电磁阀系统,实现了无线“电源网络”。采用超微型水轮发电机与太阳能发电板双供电系统为可充锂电池充电,并使用流体力学、电学等物理、数学方法对其... 为了摆脱智能灌溉中电磁阀依赖的有线电源,研究设计了基于超微型水轮发电机供电的智能电磁阀系统,实现了无线“电源网络”。采用超微型水轮发电机与太阳能发电板双供电系统为可充锂电池充电,并使用流体力学、电学等物理、数学方法对其进行发电效率计算,选用额定容量为6800 mA·h的可充锂电池为YCL11型双稳态脉冲型电磁阀和LTE-Luat通信控制模块供电。设计安装了一套测试装置,计算测试通信控制模块与电磁阀的耗电量以及发电机的充电效率。结果表明超微型水轮发电机每小时充电效率为1.23~2.45,即在40.8~81.6 h之间可充满一次额定容量为6800 mA·h的锂电池,而太阳能充电板在正常工作情况下5.44 h左右便可充满电池,充电效率每小时18.38。在没有超微型水轮发电机和太阳能充电板的情况下,一个充满电的额定容量为6800 mA·h的锂电池可以在GPRS、WCDMA和LTE 3种标准下保证至少89、129和67 d的使用,双发电机充电效率达到每天1.12(1/89)、0.77(1/129)和1.49(1/67)即可满足整个系统的用电需求。该系统不论是超微型水轮发电机还是太阳能充电板的充电效率都超过了所要求的充电效率,可完全保证系统持续运转,符合系统设计要求。该系统的研发成功将为智能灌溉节省大量的电力基础设施建设成本,也为中国偏远地区实现智能灌溉提供一条新的思路。 展开更多

It has longtime been the subject of artisanal exploitation. In 2014, the monthly national production was estimated at around 170 kg. In these mining areas, people still live in a screaming precariousness of which one of the main causes is often the lack of electricity, because of the distance of these localities to the national electricity network. Cameroon has a great hydroelectric potential, but the access rate to electricity is still very low in isolate or rural areas of this country. The objective of this work is to show that it is possible to efficiently exploit gold in isolated areas and contribute to the sustainable development of these localities through the development of micro hydro power (MHP). The mining community of Tikondi in the East Region of Cameroon is the practical case study for an illustration. The results of this study show that the development of the MHP project can be developed with installed power of 87 kW, where the Banki-Michell turbine is recommended according to the Sulzer-Escher Wyss diagram. The investment cost evaluated at 79,832,775 FCFA (1 Euro = 656 FCFA). It is a profitable project with a maximum payback period of 8 years. This project can be easily funded by gold mining activity. That Tikondi’s MHP can make this village becoming attractive for others activities, improving the quality of education of children (there is not any school and lots of them do not go to school), the building of health centers and the quality of life in that locality and therefore contribute to their sustainable development too. 展开更多
