IAP’s role in the intestine is to dephosphorylate toxic microbial ligands such as lipopolysaccharides, unmethylated cytosine-guanosine dinucleotides and flagellin as well as extracellular nucleotides such as uridine diphosphate. IAP’s ability to detoxify these ligands is essential in protecting the host from sepsis during acute inflammation and chronic inflammatory conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease. Also important in these complications is IAP’s ability to regulate the microbial ecosystem by forming a complex relationship between microbiota, diet and the intestinal mucosal surface. Evidence reveals that diet alters IAP expression and activity and this in turn can influence the gut microbiota and homeostasis. IAP’s ability to maintain a healthy gastrointestinal tract has accelerated research on its potential use as a therapeutic agent against a multitude of diseases. Exogenous IAP has been shown to have beneficial effects when administered during ulcerative colitis, coronary bypass surgery and sepsis. There are currently a handful of human clinical trials underway investigating the effects of exogenous IAP during sepsis, rheumatoid arthritis and heart surgery. In light of these findings IAP has been marked as a novel agent to help treat a variety of other inflammatory and infectious diseases. The purpose of this review is to highlight the essential characteristics of IAP in protection and maintenance of intestinal homeostasis while addressing the intricate interplay between IAP, diet, microbiota and the intestinal epithelium.展开更多

Although scholars disagreed about the effect of AD on infertility, more and more evidence showed that AD was closely related to the str uct ural and func ti onal defects of the eutopic endomet rium and myomet rial junc tional zone (MJZ), which may lead to embryo implantation failure and infertility. With the rapid development of imaging technology, the accuracy of diagnose AD has been enhanced, more and more infertility patients were diagnosed with AD. At the same time, a series of pathogenic hypothesis have been proposed to explain the relationship between AD. In addition, AD may influence the patient's reproductive function by affecting sperm transport, embryo implantation, altering uterine peristalsis, influencing the structure and function of endometrium, and changing the intrauterine environment. At present, the treatment of AD-associated infertility is similar to the treatment of AD. The commonly used treatment methods include drug therapy, conservative operative treatment, drug combination surgery, and Chinese medicine treatment and so on. The clinical and experimental studies of AD complicated with infertility and its possible pathogenesis and treatment in recent years are reviewed in this article.展开更多

A new corner detection algorithm in planar curves is proposed. Firstly, from the human perception, two key characteristics are given as an amendment of the traditional corner properties. Based on the two properties, the concept of the fuzzy set is introduced into a detection. Secondly, the extracted-formulae of three groups including the features of the corner subject degree are derived. Through synthesizing the features of three groups, the judgments of the corner detection, location, and optimization are obtained. Finally, by using the algorithm the detection results of several examples and feature curves for some interested parts, as well as the detection results for the test images history in references are given. Results show that the algorithm is easily realized after adopting the fuzzy set, and the detection effect is very ideal.展开更多
